  1. I had a mini-tour of Scotland last week - Falkirk (sister-in-law about to move home), Aberdeen (funeral), Inverness (see my Mum), Falkirk again, then home to Snorbens.

Souvenir of my trip?   A dose of good old Scottish covid.  Ah well, it seemed for the last while to be inevitable.

Of all the locations mentioned, the one below is closest to Sneck.  I don't think that there are any obvious clues...

Hopefully the Ridgers must start brigade chill out a bit now. Obviously Ridgers is quality but Cammys dedicated his whole life to Caley and is worthy of a run in the team, barely missed a session and has been very solid since coming in. 1 mistake and calling to be dropped is very harsh. He’s human.

During the first half PPV commentary, Ross T noted that Cammy's ball distribution has been excellent in the games that he has played.  So that's two of us who think that

We now have the problem of keeping two first-team quality keepers happy and motivated!

Am I permitted to use the word 'Nice' to describe my favourite biscuit?

As long as you pronounce it "neece".   It is not the same word

Wikipedia: "1929 editions of the Hull Daily Mail carried an advertisement for Huntley & Palmers Nice Biscuits using the phrase "Delightful as the town after which they are named", indicating that by this point their manufacturers intended the public to associate the biscuit with the French city, whether or not that had been the intended pronunciation."

  4. Where are you all?  Celebrating?

A great win today.  A good performance from everyone from Cammy Mackay forwards.  Great saves by Cammy himself.

Weathered the storm after we went 1-0 up, and Yogi ruffled up his team.

An inspired substitution - I too would have taken Mckay off.  He wasn't happy, but it was good to see him join in the celebrations when Samuels scored.

    Who's next?

Most controlled performance I've seen from them in months, don't waste the hard work with any second half mistakes.

Agreed.  Some good football being played and some great chances created.

Dunfermline playing pretty well, too, though, and I wonder what Yogi has seen and what changes in tactics he might make for the second half.

  6. Clearly, someone was educated at the same time that I was, in the 60s to mid-70s.  It was hammered into us that we should never use any form of the verb "get".  If one found oneself about to do so, then one should seek an alternative.  "Nice" was another word which we also had to avoid.

(Written in my bestest English, as they learned us.)

No why is the church called Auldearn and Dalmore 🤣

Nothing to do with the Dalmore at Alness!  From the map, there seems to be an area just south of Auldearn called Dalmore.  There's a Dalmore Farmhouse, and also Auldearn Antiques in Dalmore Manse.

The parish of Auldearn and Dalmore joined up with St Ninians in Nairn a couple of years ago, and is now known as "Nairn: St Ninian's l/w Auldearn & Dalmore"  - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Church_of_Scotland_parishes#Presbytery_of_Inverness

Don’t usually criticise refs but I’ve observed Colin Steven since he started in the non league and he’s consistently hopeless.

I've always enjoyed the Raith commentators - no matter what they call us - although it wasn't the usual second man today.

One of them before the match said "The ref today is one of my favourites, Colin Steven.  And if you detected any sarcasm in that, it was purely intentional!".
