  1. Many years ago, in Amsterdam on holiday and passed a kiosk selling papers, magazines, cigarettes etc. They also had posters for the latest Ajax game and you could buy tickets for the game. I did (ended up amongst the Ajax version of their casuals but that's another story!) so it doesn't need to be something fancy that needs to be set up.

  2. Agree with above. Should have been ahead at the end of the first half but the missed chances have come back to bite us. Actually said to the guy sitting next to me that White had his best game for ages at the end of the first half and he agreed but in the second half, he unfortunately reverted to the old Jordan White on many occasions. For his size, Jordon isn't nearly physical enough with defenders although in his defence, the amount of times he gets blatantly fouled by defenders, with nothing given, is unreal.

All 3 Partick goals came from poor defending yesterday, first goal started when Vincent failed to tackle in midfield, the defence let the player run at them and it looked, albeit from a distance, that Ridgers could have done better as he was beaten at his near post. Second goal was coming all afternoon as we were frequently caught in possession trying to do silly things and the third goal, while well created and finished, we simply allowed the Partick player to run at us. The second goal was obviously crucial as it gave Partick confidence, especially Kenny Miller who then came alive and, in truth, we should have lost more goals. This against a poor Partick side is a real wake up call to us.

Robbo needs to start getting a bit ruthless with certain players. Vincent was poor yesterday and cannot remember him making a tackle. This is where we lost the game in the second half as were overrun in midfield by Partick and don't think Robbo made the correct substitutions at the right time. I also think McGregor found it hard going at times, understandable of course as he needs more games at this level, but none of the other senior players seemed to be looking out for him and helping him  on the park.

While the referee did not influence the game, I thought he was poor. Missed many obvious fouls, for both sides, and seemed to think that if a player shouted when tackled or lay on the ground it had to be a foul regardless of whether the ball was cleanly won or not. How he took so long to book Fox for timewasting, when Fox was clearly taking the mickey out of the ref was really poor.

Shake up in the attitudes of some players required for next week with a difficult trip to Ayr.

  3. The sad thing is that, probably an extra 500 to 1000 fans each week would make a huge difference to the financial situation at the club. The city of Inverness appears to have no or little affinity from the public and probably not helped by local politicians who only come out of the woodwork to support the club when it is to their benefit to do so (David Stewart excepted). Maybe the club has to use the dreaded, use it or lose it ploy?

Did these guys not get given the reins because they were going to invest?

    Appears we've been duped.

Quotes wrong way round but have some board members already made substantial investments. The issue here is that not enough fans can be bothered to turn up each week and, in the Championship, that makes full time football difficult to sustain.

Dunfermline, the Dundee clubs, Patrick Thistle and even Falkirk all attract substantially more fans than us. If we cannot attract more fans then part time football is the only solution. If that happens, the fans have only themselves to blame.

Think Robbo got it totally wrong today player wise and formation and could have cost us the game.

Keatings was injured he should have pushed Vincent up into his role and brought in Welsh from the start to partner Carson as the two sitting midfielders. This would have kept the formation together that was successful against Morton by winning 5 nil.

However he opted to start with Storey and White up top in a four four two which just didnt work.Thankfully he changed it mid way through first half and put Storey wide of a front midfield three. This allowed us to start passing the ball much better.

Second half he started the game reverting back to a 442  and White was collecting the ball spraying passes wide and getting involved in the game so well only to be substituted bizarrely imo for Todorov who did absolutley nothing.

We got lucky with the pen and gained 3 points from a game that the management got completely wrong tactically and got a lucky break to gain 3 points.

If something isn't broke dont try and fix it Robbo 4231 was working fine for us and if Keatings is out then play young Roddy in there with Vincent and Welsh behind as sitting two. Play White up top as he is our best man up there by a country  mile  to link play up.

If Robbo is so insistent to play Storey then it has to be as a wide player to replace either Walsh or Doran and not changing formation to 442.

Lucky day at the office today by getting the pen.

Still some would say its better to be lucky than good.

Jordan White has his attributes but link up play certainly isn't one of them. Whether he was better yesterday, I cannot say as not at the game but that is something he really needs to work on.

  6. Like many fans, I have not been immune to swearing at games but my language has never been like the sort used by Morton fans on Friday. The club make announcements before games and have notices posted around the ground about fan behaviour and inappropriate language yet this was openly condoned by the stewards and/or club condoned this by doing nothing. There was a genuinely nasty atmosphere being created by the Morton scum, sorry fans, there on Friday. Worst fan behaviour outside of the ugly sisters.

  7. First half was pretty even although Morton had probably the better chances. These however came from poor defensive clearances from us and misplaced passed by our midfield and defence. The second goal settled us and we started to defend a lot better and the whole team kicked on as a result. We have been quite poor defensively recently and if we can carry on with last night's improvement, things are looking up

As for some posters criticising McCart, he has been our best defender this season whereas Donaldson has been a shadow of himself. Hopefully he will kick on with the improvement shown in the second half but needs to hugely improve on his distribution.

  8. I do think we have to make some changes and this is an ideal game to do so. MacGregor will give the team some much needed energy and while not knowing too much about Harper, worth throwing him in now when not under so much pressure.

