David Proctor scored his first goal for Inverness Caledonian Thistle this week and by coincidence he managed to do it against his old side Hibs ...
The match against Hibernian on 2nd October 2005 will go down in history as the game where Dennis Wyness broke the goal-scoring record (formerly) held by Iain Stewart. Some might also choose to remember that he did it with a traditional 'Stewartie lob' over the keeper.
Others may remember that this was the game where Craig Brewster had his first ever ordering off (and hopefully his last one) in Caley Thistle colours ...
For some however, and for David Proctor in particular, he will doubtless remember this game as the one where he scored his first ever goal for Caley Thistle ... and like so many co-incidences that happen in football, he did it against his former side.
David was signed by former management team John Robertson and Donald Park in 2003 as one of a duo of promising players from Hibs, Darran Thomson was the other. The youngster has been in the squad a total of 60 times prior to this match, making a total of 29 appearances, of which 11 have been from the start.
David is proving to be a capable, and adaptable young man who can cover a number of positions at the back and in midfield and at 21 he looks to have a bright future ahead of him.
Random Facts:
- David was 21 on 4th May this year
