  1. I just don't get why some fans always automatically call for Rooney to start no matter how badly he actually plays when he gets in. He reminds me of Graham Bayne. He has all of his weakness's but none of his strengths. Bayne was slow, cumbersome, couldn't control or hold a ball, and lacked composure in front of goal. But he offered an aerial threat, a physical presence and willingness to press and force errors from defenders. None of which I see from Rooney. When he starts we play terribly and lose. It's a pretty simple pattern.

From our current squad I would go for a partnership of 1 from...

    Morais and Eric - skill.

    and one from...

    Wood and Imrie - graft.

Rooney and Barrowman don't offer enough of either.

  2. I agree, homophobes are the scum of the Earth as far as I'm concerned

People who disapprove of or make jokes about homosexuality are the 'scum of the earth'. Do you really believe that? Personally I'm more worried about murderers, burglars, rapists, heroine dealers etc. If you are so tolerant then you should live and let live. Homophobes should have the right to express their opinion no matter how much you disagree with it. They might be lovely blokes too.

If it's a homophobic assault, I hope the little creep is hammered with the full force of the new law.

Are we not all 'equal before the law'? Why should an assault on a homosexual be deserving of harsher punishment than an assault on a heterosexual?

  3. Jade Goody, the reality TV star who died last month of cervical cancer aged 27, represented ?all that is paltry and wretched about Britain?, Sir Michael Parkinson has said.

He told Radio Times: "Jade Goody has her own place in the history of television and, while it?s significant, it?s nothing to be proud of. Her death is as sad as the death of any young person, but it?s not the passing of a martyr or a saint or, God help us, Princess Di.

?When we clear the media smoke screen from around her death, what we?re left with is a woman who came to represent all that?s paltry and wretched about Britain today.

?She was brought up on a sink estate, as a child came to know drugs and crime, was barely educated, ignorant and puerile. Then she was projected to celebrity by Big Brother and became a media chattel to be exploited till the day she died.?

  4. Whenever I've seen him play for the first team he's been very impressive, one of the best attacking players on the pitch on more than one occassion. What are we lacking at the moment? Skill, creativity, trickyness, pace, quality deliveries. He has all of that in spades and could be a huge player for us (no pun intended) if he were given the chance. That's the frustrating part, he seems to be getting condemned based on pre-suppositions about his physique rather than his performances on the pitch.

  5. IHE is right, clearly Lionel is responsible for Munro's inability to win challenges, mark his man, or pass the ball to an ICT player. Case closed. He's also to blame for the economic crash, the hole in the ozone layer, and global warming.

  6. Well some of you will appreciate this BUT this is my last post on this thread becos I am so worried that what I said in the first place is going to come true.

The Bottom line is that :

He is NOT a SPL player - In the Daily Retard he described yesterday as the biggest game of his career - WTF - if he is as nervous as that yesterday what is he going to be like in the Split trenches.

He made basic mistakes yesterday but got off with them - for how long ?

He looked totally lost at times and his cover defensive positioning is NON FECKIN EXISTENT.

What really worried me yestreday was that there were several occasions when Esson, Munro, Pavels, Black and Duncan could have played simple balls to Lionel but decided against it - that is REALLY worrying.

The match report in the Scottish News of the World (SCORE pullout) says LIONEL DJEBI ZADI - 5/10 " Looked like an accident waiting to happen".

He is undoubtedly a great guy, a bit of a "cult figure" but many are now worried - He has strength, he has pace, he is loyal and committed but he is a BIG BIG danger to our survival.

Get a life and stop this pathetic hate campaign. Every week you come on and start b1tching about Lionel, blah blah blah, no matter what. He's been one of our best players in our recent good run, he doesn't deserve to be singled out for a poor team performance against Falkirk, and he isn't going to be dropped no matter how much sh1te you post about him. Get over it. :rotflmao:

  8. Grant Munro... Poor marking, poor tackling, poor passing, poor communication, poor clearances, poor in the air, no composure, no common sense. Just rubbish all round quite frankly. He's completely lost it in the last few months and shouldn't be anywhere near the first team. Some players can play themselves out of bad form, others go on a downward spiral. He seems to fall into the latter category and needs some time on the bench to regroup.

Duff was very impressive when he was given a run earlier in the season and didn't deserve to lose his place to Proctor. He was simply a victim of Brewster's favouritism. We can't afford to keep carrying seriously off-form players week in week out in our current predicament, Butcher needs to be ruthless in his selection policy for the good of the team.

Duff in for Munro and make Tokely captain.

  9. Sounds like we've played with the same lethargy as last week and deserved to lose. Glad I didn't travel to the game now. If Butcher wants the fans to turn up then he should at least make sure that the team turns up. How on earth can we lose so badly against a team who we played off the park just a couple of weeks ago with 10 men? The players badly let us down today, they should have been fired up going all guns blazing to get stuck into falkirk. This was one of the most important games in our history and definatly the dissapointed I've ever felt about a result.