  9. In the two home games I have seen, we have been poor defensively and lost goals by poorly defending crosses. We badly need a good defensive right back but we go and sign another forward??. The route 1 football we seem to be playing simply won't work with White as he isn't good enough in the air and his hold up play is poor. Would it be better with Todorov, possibly as he is better in the air and has more awareness of what is happening around him. We also scored two very good goals against Raith and Cove when we did move the ball quickly and wide so the potential is there. Trafford needs benched as he slows the game down too much and always receives the ball facing the wrong way. Give at least one of the youngsters a start on Saturday and see what happens.

  10. That's the problem defensively in a nutshell. Full backs are playing way to high and wide and this causes real problems. The centre backs are also playing far too square and one needs to tuck in beside the other. Really basic tactics that should be simple to work on.

  11. A poor performance from us but a deserved win which should have been much more comfortable.

Defensively we were poor and often played 2v 2 with the Cove strikers which almost ended badly on several occasions. God knows what position Brad was playing as it wasn't right back. Both Cove's goal came down the right side although Vincent should have done better at matching the Cove player's run and stopping the cross into the box. Defensively, we need to sharpen up especially Donaldson who has been poor both defensively and his distribution has been equally poor.

I also think tactically we were poor and the ploy of all our defenders up for corner's leaves us really vulnerable on the counter attack. Also, towards the end of the game, we stopped leaving men up the park which just invited Cove to send more players into our box. Robbi seems to be aware of these issues so hopefully they will be addressed.

I think Todorov must start ahead of White for several reasons. Firstly he is more mobile and brings players into the game, secondly, he makes runs that White doesn't and gambles and lastly, he will score more goals than White will.

  12. I think we have as realistic chance to win the Championship as anyone else. I don't think Utd have strengthened hugely, apart from Shankland and he will not win the Championship for Utd on his own. Dundee are a bit of an unknown quality but again haven't seen anything to hugely worry about in terms of signings. Rookie manager as well.Again, it is similar with Patrick, I haven't seen any significant signings. The only thing that would concern me is that the Dundee clubs have significant financial backing to change things as could Partick if they get taken over.

Robbie Neilson won the Championship with Rangers and Hibs involved. He also finished 3rd in the Premiership with Hearts, their best points total in 13 years.

    Give the guy some credit.

And has done exactly what since? Rangers were also a shambles at this time. Speaking to some Utd fans at the playoffs, they would have bee n happy to get shot of him because if poor management and performances.

  14. The point I was trying to make that signing Shankland guarantees nothing. If you rely on only one player for goals, if something happens to him, you have a problem, as happened to Ayr last season. Last season, Utd also had Safranko, who I think is a better player than Shankland and offered more to the team.

Utd have been favourites for the last 3 years and hugely under achieved and I don't see anything yet to indicate to me, that they are guaranteed to win the Championship. You need a good manager to do this and I am not convinced Neilson is a good manager.

We missed out on him last year. We never had a chance this time around.

I honestly don't think we have missed out with this. Surely a player of his supposed ability would want to try and better/improve his game which he will not do at Utd. Looks like he seriously lacks ambition which is a big failing in my opinion.

  16. But then you have to find replacements at this late stage, and with no realistic sums of money to do this, we are at a competitive disadvantage even before the season starts. Do you ever think your posts through?

No that good a gig now even the great man Yogi Hughes would struggle to get a tube out of our current squad! However there's another way of looking at it surely Robbos remit was promotion he's now failed in his 2nd attempt so a change of managements no the end of the world

Now here comes my rant for the season ...............

Officiating: quite honestly it's been horrendous and some of the worst I have ever seen across a season and that is not just confined to matches we've been involved in or our league, it's right across the board. The level of arrogance that our referees show towards players and staff is appalling and while they have a very difficult job to do, someone should remind them that they get paid for it and it's their job to keep order. Referees in other sports across the world can do it so why can't they.

One of my biggest gripes is the speed at which a referee, and they are all guilty, can't wait to get a card out. At times struggling to get a card out of their pocket while they run to an incident! Take some time, sort the situation out, pull players away, discuss the incident then produce a card if necessary. It projects a better form of control and sets the tone for the game but we don't appear to have one official that can do that nor the authorities to make it change.

It's no coincidence that this season has saw more managers than ever speaking out about the levels of refereeing in this country but still they are the ones that are punished, it's about time that the beaks in charge started to deal with the situation properly instead of making managers and players the scapegoats.

Glad to see it's not just me who thinks that referees (and all the officials) act in a much more arrogant manner than previously. Sights of referees/fourth officials wagging their fingers at players/managers as if they were naughty schoolboys, is just embarrassing and you rarely see foreign officials do this. Refereeing standards do seem t be declining globally but the refereeing in Scotland this season has been really really poor and affected most teams (with the possible exception of Rangers). Surely someone sees the glaring mistakes made by the referees and takes them aside to discuss, if they do it doesn't work as they seem to continue making the same mistakes (Andrew Dallas and poor penalty decisions anyone). Part of the problem is that I am convinced referees now seem to be guessing at decisions, possibly as they feel they have to make a decision but so often, they get it wrong and suffer the consequences for it when making a decision only when 100% sure would save them untold grief.

A great season u smoking crack my man the only highlight was a couple of cup games the rest was tbh hard to watch at times can count on 1 hand the amount of times I left the ground and thought that was a belting game !

Tell you what Alan, as I don't think you have ever had anything positive to say about the team, why don't you find another team to bitch and moan about as you bring nothing positive or constructive to this debate.
