  1. In a way I can understand their cautiousness, we can't go splashing the cash like we have in the past.

If we let almost all the Under 19's go, then sign others on 2 year deals, looks like a right slap in the face!

"We don't have any money....whoops sorry we do, have a 2 year deal!"

I think 1 year deals will make them hungry, TB is only on contract for another 1 year, so maybe the

two are linked? How can he offer more, if he's unsure what's happening himself?

Fingers crossed they'll all be fighting hard for new contracts...in the SPL!

  2. Was reading about this on the BBC site at lunchtime. Fingers crossed!

We have our own wee saddo rebellion and order in from Asda every week, it's cheaper to

have shopping delivered from Elgin, than it is for a taxi up from Morrisons.

    Much prefer Morrisons and Asda!

  3. Below is an e-mail I received from the East End Inn. Sounds good for parking (cars and buses)and the free food never goes wrong. I reckon it's got to be worth a shot for our first game in the SFL. Can you post on this thread nearer the time if you plan to use this facility. The pink fluffy one didn't have much good to say about the Elizabethan when she was up as it seems to have gone down hill quite a bit.

Do they do Real Ale for our Old Ferts Gringo & PB? If not there might a riot breaking out aboard HMS Sneck! ;)

    Really looking forward to it!

  4. Anyone up for getting the Footie Kilts out for the Pars game?

Let's start the season as we mean to go on....in style! :P

Used to be great craic seeing the lads turning up to games in the Kilts.

I remember one occassion in Caffs Bar in Bugsy, when lots of lassies asked

King Beastie (dressed in a Kilt and Pom Poms at the time), to "Give us an E",

took the "wee innocent one" a while to catch onto what they meant!

    Quality!

How about it guys n gals?

  5. yeeeeeha

i've won a fiver just predicting that your team would be the first home game for us! yipppeeee (that's a fiver to the wedding shindig in two weeks lol)

if yer efter a good pub on yer way to EEP, there's the East End Inn at Touch, or the Elizabethan (an old favourite) or indeed dander into the toon for a pre match bevvy, food and great company (ahem) at the Commercial. It's opposite the post office, and 2 mins walk from the bus station --- approx 15 mins uphill walk from dunfermline town station, and aye i'm a regular there, as well as some ither non hoolie pars fans (ahem)...

they sell real ale, are a major participant in CAMRA, the food they serve is excellent and it's a 10 min walk from East End Park.

Look forward to seein ye all.... ma wee heeland pals.

  6. There's also plenty, just like Imrie, who have worked on Building Sites and know what hard graft really is!

you do realise imrie is on over a 1000 a week, iain was asking for half of that? so because imrie wasn't good enough to be a player at 19 and had to work on a building site that makes him different how?????? stop talking noise.

Ahhh - but he was good enough to be a player. He rose up through Junior Football, before being spotted by Clyde!

He's a far more established and battle hardy player.

We went down, largely, to the ineptitude of our Manager in Dec and Jan! Not because of our wage structure!

  7. Why isn't it enough? What are his counterparts at Ross County, Dundee etc getting?

We have been relegated, we probably don't have more to offer.

So instead of mucking people about...lets learn from the Barrowman fiasco from last season, make an offer, stick to it, and then move on.

If he's worth the money, he'll find it somewhere else!

    Good luck to him!

  8. It was a very strange day on Saturday, I think we all went through just about every emotion possible before we'd even got to the game. Wishing it was another week away....then 10 minutes later being thankful it was a 12.30 KO so we didn't have to wait until 3pm!

My heart was thumping out my chest! So very very emotional! In tears one minute, then screaming yourself hoarse for a goal the next!

I'm really really thankful though at the way we all picked each other up afterwards. Everyone seemed to just say Feck it - those Bar Stewards won't beat us! We're down, but by Christ we're not out! Everyone burst into song, and The Innes was full of banter and County songs again - fantastic! Just like the good old days!

That's what I'm going to really take from this season. Supporting your team, for most of us, is a release. A way of taking all the crap from your daily life, and for 90 mins just giving it some, having the time of your life, and cheering for the team you love.

Football is not about being in the SPL....the Old Firm.....or the Glory of being a giant killing "diddy team".

It's about 3pm...Saturday afternoon...being with your mates...getting the craic...singing Caley Songs....and supporting the boys - through thick and thin!

    Mrs PB

PROUD TO BE A CALEY JAGGIE!

  9. I think most of you are way off the mark!!

Someone just unearthed a newsbot that Vigurs was offered a contract and didnt sign it. This shows to me he was keeping his options open. It was the game before Brewster got sacked - i bet he had no interest in Caley staying up or going down, and made his decision he was going.

I suspect all Vigurs was hoping for was a chance to show Butcher what he was capable of...

    You know... just like Djebi-Zadi..

Or perhaps hoping to squeeze more money out of the Club...a la Barrowman! Butcher is no Brewster, he won't be mucked about!

All the other teams have had 3 weeks of, our season effectively starts on 25th July. We need quick decisive strong actions from our management!

It might seems harsh, but I agree with Don, seems a very positive sign that TB intends to stay, and needs players that can battle, play "streetwise" football, and get us some good results - fast!

We have to show SFL1 respect - and our guys have to adapt and learn how to play in it! Otherwise, before we know it. Dundee etc will go flying off and we'll be left sitting there with another uphill battle!

    Mrs PB

  10. Now that the tears have dried and relegation has sunk in, I gotta say there's plenty to be positive about!

The party in The Innes after the game felt like the good old days! Doing the Bouncy Bouncy, singing County songs - superb!

Things to look forward to next Season...

    1. No Old Firm Fans!

    2. No Old Firm Fans sitting in the Home end

    3. Getting the last laugh from the Inverness Old Firm Fans, who have lost their "Home Game" and might now

actually have to go and find out where Ibrox/Parkhead is - the poor lambs!

    4. Cheaper Season/Away Match Tickets

    5. Better Stewarding!

    6. Not being told to sit down at games every two minutes - Old School Footie returns!

    7. The Highland Derby - and hopefully an 12 easy points! :P

    and finally...................

    8. GETTING OUR CLUB BACK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Time for change - let the clear out begin!

    Mrs PB

  11. Well here it is....the day is upon on us! Really really nervous!

If you'd have asked us in January if we fancied playing to stay up in last game of the season, we'd have probably bitten yer hand off!

Terry Butcher has done a fantastic job since he arrived - he is the man to keep us up! BELIEVE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Let's make that Stadium rock today!

Good Luck Lads! I know you can rise up to the challenge and become he Legends we know you are!

    C'MON CALEY THISTLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    B) B)
