  1. I suspect the actual date may be later than March 2009.  ICTFC are running a number of events in the spring of next year and another legends night might not be advisable at that time.  However, it WILL most certainly happen again and The Mantis will be amongst the first to konw about it.

  2. Why Billy Dodds?

    Fair question.

    1. Well connected, having played for half the teams in Scotland

    2. Articulate

    3. I believe he's keen to move into management / coaching

    4. Using untried managers is a model that has worked well for ICT thus far - we've still to sack one

    4. Affordable - at least as he starts to make his way in the management game

  3. I really hope Brew does fantastically well next season.  It's going to be challenging and a really good number of new faces will be required this summer.

Sooner or later, though, he will jump or be pushed.  At that point I would like to see the name of Billy Dods considered as a potential replacement.

  4. I can understand some fans' frustrations here but please also remember this.

This game is not being organised by ICT but by Barry's Testimonial Committee.  ICT staff are selling these tickets over and above their normal duties as a courtesy to Barry.

Once again I'm flummoxed by representatives of the Supporters Trust jumping to the indefensible defense of the club when really there's no reason why they couldn't have obliged fans on Saturday after the game.

They might be doing it as a courtesy, but when they advertise they are selling tickets until "close of business" then that's what they should have been doing.  Seems to me that they were all far more interested in shutting up shop ASAP so they could all join the end of season p*ss-up in hospitality.

I'm not trying to defend anybody.  Just making a statement of fact that some people are probably unaware of.

  6. Thanks to all who came along.  As usual, it was a really enjoyable evening.  Great to see Messrs Black, Imrie, Proctor and Wilson in attendence also.

Finally, as the newly appointed Chairman of the Trust, it's only right I pay tribute to Maimie and L_G who did the bulk of the organising.  If I didn't say that they'd batter me!  :015:

  7. Celebrate the end of this season at the next Supporter's Trust bowling night.

Friday 16th May, Rollerbowl Inverness, 6.30 for 7.00pm.

Please try to book in advance to allow us to allocate enough lanes.  Only ?5 a head for 2 games.  We hope to have some players along as we have done in the past.

    ALL WELCOME

To book you can send a PM either to myself of Maimie or if you can text or phone the Trust mobile - 07879 221569.

See you all on the 16th

Tonight's the night.  Still time to get your name down.  Always a good event.

  8. Get your tickets sooner rather than later.  I believe that season ticket holders are nearly all buying up extra tickets and interest is great from those who can't buy tickets till Monday.  So, if you are eligible, try getting them before Saturday when the ticket office are anticipating a busy time in the run up to the St Mirren match.

  9.   Having been brought up in the posher side of the town (Hilton) I was always a staunch Thistle

supporter and enjoyed their many successes.  I always felt that hte merger was forced on us

by the other side and they got the better of the bargain.  However I have my happy

memories. seldom miss a home game now.

It's a well known fact that that the stigma of coming from Hilton only decreased (and then marginally) when 10CC became ICT manager.

  10. While everybody is entitled to their opinion, use match day to be positive, getting behind the team and management.  Personally, I don't like to see such banners at the stadium.
