That said, there is potentially still a fair amount of apathy towards / burnt bridges with the club for a lot of fans after the mess of the last few months / couple of years. Whilst many would normally want to do their bit to help support the club after how so many fans have been treated they will be thinking twice about digging into their pockets even with the likes of Gardiner gone.

There is also no small matter of the ongoing demand for money from the aforementioned former CEO whose shadow hangs around like a bad smell, and some comments from AS that show we are not out of the woods yet. Some may be reticent to part with cash in those circumstances if they think it will end up in the wrong pockets or in administrators' hands instead of the club.  Its a catch-22 situation, and I have to admit that the same thought crossed my mind as I contacted Keith to ask him to bill us for the player sponsorships.

I do have to admit that I did prefer to have a beer or several at the Innes before the game, avoided the sports bar, and just got to my seat at around 2:59pm. I tended to avoid hospitality because it meant an early start at the stadium, a suit and tie job (at that time), and then a long night .....

Wonder if there are any innovative ideas on what might be more popular? I know at TFC they have a buffet type arrangement for what they call the "tunnel club" and fans who have bought premium season tickets that include this option for the entire season, can simply float from table to table like you might in a pub and go grab food (or drink) as needed. No formal sit down or three course meals. I can't afford that personally, so for the plebs like me, there is the option of a beer garden that opens early and serves bottled beer at normal prices (as opposed to stadium prices) in an effort to get more people to the stadium early. There are random prizes or swag to be grabbed to entice people to attend. Perhaps we can take the grains of ideas like this or others and see how they might be scaled to ICT size?

  2. Well, we got there folks. Many thanks for this. We will now sponsor the home top for two players. I will let Keith know to invoice us and get it paid. I will leave the sponsorship opportunity open just in case we do get any stragglers wanting to add more to the campaign, and if we do get any more then this will be used to perhaps sponsor some lesser (cheaper) items from the players who still have slots available. We will use the poll results to decide who if we get to that point.

I’m chuckling at the thought of someone launching a crowdfunding appeal to help SG. It’s almost worth doing just to see the comments it would attract. 🤣

May not reach its target quite as quickly as Aaron Doran's!!

This conversation does however highlight one area where our former CEO has succeeded, and on that front, he has succeeded beyond his wildest dreams. He has managed to get an entire city, not just the supporters of the club, to revile and despise him and that loathing also spreads nationally and internationally. I guess Dundee and Hearts were just the warmup. Personally, anytime I hear the name, I seethe more than Derek Adams on a bad day.

I guess he is trying to get every penny he can out of us, because unless it is Ketan, then a quick google of his name would bring up so many red flags that any employer in almost any field should quickly say no thanks. Or will he use that £140K to fund his lawyers to get google to remove him from search results.

I really hope AS finds something in the forensic audit to wipe the smirk of his face, or maybe we can charge him a £20 admin fee for each of the 7000 unread emails? and, it has to be said, who in the **** accepted a 12 month notice period from anyone. If you would not put someone on 12-month notice, then you don't accept a resignation with that term.  We tossed players aside like rubbish, yet the one position that should have been put in the dustbin is lining up for a golden handshake. feckin' unbelievable.

  4. it is just revenue in the same way as merch or ticket sales. Not specifically going to the actual player. We held our nose for a few years and continued it while the former CEO was there, but we suspended it last year (like a lot of people) as we simply could not justify it any more.

If this is a subject for wider discussion I would suggest it gets its own thread. As noted above, this thread will be tidied up (and closed) as its really only for getting the names and not a discussion thread per-se.

    One closer.

    Have you tried Alan Savage?

    Ketan Makwana?

We did have someone say they would like a digital subscription to try and win a physical shirt from one of the sponsored players ... I think they called it a phygital experience ... but the money never materialised when the checkout button appeared.

However, your contribution was received so another step closer 🙂

…if the Makwana deal hadn’t been stopped in its tracks then I don’t think the club would have survived until the end of the season September

    fixed it for ya.

