  1. I saw it the same way... only bit of violence was a Dons fan pushing the face of one of the ICT loons... What would have been interesting is if some of the Aberdeen Casuals had been in the area... I get the feeling our youngsters might have had a good doing over... most of them looked like they were just out of nappies!! Hopefully they don't try the same against the Hibees in the quarterfinal... carnage lol!!
  2. Any idea when away game in Dingwall and home against Hibs (previously scheduled for 1 Feb) will both be rescheduled for?? Thought the County game would have been played before now.
  3. http://www.footballconference.co.uk/news/details.php?news_id=7234 Gary Warren has spurned offers from a number of English clubs to sign for Scottish Premier League club Inverness Caledonian Thistle. The Newport County skipper, who also played for Mangotsfield United and Team Bath, was a key part of the Exiles' squad who reached the FA Carlsberg Trophy final at Wembley, where they lost to York City. However, the lure of playing top-flight football under the management of legendary England centre half Terry Butcher at the Tulloch Caledonian Stadium has taken him to the Highlands. Newport director of football Tim Harris said that the move north of the border was too good for Warren to turn down. "While we are disappointed for ourselves we are over the moon for Gary," Harris said. “This is a huge move for him, to play in the top tier of Scottish football, and we feel proud of him after he's been such a colossal player for us over the years."

For what it is worth... I was 17 when the 2 clubs merged... used to live near Jags park, so went to most of their home games... my dad was also a Highland League linesman, so managed to get to a few away games too... I supported the team from the merger but didnt go to many of the games as I could not bring myself to chant for C*ley... I have been a season ticket holder for 6 or 7 seasons now and I am only just beginning to be able to chant the aforementioned word...

  12. Edinburgh Capitals offer to SPL Football Fans 3rd December 2010 Edinburgh Capitals are offering a 50% discount to season tickets holders of all SPL teams this weekend. The season ticket holders need to provide proof of their identification and show their season ticket to qualify for the discount. The Capitals have two home games this weekend against the Belfast Giants with both face offs scheduled for 6pm on Saturday and Sunday. A Capitals spokesman said, "We would like to encourage as many sports fans to come to the games this weekend and experience the atmosphere of a Capitals v Giants double header. Despite the weather the Giants fans are travelling in numbers and the weekend is always a great spectacle of hockey and a great party for the fans." "Safety comes first when deciding to travel and we encourage all fans to prepare and look at all options when deciding to come to the games. Local transport, taxi's and the healthy option of walking are all alternatives to perhaps digging the car out of the snow but we are confident it will be worth the effort." There has been a big effort from Murrayfield Ice Rink staff to ensure the rink and car park is prepared for the weekend and the Capitals look forward to welcoming the Giants, their fans and ex Edinburgh Coach Doug Christiansen to Edinburgh for the games. Edinburgh Capitals Ice hockey team play in the UK's Top league the Elite Ice Hockey League. Ice hockey is a fast and exciting game with goals hits and action for the full 60 minutes. Split into 3X 20 minute periods where the whistle stops the clock you can expect to spend approximately 90 to 120 minutes watching the hottest game on ice. Tickets can be purchased on the night of the game at the box office or online at http://edinburgh-capitals.com/shop/catalog.php?category=Tickets
  13. Our own "official" website must be one of the worst!!!
  14. This might be better pinned at the top of this forum. Just to inform everyone that once again D&E Coaches will (from this Saturday 31st July) be providing a shuttle bus to and from the Tulloch Caledonian Stadium on every match day. This bus will leave the bus station 45 minutes before kick-off and return 10 minutes after the finish of the game. Cost is just ?2 single and concession cards are accepted.
  15. Who is new GK coach??
  16. Why does our own "official" website have no info??
  17. Max signs for Inverness Caledonian Thistle Max has signed a one year profesional contract for Scotish Premier League side Inverness Caledonian Thistle, following three happy years in the Newcastle United Academy. Max is excited and looking forward to this SPL season.
  18. The goalkeeper bit is true according to the lads website http://www.maxjohnson.net/ The Israeli striker was at trial at Rangers a year or 2 ago and according to web reports made a good impression
  19. Free Soviet Polo Shirt (?5 postage) at The Hut through USC Basically, the Hut has a deal on with USC and The Scottish Sun Newspaper. They have a selection of Soviet polo shirts in various colours linked to Scottish Football teams. Don`t worry English Team supporters, they don`t have any badges etc linking them to the clubs, just the colours. So I`d imagine if you see a colour you like its not an issue. Basically add the ?25 polo shirt to the basket and enter the following secret code that was in the newspaper: USC Takes ?25 off the total leaving just the ?5 postage to pay. According to the info you will alos recieve a ?5 voucher to spend at USC. Worth noting that agreeing to order one of these automatically means you accept contact from The Hut and USC it seems to say in small print. Fill your boots. The Hut reviews (10) Tags: (Add a tag)

Did you do anything to create some positivity? If not then you are as much to blame. As for the swearing, deserves it's own topic really, I was listening to Off the ball on the way home and a couple of callers mentioned that the poor state of our national side could have a lot to do with the lack of kids using parks to kick a ball about. Could this be because so many parents are wrapping their kids up in cotton wool and not letting them leave the house in case they hear the odd bad word? Get a grip people, the raised emotions that are part and parcel of football lead to the odd sweary word coming out. Complaints about no atmosphere, complaints when we have atmosphere. At least we don't have our kids listening to hate filled bigoted bile at TCS. I think you summed it up there by saying "the odd sweary word"... i think any reasonable person expects to hear a few sweary words in most walks of life most certainly including football... i think it is totally unreasonable however to expose children to an environment where every 2nd word they hear is a swear of some sort... i certainly dont hear any of my friends swearing in front of their kids in that manner... maybe thats the way i have been brought up and the friends i choose to keep... but i would like to think that I am fairly normal... so why should going to a football game be any different... we had season tickets last year also in the north stand but in a different section and there was never an issue,,, Maybe its a sad reflection of society in general that most people nowadays have such a limited vocabulary that they have to resort to foul language to express themselves... i can also see that most fellow ICT fans find it acceptable, so maybe im wrong... but it is certainly putting me off and so i thought i would have a rant on here!!! PS - You also mentioned: At least we don't have our kids listening to hate filled bigoted bile at TCS. - what was being shouted at one of our own players today by a few mindless numpties was a disgrace and could have been deemed an offence under the law To address the PS first, I never heard anything of that nature and couldn't comment. Would you like to expand? As for what you describe as a sad reflection on our society about limited vocabulary when I first started to attend football matches violence, drunkenness, hatred, bigotry, urinating in terracing, broken glass, pickpocketing and all sorts of other unsavoury practices were common place. I believe that we should consider ourselves lucky that our game has progressed to the stage where a bit of colourful language is the worst we can expect at TCS. These words can be heard almost anywhere, like said before probably most prevalent on school playing fields or play parks I probably would not have taken my kids to a football match before they were in their teens if this was still the 1980s I consider myself lucky that I can take them now. Put brilliantly Birdog. Personally i would have prefered to still have the football the way it used to be. Then it was how football really should have been. I think all this about the swearing is just another case of overprotection by parents. Also, Bigoted? I see you havnt been out of the TCS much in your life? Do you know what Bigot means? I take it you are referring to Birdog's post as I didnt once refer to what was shouted at Kyle as Bigoted... i was referring to it as hate filled bile :)
