Evolution Revolution The clubs had already met this season in a League Cup encounter at Inverness with the Caley Jags edging that one 2-0 as we made hard work of seeing off a stuffy City. Elgin had lost all four games in the League Cup group F, scoring 2 but losing 19. We won two and lost two but like Elgin, we never got into the knockout stages. Tonight's game was the first one in the Group Stages of the Challenge Cup this year known as the KDM Evolution Trophy. To be honest, it's a bit of a w

Into the Black The two teams that got off to the best start last weekend met at the newly Christened SarensPSG Stadium but they start the day at opposite ends of the table due to our five point deduction in the aftermath of administration. Scott Kellacher had the pleasant dilemma of choosing his squad on merit rather than who is fit although Ross Millen, Adam MacKinnon and Jake Davidson require more time with Doc Proc before getting back on the pitch. Paul Allan made the bench. Peterhead have p

Caley Jags hit Lossie for six Inverness moved into the next round of the North of Scotland Cup after putting six past Lossie before the hour and then giving some game time to the rest of the squad. That should mean we play Strathspey Thistle in the next round on 20th August. Venue TBC although the actual draw gave ICT a home tie. It was a fairly strong squad from the Caley Jags at Grant Park Lossiemouth. Five or six with 1st team games under their belt. Bavidge, Zimba, Robbie Thompson, Stracha

Off to a Flyer at New Central Park Scott Kellacher was busy in the transfer market yesterday scooping up Alfie Bavidge, Chanka Zimba and Mitchell Robertson to bolster his squad for the new season in League1. However none of them started with Bavidge and Robertson on the bench. Calum MacLeod filled in at right back with Oscar McIntyre moving to his favoured left back slot. Paul Allan, Ross Millen and Adam MacKinnon missed out again. The Caley Jags gave everyone else a five point head start just

Over & Out New Signing Oscar McIntyre went straight into the starting XI with Ross Millen, Calum MacLeod and Paul Allan missing from the midweek massacre at East Kilbride. David Wotherspoon also started but Billy Mckay was on the bench. Both sides failed to qualify for the knockout stages despite Rovers trouncing the Caley Jags 5-1 at Stark's Park. Three goals in the first half from Dylan Easton (x2 one pen) and Jack Hamilton killed the contest with Wotherspoon getting a consolation before

It's Raining Goals  Liam Sole started this one after a dazzling half hour display against St Johnstone and he made an immediate impact. He was booked in the 5th minute for alleged simulation. Billy Mckay turned on an Alfie Stewart ball but just missed the target early on. A trialist opened the scoring for the hosts after 17 minutes under a challenge from Danny Devine. Liam Sole blazed wide after a good run and Alfie Stewart was denied by Morrison before at the other end John Robertson clipped t

Last gasp Saints    Built like a heavyweight boxer, Uche Ikpeazu used his strength to turn and poke his shot behind Ross Munro to win this tie that was on a knife edge as we approached full time, just when we were all getting ready for a penalty kick shoot-out. St Johnstone had dominated possession in the opening 45' without threatening to run away with the game. Billy Mckay, looking suspiciously offside spurned an early chance for the hosts as the flag stayed down with keeper Toby Steward block