Find it hard that the article has mentioned Robbos name when there is the likes of Barry Wilson who's owed 12k Billy Dodds 20k the list will go on but they have named dropped John for a reason .. who knows what that reason may be but just seems strange when there is more owed to other people. For what it's worth John offered to work his notice was told by SG no , he offered to reduce his redundancy terms was told no by SG , finger is being pointed at the wrong man here

No idea why Robbo is mentioned, was it the journalist doing some self-protection by picking a name so it could not be said the focus was on defaming the former CEO? or was it the club dropping a name? If the journalist, then perhaps Robbo was chosen as it is known there is some animosity towards him for frequently working for the BBC in Dingwall when his club were playing a game that he perhaps should have been at attendance at instead, and there would also be disappointment as we appear to have (rightly) bent over backwards to accommodate him when he was going through a tough time. If he is owed a legitimate payment, then so be it.  Same with anyone else. The likes of Dodds and Barry (and Robbo) are not likely to be made of money so should be paid what they are due.

I think AS has the finger pointed at one individual in all of this and inevitably others may get mentioned in dispatches during this battle.

Sounds like all the parasites are crawling out of the woodwork. Robbo has a brass neck considering we stuck by him through difficult times and even created a nothing, well-paid, BS job for him when he wasn't capable of being manager by his own admission. Even allowed him plenty time to work a second job while we had games on.

Gardiner's gall has perhaps given an opportunity to really scrutinise his tenure and conduct which will hopefully come back around and bite him on the erse.

I thought that one of the main reasons for creating a separate Concert Company was to protect the Football Company from any financial misfortune. On that basis, it seems difficult to see how the football club could be liable for money that may have been loaned to the now defunct CC. If Gardiner did lend money to the CC, then I would take a huge drink of schadenfreude at the thought that he has been hoist with his own petard and finds himself in the same position as a list of honest local traders who were out of pocket when a company in which he played a central role failed and collapsed.

I trust that any audit will be thorough and forensic in the extreme, because among other things it is absolutely necessary to establish whether there has been any activity that might be judged negligently incompetent or even criminal, and which might therefore become a potential cause for legal proceedings. In that event, perhaps any such proceedings could be held at the Caledonian Stadium where a sell-out crowd - unlike the previous concerts - would generate record profits.

That audit could perhaps start by addressing how a company that was meant to be economising could lose over £3 million in three years, including, in 2023-24, a massive £1.7M which means that what it spent in that year was around 75% more than it earned.

I think that our former CEO may well have indeed opened a pandora's box that will be an even greater downfall for him. AS is doing everything at his own cost, not the club's and seems motivated to find any and all wrongdoing. I have to believe that this is what he wanted in the first place so he could - in his own words - 'deal with it'

As for Robbo - disappointed on that front.

  9. Saw this in my email from the club and then the Supporters Trust followed up with the email quoted below:

You have been asking for this and now it’s here!  Supporters hospitality returns for the home game against Cove on Saturday 21st of September. Priced at only £50 (inc VAT) for season ticket holders or £70 (inc VAT) if you don’t have a season ticket, you can enjoy full pre match hospitality in the Highlander Lounge that includes a free drink on arrival & after the game (pay bar for rest of the day), 1 course curry lunch, halftime pies and, various player/former player interviews plus much more. Come along and enjoy a great day out and watch ICT in the best way possible.

The Supporters Trust would like to thank Scott Young for all his hard work to make this happen and hopefully we can sell the room out for the game.

  10. Great topic!!!

    • Year 1 = Survival
In the first 12 months, on and off the pitch, get a grip on the outstanding issues, plug the holes AS has found, stop the hemorrhaging of money. Look to reverse the negative trends of the past 5 years by being open and honest with the players, the staff, and the fans and try to maintain a steady position in the league. Playoffs or promotion would be a bonus, as would any windfalls from previous ventures (eg battery farm).  Complete the forensic audit and take appropriate actions based on the result.

