  1. Ah the 'ol reverse psychology... Disagree with you that Caley are the best footballing side. IMHO I'd say county have been the most entertaining side to watch this season. The pars have also been pretty decent to watch. We've been the best at grinding out results. This Dunfermline game is a massive one for us.

Fair play to the guy from Dundee and i totally agree with him. I am fed up off other clubs talking themselves up , none more so than county! Statistics do not lie . we have scored more than 20 goals more than the so called better footballing sides and in Countys case we have conceded less having played 3 games more. I for one go to watch football to see goals scored and certainly have no complaints on that score . So lets give credit where its due, we are the best team in the league at the moment!

  2. Lionel was suberb last night - had one wee defensive mis-cue, which gave Clach a chance, but had some terrific runs through the middle - one of these got us a penalty.

The guy really is a class act. The sooner someone realises he is not a defender the better.

Class act ! You have got to be joking. Quite simply he is one of the worst defenders ever to wear our jersey. You obviously have a short memory when you dont recall how County targetted him in the 1st derby off the season. I will be surprised if he starts a 1st team game again for us.By the way it was Clach we were playing . Maybe this will tell you something about his level.

  3. Its more the Players i'm annoyed with than Butcher :025:

No, the buck must stop with Butcher and Malpas now.

They should be sacked as soon as possible.

And I agree that Butcher's reaction to the support was totally inexcusable. It would give ammunition for a sacking for gross misconduct to cut short any idea the fool may have about compensation.

Yesterdays outbursts directed at the main stand supporters was disgraceful and totally unacceptable by our management team. Long before Butchers outburst Malpas had been having a running feud with another fan for about 15 mins during which he clearly directed foul mouthed abuse at one particular fan.Another of our so called coaching team Kellagher was seen constantly peering through the dugout at anyone who dared to voice there displeasure at what they were watching.Lets get one thing clear also. I was sitting fairly close to our dugout when Butcher blew a fuse. When Queens scored their 2nd goal some of our fans decided it was enough and got up to go . [these fans i might add have been loyal season ticket holders for the last 10 years],for our manager to then turn round and tell them to f off you f ing as holes [and that is exactly what he did say] is totally unacceptable. We keep getting told to be patient and to get behind the team, and i think considering what we have all had to watch over the last season and a half we have done just that. Lets not forget , 4 home wins in the league last season and still waiting for our first this season. Management must take responsibility , this is their so called team but what worries me after watching another collapse when in a position to go on and win the game ,is their inability to see where the problems are on the pitch and make the neccessary changes. An example of this was in the last 20mins yesterday when all our problems were coming down Ross Tokelys side where he was being constantly exposed yet nothing was done to sort it and as a result we lost 2 late goals coming from that area . Perhaps instead of the management getting involved in stupid arguments ,they should take a seat in the stand with us and maybe then they could see where the problems are and rectify them. As any season ticket holder can see ,already fans are not coming to the games as can be seen by the empty seats which have already been paid for . Lets hope for our clubs sake things improve soon and we can all get back to enjoying our football again.

  4. Well, i'm sure now that the dust has settled, all the Brewster doubters will put their hands up and admit they were wrong to call for his head. All the pressure from the folk for a man to be sacked, and without that pressure he may still be in a job, and ICTFC would still be an SPL club... oh well, we all make mistakes!

What a waste of time even discussing Brewster. Quite simply him and Thompson are responsible for our relegation. If the board had acted sooner and sacked them we would be looking forward to another season in the S P L .

  5. This thread is an indirect statement from Iain Vigurs who wishes to thank the fans on the forum who have expressed their support for him. He also states that he loved his time at ICT and felt very much at home in Inverness. Iain also says that his first team experiences under Craig Brewtser was the highlight of his young football career and was looking forward to contributing to Caley's campaign to remain in the SPL and future seasons at the club.

Unfortunatley this was not to be and would now like to wish the fans and the club all the best for the future, especially for next season.

Ian you have the chance now to show I C T how big a mistake they are making in releasing you . You are without doubt one of the most talented youngsters i have seen at our club. I am quite sure if you find the right club and totally dedicate yourself to football you are a star of the future . Good luck mate.

    Regards

    Iain Vigurs.

  6. Well I'm actually off for the whole week not just saturday but my point being - in order for me get to games (that are played on a saturday) I need to book it as a holiday since I work every saturday.

Fair play to you bud. The more home fans who turn out the better chance of us getting a possitive result. Who knows a lot of the so called big game supporters might enjoy and come on a regular basis.

  7. that isn't the point, does that mean man city will get free travel home and away for the rest of the clubs existance.....

The point as you put it is, if we get relegated it will cost our club well over a million pounds in lost revenue.Surely any small investment which as i have said before could help the team at such an important game should be tried.

  8. to be fair to the club, i was surprised they put on a free bus for hamilton, yes it was a good thought and did work, but the thought was there so that next time there would be people going to a "big game" they would pay for the bus and get more people paying and going to these games in the future. nobody can expect the club to supply free busses for every so called big game, by the end of the season the club would in the red

Our owner in everything but name, David Sutherland could pay for them and not even notice the difference to his bank book.

  9. In view of the importance of our match with Falkirk on the 21st March,i think the club should seriously consider laying on free busses again. It was proved at the Hamilton game by the huge response from the fans that it was a definate success. In our short history we have played some massive games but none could prove to be more vital than this one.Lets get as many fans as possible down and give the players the boost they deserve.

  10. I have often complained on here about O.F fans sitting amongst the home fans when we play them up here, but I found myself in a role reversal situation on Wednesday night.

As many of you know I work with adults and children who have disabilities and the man i work with full time is Rangers daft, but had never been to Ibrox to see his team. So i managed to source a couple of spare season tickets at Ibrox from an accquaintance and found myself sat amongst the Rangers fans.

I sat on my hands for the entire 90 mins and had to everything in my power to stop myself leaping about when the penalty was scored!! In fact I made sure we waited till EVERY home fan had left the stadium before I was able to show my true emotions!!

It was very strange watching the game amongst opposition fans. I found that I viewed our performance through much less euphoric or expectant eyes than normal.

I thought we put in a very poor performance, but the fact that Rangers couldn't beat us makes the victory all the sweeter!

I thought our Mom was Esson, even though he started out very shakily. I thought Munro was very poor, with the exception of his goal line clearance. I thought Black was very subdued till stoppage time of course and I applaud his composure and belief to take the penalty, but his passing was poor throughout the game. Russell Duncan was terrible. How he manages to get a game is beyond me. He cant pass or shoot and to see him cost us possession time and time again was sooo frustrating. To see a professional footballer making such mistakes is embarrassing at times. His throw in that cost us possession when we were deep in Rnagers half was cringeworthy. He tried to take a quick throw and took it from so far behind the touchline that the ball bounced before it had actually entered the field of play and they ref gave the throw to them.

I was very impressed with the rest of the defence. Lionel looks so full of confidence and he was one touch from being clear through on the rangers goal.

A very attack minded team selection from butcher although morais clearly isnt fit and i thought rooney was very poor. I lost count of the number of times he lost out when challenging for headers and his first touch was poor. I believe he's better as a sub and given the last 30 mins to build confidence. Imrie looked well up for it when he came on and had one glorious pass which came closest to troubling the home defence.

I also fail to see what proctor offers to the team. Apart from winning penalties of course!

Anyway, i hope this doesn't sound over critical but it was just how i saw it. What a tremendous result and here's hoping its onward and upwards from here on in.

Actually looking forward to going to Caledonian stadium these days!!!

Sorry Bronson but i think sitting in amongst the bears must have rubbed of on you. Surely the players must have done something right when they beat the league leaders who have Scotlands top scorer, have also as a team scored the most goals in the league so far.As an attacking force on the night we may not have created much but as a unit we defended brilliantly. If we can do that when, according to you nearly half our team were rubbish god help the rest when the whole team click.
  11. I think you Caley fans are being very harsh.

You come up against a Motherwell side that before yesterday had won 4 drawn 4 and lost 0, including the win at Fir Park over ICT. Lets be honest, you might have had a decent penalty shout turned down, but at Fir Park so did we, when you had an almost identical one given. We, Motherwell actually went 6 stonewallers in 7 games without getting a penalty until we played Hibernian and finally got one we deserved. It is all swings and roundabouts.

Are you trying to say you thought you were the better side yesterday. Apart from the 2 gifted goals what did you create in 90 mins . I will tell you , nothing. The ref was an absolute disgrace and gave you every decision that matters . Get your blinkers of and for once admit your team yet again got the breaks against us. The last time you were in inverness the game should have been over before half time in our favour yet you mugged us in the 2nd half due to a brilliant free kick. Dont fall into the trap of believing the crap Maghee spouts every other day in the press.

We deserved our win, just as much as we deserved the draw against Celtic. It is not Motherwell's fault if a team does not bother Smith much, despite controlling the game. All it proves is we take our chances.

At the second goal despite the mistake, there was still alot to be done and you won't see much better, or accurate finishing, except maybe from Brian "Juan" Kerr every 15 matches.

And what trap is that? The fact he said, once he gets his First XI back you will see Motherwell march up the table, 5 wins 4 draws... check. The fact if we get our First XI back we'll give anyone a game... beaten Hearts, hammered Dundee United, drawn with Celtic... check... what part of it should I not listen to?

Were you at the game m8? I see you admit we controlled the game at least which is more than your manager says. I as a season ticket holder see all the teams in the spl and get totally pissed of hearing how well they have played up here when apart from the Dons 3 nil win here,[they totally outplayed us] we have matched them only to concede soft goals.Granted your 2nd goal was a superb finish but why should a player be allowed to play against every other club apart from the one he is loaned from? What we dislike up here is the lackof respect from both the managers and the fans in the central belt . By the way , considering you only have to come up here twice a season that was a pathetic support you took up considering the so called good run you are on.

  13. I have just had a txt exchange with Tel seeking my advice - I have advised him to start off with Kerr and McBain, but to take Vigurs on fer Kerr on the hour. Kerr should be wound up fer the Hibees but wont last the pace - Vigurs then has half an hour to prove himself to put himself back in favour. I have also suggested that he puts Hastings back on the bench in case Lionel falters. He replied "Cheers IHE - food fer thought". Oh - and he is sticking by the other 9 who started at the Arabdome.

Very good source bud. That is exactly what i was told myself this afternoon.

  14. Robbo,

Falkirk apart, which of the other clubs towards the foot of the table do you think we're capable of catching and overtaking ?

i think this saturday could be crucial if st mirren win then it could be straight fight between us and falkirk ideal scenario mght actually be both bottom teams winning and trying to drag saints killi and hamilton back into it

    The more the merrier !

    correct!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hey Robbo, great to have you back online. Anyone who doubted your motives for coming on with your question and answer thread must surely realise now the genuine love you have for the club.I look forward to the day when you will return to us and will continue to enjoy your banter.

  15. Jim Jeffries should check out the highlights and the pictures and then apologise for his comments, how can he say it was a stonewall penalty from where he was?

[/quot I agree totally mate. Saw it on the news tonight and it confirmed what i thought on saturday. The foul [if there was one] was outside the box and Fernandez dived.Doubt very much if Jeffries will be man enough to admit his mistake.

  16. Personally I'd like to go as far as possible in the tournament rather than having a "glamour" match. For that reason I'd like either Falkirk or Hamilton at home.

I've got a funny feeling, however, that we'll be drawn against Aberdeen ( no disrespect to East Fife) at Pittodrie.

I would definately like to get Hamilton at home . we owe them a beating and under Terry i think we would beat them.

