  5. Yes ,the large black hangar in Lotland St was used by Macrae and Dick for storing there stock of "new " cars. I remember as an apprentice in the 70s being sent down to get the stock started and shifted around .There used to be over 100 cars in there at any one time and some had a few birthdays in there before being sold as new .Macrae and Dick were associated with highland airways and must have inherited the hangar as part of that association.Interesting ly Tommy Cumming used to work there part time as well as his milk round and groundsman duties at Telford Street

  7. Would just like to clear a few things up from previous threads. The bakers in eastgate was not burnetts it was Skinners bakery.Greenlees was a newsagents run by Henry Pierarcinni who was the brother of Ronnie who ran the chippie,a brill chippie indead> Mario Bernardi had a shop opposite ronnies chippie and then moved across the roadWhen the first bit of the demolition started. His son Peter was a regular staff member he now works in Jonny Foxes .I have great memories of the old eastgate as I used to cycle that way from school and later work

RIP Brookes always admired what you did for Gretna and their fans although it all went a bit pear shaped in the end Was a "gretna " fan at Dungwall when they went up amazing atmosphere .Spoke to Brookes that day outside the ground and he was a real down to earth football supporter who was extemely proud of his teams achievements