    • (By) Year 3 = Consolidation
By year 3 we should be back in the Championship (or pushing for it) as that will bring a little more revenue by itself and should be the lowest base level that we are willing to accept. That may sound arrogant, but as one of the few full-time teams in League One, we should at the very least be challenging. Off the field we should hopefully now be generating more business and cashflow by having won back previous business and personal stakeholders/sponsors and working to maintain those relationships rather than just have unfounded expectations or a sense of entitlement. An increase in sponsorship, higher season ticket and merchandise sales and a willingness to be out in the community fostering good relations should also help us consolidate and get back to where we were prior to 2019. Whatever we do, we have to try and get as close to balancing the books as possible. Fiscal responsibility should be the core principle. As a side project we should also be looking at realistic non-football ways to generate revenue. I do not know what these are, but the stadium location next to a freeport and main transit routes both land and sea should have some merits worth exploring. Some of the ideas could be pie-in-the-sky plans like those of our former CEO, or less likely to succeed, but provided we do not step over others to get there, nor base our operating accounts on getting any such high-risk high-reward ventures over the line then there is no harm in dreaming, provided we are getting the basics right.

    • (By) Year 5 = (Re)Growth
By year 5 we should be back in the top half of the Championship, with the odd cup run to help keep the books looking healthier and pushing for at least a playoff, if not a championship winning run. This is where we should have been in 2017 but we went in the opposite direction gathering pace until almost crashing off the rails this year as we all know. The aim at the end of 5 years should be promotion back to the premiership. By now our youth system should hopefully have recovered and we may have uncovered a couple of gems who we can get behind or even sell-on to generate a little more revenue. Perhaps we have also now established links with other clubs, either through an investor who owns multiple clubs (as AS noted a few weeks ago) or because we are once again an attractive destination to farm out loan players to get them developed (but not at the cost of any highly rated local talent). Then we continue to consolidate and grow as we did between 2004 and 2017. No matter how tempting it is, we must also keep our core principles of fiscal responsibility and community responsibility firmly in sight.

I have purposely not gone into the level of detail as Big Cherly but can't really argue any of the points raised. All good things to bring up and all good things that may warrant further inspection. Some of the 'little things' like repairs, de-weeding, painting are all things people have volunteered for before and perhaps this new era can see the club once again appreciate volunteers and those who seek to help primarily because they are simply fans of the club and not because they are looking for favours or financial gain ... a cynical viewpoint those running the club have taken at certain times over the years. Provided we move forward then the timeline can be adjusted. it took 10 years to get to the SPL based on the "Road to Premier League" document Dougie McGilvray and the board at the time produced in 1994 and there were a lot of twists and turns along the way. However, we did it within the 10-year plan, and if we make a realistic plan now, we can do it again.

It's a Ticketmaster thing. I also get the same thing when I try to manage my Toronto FC tickets using my work laptop connected to VPN. If I disconnect VPN or use my personal machine that is not on VPN then no problem.

    P&J article from Paul Chalk

Sheriff officers visited Caledonian Stadium on Friday regarding the matter.

It is understood the demand for money relates to finances Gardiner claims he is due as a result of previous loans made to the club during his time as CEO.

Consultant and former chairman Alan Savage said: “The club has been served today by sheriff officers a demand for loans made by Scot Gardiner to the club, but I believe that one of the loans was made to the concert company (Inverness Caley Thistle Concert Company Ltd), which has been liquidated.

“Interestingly, there was no paperwork received with the threat. It is just his word.

“We will be dealing with it.”

Gardiner, whose five-year spell at ICT came to an end last month, has been contacted for comment.

There are very few times I use the word 'hate' as I find it too extreme an emotion in most cases. I would rather dislike, distrust, or have other negative feelings towards a person, place or entity. However, this person falls into the category of people I absolutely hate without reservation or chance of redemption. And all of this despite never actually meeting the person.  I cannot even put into words what I think as it would surely put me into danger of being sued for defamation or libel.

Suffice to say I have heard most of the stories out of the stadium or out in public that reference his style, or how he dealt with situations, or people. Some of these things sounded pretty shady and I really hope that AS has had the opportunity to discover them and see if any of these can be used to "deal with it" as he noted in the article.

  13. Personally I like it. The colour scheme works (not too far away from my son’s away kit for his team as posted earlier) and the badge is something different to mark the 30 years. Designed by a fan and looks good imho. Think I may be tempted to order this one.

Toronto FC did similar for their kit and badge in recent seasons. A new badge (simplified) but not the official one and they usually stick it on what they call a community kit (3rd kit). The first team strip is actually fan designed for the last couple of seasons although this year that one is bogging!

if this design was approved by our former CEO then I will say that’s one decision he may have got right, even if the strips weren’t ordered or perhaps paid for before the season started.