We need to ring the changes next week thats for sure. According to the radio nobody in an ICT shirt got pass marks today so nobody should be immune to being dropped.

  10. Certain Jewish lobby groups (which have no democratic mandate to represent the jewish community) such as the ADL are so aggressive and OTT that they actually probably encourage anti-semitism rather than combat it IMHO.

Blatantly partisan propaganda campaigns (such as the 'threat' posed to the west by Iran and the lie that Mahmoud Ahmadinejad called for Israel to be 'wiped off the map') are never questioned by our lazy media.

Who is George Galloway a threat to? All of his criticisms of Israel are legitimate and humanitarian. The very act of criticizing Israel is being criminalized. That's not a good precedent to set in a supposedly free society.

  11. Esson :D :rotflmao: :thumb04: :018: ;) Pulled off some important saves early doors, commanded his box well against a barrage of high balls in the second half, looked comfortable when the ball was passed back to him under pressure.

Tokely  :015: :D :P :021: No nonsense display, won almost every challenge he went into and had Skelton in his pocket.

Pavels :D :D :D :D A couple of mix ups with Munro but solid for the most part.

Munro :D :D Not sure what's happened to him this season, looked uncertain and shakey whenever the ball came near him. Lost his man repeatedly, let Killy players dribble past him too easily without putting in a challenge, and terrible distribution of the ball.

Djebi Zadi :D :D :D :D :D Another excellent performance, like Tokely he won almost every tackle he went in for, also one of the only ICT players who showed any composure and skill on the ball yesterday. "He has evidently been told to keep it simple and get rid ASAP. Unfortunately most of the time it went to a Killie player". Sorry that's absolute tosh, out of our back 4 he was the LEAST guilty of panicking and conceding possession.

Proctor :D :D :D Didn't do anything spectacular but put in a shift.

Kerr :D :D :D Not his best game for us but he nullified the threat from Bryson well and showed a bit of much needed composure on the ball. More to come from him I think.

Black :D :D :D Again, not his best game but worked hard for the team.

Foran :D :D :D Put himself about well but didn't get much support in the final third.

Imrie :D :D :D :D The front 2 didn't receive much in the way of quality service or support. Imrie was double marked most of the time but looked menacing when running at defenders and ran his socks off chasing lost causes. He was still sprinting at defenders and throwing himself into challenges in injury time.

Rooney :D :D Contributed very little. Too cumbersome and immobile to play in our current system IMHO.

    ---------------------------Duncan------------------------------

    ----Proctor---------------------------------------Foran--------

    ----------------------------Black--------------------------------

    -----------Imrie-----------------------------Morais------------

This team would outplay Falkirk IMHO, Imrie and Morais would cause havock on the break.

Alternatively we could look to exploit the fact that the Bairns seem vulnerable to the direct approach...

  13. Northern constabulary officers were horrified to find several members of the Clachnacudden first team playing football with a hedgehog.

They were just about to arrest them when they realised the hedgehog was 4-0 up.

  14. Imrie had a decent game today when you take into consideration the shocking service he received, the lack of support from midfield, and the fact that he was playing alongside an immobile strike partner who wasn't on the same wavelength and kept losing the ball.

He formed an effective partnership alongside Eric before the latter went off the boil. If the front 2 has to change again then it cetainly shouldn't be Imrie who gets dropped. I would like to see him played alongside Morais, that combination would cause opposing defences serious problems.

  15. Phew, that was one of the worst games of football I've ever seen. Our second half performance was absolute mince, there was only 1 team in the game. We kept punting long aimless balls up the park and barely strung 2 passes together for long spells. There was no focus, no composure, no imagination. We were lethargic and second to almost every ball, the exact opposite of our performance against Hibs. Rooney and Imrie were completely ineffective, they kept conceding posession too easily and created nothing. I don't think they're going to form an effective partnership.

In the last half hour Butcher and Malpas obviously decided to go all out defence and cling onto our lead rather than go out to kill the game off. At the final whistle we had 8 defenders on the pitch. That must be an ICT record!

We played far better last week and got nothing. I'll take an ugly win over an entertaining defeat any week but if we play this badly again we'll almost always lose.

  16. We should have 'got rid of the whole lot of them in 1921'. They're a 'bunch of bigots'.

Sounds alot like you harbour some prejudices of your own. Surely the most sensible approach here is to just ignore them? Expressing hatred and intolerance for those taking part shows that you are no better than them.

  17. Who is actually having the march?

Just wondering if it's fair to call it a 'loyalist' march i.e. perhaps those taking part are being stigmatized and don't actually stand for some of the things (northern ireland extremist politics etc) that are being projected on them.

So long as they aren't breaking the law I say live and let live.
