ICT -V- Partick Th :Matchday Thread
and there is a perfect example of the arrogance I talked of. Partick are not a pub team and we are not exactly Real Madrid or Man Utd !! It can happen on one-off occasions or perhaps when we play the likes of the OF but in general I agree with you .... the worrying thing is we have now played 3 home games in the league and lost two of them conceding 6 in the process [Home Record: P3 W0 D1 L2 - F3 A6 - Pts 1]

second half - sounds like we fought hard to get back in it and piled on the pressure sp perhaps there are pass marks for that ..... BUT the simple fact is that we should not be putting ourselves in a position where we are 3-0 down at HT in the first place.

I just hope the reality check reaches the team and management too !!!! I have said it before and I will say it again but there is an element of arrogance that pervades part of our support and dare I say it our team as well that seems to think we are too good for this division and should "rightfully" be in the SPL ..... to think that is total bollox The sooner we realise we are in the single hardest division in Scotland to get promoted from, and that other teams are not as mediocre as we would like to think, the better. We have to work hard, work as a team, not underestimate the opposition and not chop and change our team every single week if we are to have any chance.

I still say you have to give a new manager at least one full season (even said it about CB too) - but definitely not a happy bunny today. I understand some names in the lineup may have been put in there through necessity due to injury or whatever, but it is the job of TB and MM to get the best out of what they do have and they are not doing that yet .....

I very much doubt we can do an "Ayr" and be 0-3 down at HT and go on to win 4-3. not ready to blast anyone yet (based on the scoreline alone) but it sounds like a serious post-mortem is required

Formartine United Sign....
Touche Pimple I was trying to make the point that the idea of "coming to America" [ie. MLS] because he no longer appears to be good enough for a Scottish League team in any division was not as easy as might be thought. Seems I made a similar assumption/mistake about USL and I will freely admit to not having watched a USL game since TFC came along. Whether it is the poster or the player who is making the assumption about MLS, the simple fact is that it is no longer just a place for failed professionals or decent players now entering their own personal "twilight" zone. Quality has improved and there are loads of good young players around. Yes there are older players from Europe or South America in some sides, but usually, they have a pedigree of some sort ..... Freddie Ljunberg, David Beckham, Cuauht?moc Blanco, Guillermo Schelotto, Julian De Guzman etc etc etc. PM could get himself a "roster" spot with some team but he would have to impress .... his designation would be "senior international" as he would be a "foreigner" over the age of 24 and teams only have so many of those coveted spots to make available !

Oh aye County
did you read the posts before yours ? if so, you might get the gist of it !

this could also be right, he is certainly a confidence player .... hopefully our current "confidence player", a certain Mr Barrowman got some of that last week.

Oh aye County
that is the vital phrase ... it is this phrase that stopped Falkirk sharing the Shyberry (Excelsior) Stadium when they were denied promotion for the 2nd time, it was this phrase which would have stopped us sharing McDiarmid, and it is this phrase that would stop county sharing the TCS if they did actually win the title ..... At least if you groundshare with a team in the same division (SPL), the SPL can chop and change the dates at will ...... another good reason for only having a single governing body .... If sharing is good enough for Bayern/1860 and AC/Inter, and the Maracana can be shared by 4 teams, then surely a petty rule like this is totally bogus !!!

Good luck to him. I have a soft spot for QOS that developed over years of socialising with their fans so if he is somewhere other than ICT then thats a good one to go to. Him and Barry teaming up again, there should be a few goals in that !!!! I have mixed feelings but overall, I am kind of happy he didnt come back here ..... I like Dennis. On and off the field he is a thoroughly top bloke and his status as an ICT legend is assured ... However, if he were to have come back for a 3rd stint at ICT, I think it could have tarnished the legend. I dont think he could be as good as his first spell at ICT, and although we have dropped a division - which might make life easier for him - the 1st is still a hard division so he wouldnt have been as good as his second stint either. It kind of reminds me of the talk about Bobby Mann when he played in Barry's testimonial ... a lot of folk reminisced about how good he was in his heyday and how good he was in a one-off friendly bounce match, but if we had acted on that and signed him, we would soon have regretted it I think. same on this one I am afraid.

Formartine United Sign....
At least 6-7 months then as the MLS season is winding down now (last 3 weeks of normal season then playoffs) and doesnt start back up again until April 2010 If he is going to play at that level for 7 months before heading over the pond then I would guess he hasnt got anything lined up and will tout himself round the MLS during the spring training camps that most sides have .... I would be very surprised if anyone picks him up, perhaps he will end up in USL (the leagues below MLS).

Motherwell V ICT :matchnight thread
We are playing an away game against a team from a higher division, a team that have not lost a domestic game this season (yet), and who even in our SPL days we would be happy to get a draw with at Fir Park. A defensive formation and hoping to catch them on the counter attack makes sense to me. Our squad is not exactly brimming with options and given some of the injuries we have and the suspension of Tokely for this match, its hard to see who else we would put in that would do a better job ? Yes we could have had McBain in there, that might be a mistake, but who else ??? I cant say I like the lack of diversity of our bench, but again, what are the realistic options ?

Half-Time DVD for some of our posters ;) We are down, but not out ... where is that belief !!! The text updates on the BBC site make it sound like we didnt do that badly .... 6 shots to Well's 5 ... our biggest problem seems to be that all 6 of ours were off target and two of theirs were on target ! time for the Beer Girls to make a re-appearance I think :P
