  1. Sound like a bunch of pricks right enough, was it to do with yous being ICT fans or something? People like this should be kept away from football, choosing to wind up opposition fans rather than support their own 'team' - pathetic really.

    DYT??

    Deaf Youth Theatre??

  2. I dont have much of a problem with swearing , kids hear as much in the playground

What annoys me is the so called fans who whinge & moan about their own team

What results do they expect with so much negativity

Did you do anything to create some positivity? If not then you are as much to blame.

As for the swearing, deserves it's own topic really, I was listening to Off the ball on the way home and a couple of callers mentioned that the poor state of our national side could have a lot to do with the lack of kids using parks to kick a ball about. Could this be because so many parents are wrapping their kids up in cotton wool and not letting them leave the house in case they hear the odd bad word? Get a grip people, the raised emotions that are part and parcel of football lead to the odd sweary word coming out. Complaints about no atmosphere, complaints when we have atmosphere. At least we don't have our kids listening to hate filled bigoted bile at TCS.

I think you summed it up there by saying "the odd sweary word"... i think any reasonable person expects to hear a few sweary words in most walks of life most certainly including football... i think it is totally unreasonable however to expose children to an environment where every 2nd word they hear is a swear of some sort... i certainly dont hear any of my friends swearing in front of their kids in that manner... maybe thats the way i have been brought up and the friends i choose to keep... but i would like to think that I am fairly normal... so why should going to a football game be any different... we had season tickets last year also in the north stand but in a different section and there was never an issue,,,

Maybe its a sad reflection of society in general that most people nowadays have such a limited vocabulary that they have to resort to foul language to express themselves... i can also see that most fellow ICT fans find it acceptable, so maybe im wrong... but it is certainly putting me off and so i thought i would have a rant on here!!!

PS - You also mentioned: At least we don't have our kids listening to hate filled bigoted bile at TCS. - what was being shouted at one of our own players today by a few mindless numpties was a disgrace and could have been deemed an offence under the law

To address the PS first, I never heard anything of that nature and couldn't comment. Would you like to expand?

As for what you describe as a sad reflection on our society about limited vocabulary when I first started to attend football matches violence, drunkenness, hatred, bigotry, urinating in terracing, broken glass, pickpocketing and all sorts of other unsavoury practices were common place. I believe that we should consider ourselves lucky that our game has progressed to the stage where a bit of colourful language is the worst we can expect at TCS. These words can be heard almost anywhere, like said before probably most prevalent on school playing fields or play parks I probably would not have taken my kids to a football match before they were in their teens if this was still the 1980s I consider myself lucky that I can take them now.

Put brilliantly Birdog. Personally i would have prefered to still have the football the way it used to be. Then it was how football really should have been. I think all this about the swearing is just another case of overprotection by parents.

Also, Bigoted? I see you havnt been out of the TCS much in your life? Do you know what Bigot means?

I take it you are referring to Birdog's post as I didnt once refer to what was shouted at Kyle as Bigoted... i was referring to it as hate filled bile :)

  4. Aye some idiot behind me during the second half was shouting "Here it comes" every time Ayr started to attack our goal... It was like he was willing us to lose...

    Really, positive.. supporting that !!

Nevermind the booing... the language was atrocious today from a lot of the fans... every song that was sung (just about) by mostly fairly young lads had a swear every two words... so much so I had to move seats (with the 3 kids I had with me) to near the front mid way through the 1st half... it also appears that swearing is the only vocabulary some grown men who attend football matches use, even those with wee kids... not the family friendly atmosphere we used to have at ICT... i know I cant expect the kids never to be exposed to foul language, but its a sad state of affairs when every word they hear is a swear...

I will have to see the club on Monday or Tuesday to try and change our season ticket seats.... very sad...

  5. I'd feel sorry for the fans of any other team , even County (maybe), but Livi deserve all they get.. 2nd rate Gretna

Livi were living well beyond their means LONG before Gretna even got into the SFL

    really?

At least Gretna went out with a bang while Livi have been disolving very slowly for years

It's better to burn out than to fade away as Neil Young once said.

    When did I say that???

  6. We had 4 last season. Didn't manage every game and some of us managed a few. There were very few weeks when all the tickets were used.

This season, due to financial contsraints, we won't be renewing them all - maybe one or 2... The costs of travel and accommodation are too much now...

I have got 2 tickets again this season... 1 adult and 1 child... 1 thing worries me a bit though... Apart from the cover being a different colour... nothing on the season ticket itself differentiates between an adult and a childs ticket... last season i noticed several previously "child" seats being taken up by adults... therefore costing the club revenue...

My point is.... how does the club stop an adult using a childs season ticket?

  7. Yeah sounds a good idea. But is it possible to get it working? I think it could prove very difficult though. You also need someone that can be arsed sitting and commentating through a whole game.

I wouldnt mind giving it a go!!! My only claim to fame is "commentating" on the Superbowl a couple of years back on the fanzone section :) So no expert, but would be happy to try it

  8. Signing for Motherwell.

Not sure if it's a pre-contract or if we've been made an offer to let him go now.

    What's the source?

lets be honest here he would be a loss but no great loss, after todays events perhaps would be a good time for a few more to move on as well, cause whoever comes in will not want all of CBs players anyway.

Here is the Link - according to BBC website he has signed a pre contract agreement:
