Not sure how much sense MacDonald signing for Burnley for another 12 months would be if he was coming back to us - but then again.... Burnley have offered new contracts to youngsters Wes Fletcher, Dominic Knowles, Alex MacDonald and Alex-Ray Harvey. Fletcher has made one substitute appearance for the Clarets and had a spell on loan at League Two's bottom club Stockport County earlier in the season. MacDonald, meanwhile, has featured eight times as a substitute during his Burnley career and has been on loan in the SPL with Inverness Caledonian Thistle since January. The duo, along with Knowles and Harvey, have been offered 12-month extensions to stay part of Eddie Howe's squad next season.

I agree - I think we will see a SPL player merry go round - what doesn't suit one intended style of play can be perfect for another - and as we know some players adapt well (and improve) in new surroundings and react positively when given a new challenge....
