    Players didn't give up just team lacks cutting edge as several chances created 2nd half but didn't make their keeper work enough. Commentators correct United just have that extra class of player and looked from outset a better footballing team. Thought Sutherland was best of the bunch in terms of effort and Esson save in 1st half kept us in game although even he didn't look as solid as normal. Bring on Kilmarnock and the hope that we can get back on track and 3pts but it's going to have to take an improvement on what was on show this evening.

    We've actually created chances Golabart, Sutherland, Tansey, Gnapka and MacKay. Both Golabart and MacKay should have done better with their efforts.

    If I recall correctly before tonight's yellow is Foran not the worst player in league on points total - guess he has now stretched his lead

    Not much in it - United look like they have the greater ability to pass the ball around. Thought Sutherland and Tade have toiled away but no real stand outs. Rankin strike was a good one. Poor clearance from Esson and lacklustre challenge from Foran who was more concerned with claiming for hand ball gave Rankin the chance to get space and pop the ball over Esson who was off his line. A big improvement needed for the 2nd half - if Utd get a 2nd I think it will be game over. Doesn't look too bad a crowd but seems like absolutely no atmosphere based on tv coverage.

    More stories emerging - both Port Vale and Portsmouth struggling to see out the season with players at Pompey not paid since December. I am sure there will be a few more to follow as more IR PAYE targets surface....

    If you include the old guard then it must be Kevin Mac with his old 1st div medal (pre EPL) and the 1986 FA cup final victory where he was part of the starting 11 in the days when there was only one sub. Of the new guard Cowie (League Cup Final) and Robson (SPL and SLC medals) are obviously the stand outs but who knows how Rooney may develop or how Cox will turn out on his return down south. The other who has had a good career and amassed quite a few medals is Barry Wilson with also his millennium goal feat. Also makes me think which ICT player (past or present) has collected the most medals at senior level?

    I guess I'll just have to expand to play and scored ;-) ....but I think Shearer might have played in a play off final there and the new man Gnapka although not yet ex both played and scored there.... Its always a little clearer the next morning when there are no R and C's involved.....
