As for beith it's a shame if injury has ruined his career but ict have to look at why we have over the recent years not just had so many injuries but an inability to detect players t high risk prior to signing and lack of rehabilitation skills. Wish him all the best if gone but this is yet another example of poor communication and lack of proper management in his recruitment.

It is a reality that without funds for transfer fees we are needing to look to find players who have potential but have missed out due to injury or other reasons.

Dargo is a prime example of this.

It is a balance between risk of further injury and accessing better quality.

Rather than still celebrate the fact we managed to win the Scottish Cup and appreciate the achievement of the team and manager ignoring the fact that while he may have had a high budget for ICT, it was nowhere near the highest or even 3rd highest budget in Scottish football yet managed to deliver a trophy and a 3rd place league finish - showing significant over-achievement. Realistically we should never have got to cup finals and spent the season fighting relegation with Hamilton!!!

On that logic surely all the plaudits should sit with the runners up who were punching even further above their weight!!

Hughes is the best manager we've ever had. He's taken us to Europe and to two cup finals, winning one, in two attempts. However his reputation has been shattered after he went down with the Kirkcaldy boys.

Hughes was possibly the most successful manager (depends how you view winning a cup against winning a league over the course of a season).

Not sure the majority would say hs is our best manager.

He was fortunate to inherit a team built by Butcher with a few gems from the youth ranks. He then bullied the board into loosening wages in contracts and to bring in a raft of poor players at significant cost. Whilst the year under Foran put the nail in the coffin, the rot very much started on his watch in spite of being blessed witht the best playing budget of any of our previous managers.

  4. The correction of fan's moral compass is missing the point and a hollow victory at the moment.

Whilst I have little time for many of the abusive shouts (and I would separate brief outbursts of frustration from some of what appears to be more premeditated vitriol directed at certain individuals), I don't see how Robo telling people where to go helps with improving attendance or enhancing any form of positivity around the club.

As has been mentioned on many threads, we are struggling to attract people and even where free entry is offered then this is not sufficient to attract people to attend. We may not be alone with this problem however the on-going and continuous negativity around just about everything is hurting the club and needs to be addressed.

As a side note, Coll Donaldson has been dropping his usually high standards of late, and his passing has become decidedly telegraphic...

    Get the head down, Coll.

To be fair, he is clearly carrying an injury and should be applauded for playing on due to suspensions to others

Sadly our fans seem to be drifting away quicker than snow off a dyke which is very concerning and isn't going to help the budget that Robertson has to work with.

Unfortunately there is a general lack of positivity around the club with match days currently not being any form of experience (this has been the case for a number of years not just the past couple).

Whilst scale of attendance for atmosphere has an impact, attending a game has now become a pretty soulless experience and I find it hard to get anyone to want to come to the game even when there is a free ticket going.

The negativity (this is meant at a global level and is not directed at the board, team or fans specifically) also means that there is little business benefit in investing within the club (e.g. hospitality).

Somethings needs to be done to change this before there is any chance of improving attendances or getting additional investment. If you consider existing major shareholders, they all seem to have issues with each other which limits any chance of them working together to improve things.

A great game! Calder and Ridgers were outstanding. Great to see Oakley back. A mention for Chalmers, Welsh, Walsh and Polly, they a good game too. Young Daniel and White weren’t effective and Austin could have done better than either. McCart didn’t upset the Apple cart when replacing Rooney and Doran looked like his old self. The counter attack looked menacing, the fans were cheering the counter from our own box which was heartening for all concerned. The linesman is a joke however!

    Highlights show McKay is onside

We've had players and teams that have deserved abuse

Can understand being worthy of criticism but what exactly merits abuse??

Have just listern to JRs Account of the game he was a little disappointed to lose the goals we did and felt we took our foot off the throttle.

Without trying to be overly critical as at the end of the day we were left playing with 9 1/2 men due to injury, JR has to shoulder some of the blame from a tactical sense with part of the issue being the team tiring with a high press and being 3 nil up we could have conceded the ball higher up the park and looked to be tigher together and then hit on the break.

The obvious substitution was also Doran (who had a good game) for Calder who would have added pace as well as improving the left hand side defense. Instead he took off Whyte and we lost the way up front thereafter and struggled to hold the ball up (obviously made worse with Oakley's injury).

I don't think we collapsed in the second half...well, not as is being suggested.  We had a great first half and got the job done, then it looked more like us going into self preservation mode as we clearly have one or two players out there who were/are carrying knocks and niggles.

Not sure what the excuse was for the officials, they were woeful.....bad, not bias.

From memory, it has been suggested at previous AGMs that the cost of the clubs Youth Setup was around 10% of turnover....in the last couple of years in the premiership that would have put it at about £350k to £400k.  Less than the (rumoured) fee we got for Christie.....a lot less if/when Celtic sell him and there's a kick back from that.

As with many things, it's not the what's being done that is cause for concern, its the "how".  We got rid of Big Dunc when relegated because we couldn't afford a development coach, but we've now brought in 3 coaches to do the job he was doing.

It should be noted that the success with the youths is not a new thing, it is not the result of anything that's been done by the current board or any of the 3 new coaches who were brought in.  Those success came from how things were running previously and under the very capable hand of Fiona, Ronnie and the coaches the oversaw (Charlie Christie has always been little more than a public face for PR purposes, with very little hands on coaching).

I had limited involvement with Project Brave stuff when at the club, but my understanding was that it would only increase the costs if we wanted to hit Elite Level....which we haven't.  Any additional cost is entirely of our own making.  I'm not against additional investment in the area, but money could have been spent giving additional support to what was there (and working) instead of creating more jobs for the boys!

Not sure what costs you believe are of our own making?

Project Brave even at the current level has very specific requirements including specified numbers of coaches for each each group. It has also resulted in having to split Roles as certain people cannot do other roles.

This is beyond the control of the club.

That said there are a significant amount of things wrong which are being papered over and there is quite a bit of bemusement at decisions being taken.

Very diplomatically put re CC being a figurehead. Many would be a bit more blunt.

  12. Heard about the fact that Alan was ill and terminal a couple of weeks back but as it was not public I thought better not to mention things on CTO.

Having had the chance to work alongside Alan (as well as watching him play) I can say that this was a pleasure.

Thoughts are with his family and friends.