  17. I have been to the game today and saw him at the Celtic game and he just doesnt seem interested, His work rate is very poor and i think he has lost any edge he once had. I know he needs to be match fit but we have a great player who is match fit in Vigurs.

Vigurs should be back in the team

Are you real . The guy has not played 1st team football for months before he joined us. He is good in the air , not afraid to run at defenders and will definately get his share of goals when match fit . What exactly are you looking for in a player?

  18. I am really really disappointed in our ex manager. I gave him full support and believed that his injured shoulder was the main cause for him not pulling on a shirt and aiding our team when we needed a striker and, we so needed a striker - he must have, or should have, seen that a mile away.

Now, days later, out of a job, his shoulder is ok enough to get on his shirt and play for Ross County. What a poor show.

He had my support. Not now.

Maybe just maybe! he wanted to give his signings a chance to prove they could do better than a 41 year old, but deep down HE also knew they couldn't cut the mustard. WHAT THE FECK DO YOU THINK THAT WOULD HAVE DONE TO THEIR MORALE THEN IF HE HAD PULLED THE BOOTS ON AND THEN STATED PUBLICLY THEY WERE CR*P

Give the man a break, FFS

Give him a break. You have got to be joking m8. He showed a total contempt for our support and any of the players who dared doubt his management. Are you trying to tell me he could not have made himself available even as a substitute in our clubs greatest time of need . Wise up, they are welcome to the arrogant b.

  19. Vigurs is too lightweight and raw for me. He always shirks out of challenges and never goes for 50-50 balls.

Also why does he always go for the impossible 50 yard pass along the desk that has to be missed by at least 5 of the opposing players to get to a team-mate, instead of a simple 10 yard pass? :rotflmao:

I have watched i c t . since they were formed and without doubt Vigurs is the best prospect bar none. The difference in his physique in the last few months is quite noticeable and it is showing in his workrate as he is now doing his share defensively. To let him go without reaping the rewards both on the field and financially in the future would be a travesty for our club.

  20. To be honest, I felt we were really unlucky today!

First half both sides were nervous and didn't want to make the first mistake. They didn't really trouble us and likewise down the other end.

Second half there was only one team willing to play in difficult conditions.

The difference was the penalty which cannot be helped, these things happen when your bottom of the table and things aren't going your way.

But one aspect annoyed me and maybe it's been covered already. Andy Barrowman can't play in a 4-5-1 nor can Adam Rooney. Garry Wood can that's why we responded in the second half.

Also what's with the fifteen minute cameo role for Adam Rooney. Russell Duncan went off on the hour, why didn't Adam come on then and go..........wait for it...........4-4-2 for the final half hour and put Hamilton under even more pressure.

Their keeper looked so fragile today, I was dissapointed we only really tested him in the final third of the game.....

Aye and i suppose we have been unlucky the rest of the season. The league table does not lie. We are in this position because our management team only have one game plan and when that fails they are incapable of making constuctive changes.
  21. According to the P&J, http://www.pressandjournal.co.uk/Article.aspx/1031212 Iain Vigurs will "take his time before deciding whether or not to commit to the Inverness club" ...... The article goes on to say attribute the following comment to the player:

"I am still thinking about the club?s contract offer. It is still early and I am just concentrating on my football at the moment. It is a good sign for me that the club has come to me with a contract offer. It is great that the manager wants me for the next couple of seasons and I am in his plans. I have always said I want to stay here"

looks to me like we have given him an average offer at best and the standard two year contract which will lead to us losing him a year from now on a pre-contract if he progresses as well as most of us think he has the potential to do.

    Will we ever learn ?

Totally crazy. Young Ian is potentially the best prospect to come out of our club. What do we do give him a mediocre offer and more or less invite another club to snap him up for nothing. We should be giving him a 3 year contract he deserves and possibly somewhere along the line we would benifit financialy from our investment. Does that sound simple or is it rocket science?Bennet is a joke as a director of football.
