    Deal or No Deal 23/24

    DEAL or NO DEAL

Yes folks, it's the annual merry-go-round game played at every football stadium in the Country.

Here is the first draft from CTO based on information in the public domain. This will change over the next few weeks and we will update as and when we see the information.

Let's start at the top and work our way through this as the names are released in the close season break.

343994848_235908595785675_70548681039020Billy Dodds: Billy has signed a new two year extension deal to keep him as Head Coach at the Caledonian Stadium until the end of season 2024/25

This appointment will no doubt be met with mixed emotions across the fan base. Many were disillusioned with the direction the team were going as we suffered a massive mid-season slump. It has been tempered by an outstanding cup run. However the harsh fanbase jury is still out on this one.

    DEAL

BILLY MCKAY: Billy has kept us all waiting, keeping the best to last maybe, but thankfully he has signed on until 2025 (clauses clauses). Billy is on 100 goals, needing just one to equal Dennis Wyness' record of 101 goals. Billy was voted as the club’s Players’ Player and Fans’ Player of the Year last season, and he also won the club’s goal of the season award. He also topped the charts here on CTO. Great to have him back for unfinished business.

WALLACE DUFFY: Wallace was the first player to be announced as having signed a 1 year extension to his contract. Wallace was a stand-out performer in the Scottish Cup Final. "Not always a first choice and injured often during our 22/23 season. However, Wallace has extended his deal for another year after his MotM performance in the Scottish Cup Final against Celtic on June 3rd 2023".

LEWIS HYDE: A former academy graduate, Lewis, now 20 years old, made 31 appearances in season 22/23 and has earned a 1 year extension to June 2024.

AARON DORAN: Aaron has played 370 games for ICTFC, scoring 53 goals. He is the club’s 2nd highest appearance holder, only behind Ross Tokely. Aaron has secured a 1 year extension to take him to June 2024.

DANNY DEVINE: Danny has signed on until the end of next season with a conditional further year written into the contract. Danny is the backbone of our defence and has played in both Scottish Cup finals for the Caley Jags. He is also our vice Captain.

AUSTIN SAMUELS: Has extended his contract. Presumably for at least one season. Samuels joined us in January 2022, signing from Wolves. In total Austin has made 44 appearances for the club, scoring 7 goals. Waiting for official confirmation and length of contract.

NATHAN SHAW: It appears that Nathan may have been on a two year contract. More info to follow.

ETHAN CAIRNS:  has earned another year contract to end of season 2023/24

HARRY HENNEM:  has earned another year contract to end of season 2023/24

ROBBIE THOMPSON:  has earned another year contract to end of season 2023/24

    NEW SIGNINGS

JAKE DAVIDSON: Jake is a right back who has joined us from Queens Park on a 2 year deal that keeps him here until the end of season 2024/25.

CHARLIE GILMOUR: Inverness Caledonian Thistle are delighted to announce agreement with Charlie Gilmour on a 2 year deal (end of 24/25). The 24 year old central midfielder started his career in the Arsenal youth academy, joining the London side at just 6 years-old. Although born in Brighton, Gilmour has a Scottish father and Scottish grandparents and has featured for Scotland at U15, U16, U17 and U19 level.  During his time at St Johnstone, Gilmour has had loan spells with both Alloa and Cove Rangers.

ADAM BROOKS: Adam, 19 years-old, joins us from Celtic where he starred for their B team last season, hitting 13 goals in the Lowland League. He also featured for Celtic in the UEFA Youth League last season, netting goals against Real Madrid and Shakhtar Donetsk. Brooks also scored a double in the Glasgow Cup Final this year against Rangers, which Celtic won 4-3 on penalties. Adam has featured for Scotland at U16, U17 and U19 level. He has signed a 2 year contract with options for a third year.

LUIS LONGSTAFF: ***Latest signing 20th July 2023** Inverness Caledonian Thistle are delighted to announce the signing of right winger Luis Longstaff on a 2-year deal. Luis, 22 years-old, becomes Billy Dodds’ fourth signing of the new season and joins us from Cove Rangers, where he spent last season.

    NO DEAL

ROBBIE DEAS: No surprise really but still hard to take. Robbie made 113 appearances for the Caley Jags scoring twice. He was a tremendous servant for us and will be missed as he heads for Kilmarnock. He is made of stern stuff and made a remarkable recovery last season to play in the Scottish Cup Final. From his Bio on CTO "Unfortunately Robbie suffered a broken leg near the end of a Championship fixture against Raith Rovers in October 2022, ironically having been the standout player on the park and scored only his second goal for the club with a superb header. He is made of stern stuff though and returned to the squad four months later in late February 2023. He then went on to re-establish himself in the first team squad and will play in the Scottish Cup final against Celtic on June 3rd 2023, his 113th appearance for the Caley Jags with two goals to his credit. His contract will be up thereafter". CLUB STATEMENT

SCOTT ALLARDICE: Has taken the walk of shame and left the building after three years at the Caledonian Stadium. He has crossed the bridge to the quaint market town of Dingwall. The once popular midfielder was not without injury problems. Scott played in the final couple of play-off games at the end of season 21/22 and was ready to go for the new season. Unfortunately a serious injury meant Scott missed most of the first half of season 22/23 but he returned to the field in January 2023. Scott is a regular go to player and his tough tackling style has been much appreciated by the fans. Scott has scored 7 goals for the Caley Jags despite injury blighting his career. The Scottish Cup final in June 2023 was his 100th appearance for Inverness.

SHANE SUTHERLAND: Shane has been released after a season out with injury. Judging by some posts on twitter, this one could get a bit messy. I'm sure there will be more revelations regarding his release by eMail. Have we signed Prince Andrew as head of PR? Club deny the allegations. Either way, all the best to Shane. CLUB STATEMENT

STEVEN BOYD:  Steven struggled to make an impact at Inverness and had been used mostly as a substitute during his spell here scoring just one goal against Cove in a 1-0 win. 41 appearances with 25 of those coming off the bench.

BEN WOOD: It was a stop start spell for Ben due to injuries. He only made 8 appearances with 1 start and after his contract ended he has now left the club.

JAMIE CARNIHAN: A former academy graduate, Jamie had represented Scotland at schoolboy level. He made his first team debut against Hamilton Accies in the Challenge Cup in 22/23. He left Inverness to sign a 2 year deal at Nairn County in June 2023.
