  1. Enjoyed the game, lots of good stuff on the deck. Thought young Josh Meekings had a great game at the back, only flaw he could have done better for their goal but very promising display all round.

  2. Charles, the people who pay you to commentate and comment are more guilty than anyone else of bemoaning the north south devide. I am also saddened by the fact you choose to portray your personal political views in this conversation. Neither you nor I know how a free Scotland will be divided or united.

  3. Fully agree with Renegade and sincerely hope that the club take on board the views of the fans and Rangers are most definately not allowed into the SPL as a newco.

I noted Caley D's comments earlier today on another thread in connection with the SPL's own rules and current applications from Dundee and Falkirk. Interesting standpoint to consider if the chairmen bottle it and allow Rangers in as a newco with no sanctions applicable. I'm sure both of these clubs and of course Dunfermline as well would have something to say on the matter.

  4. I'm going to open a can of worms here and state that after the game against Hibs I was told Roscoe was going to County. I hinted at this in my post on page one of this thread, however wished for a resolution from within to keep him at the club.

I'm not so naive as to apportion blame for the whole sorry fiasco, there are obviously underlying issues and Ross was covering his options before it hit the press. Say or think what you like about honesty and injured parties, but hey let's face it...........when and where were honesty and integrity last associated with football.

I'm truly sorry to see the guy go, no one will ever equal his achievement of one club at all senior levels in Scotland, now all I wish for is Butcher to follow him out the door.

  5. Agree 100% with Scotty on this one, plus nobody will ever equal Tokely's 'one club' record playing at every senior level in Scotland.

If they don't make him a decent offer I'm sure Mr Adams over the bridge will be watching the situation very closely. All this talk about Peterhead and HL outfits, no way, he wants to be playing at the highest possible level and will continue to do so whether it's with the club he loves or elsewhere.

  6. Tonight's Aberdeen Evening Express has an article highlighting Pa Broon's targets. Could be the usual Sean Wallace tripe but final paragraph is a worry:

And Hayes today confirmed he will leave Inverness Caley Thistle. He said "it is a wrench to leave the club. But it is time to start the next chapter of my career."

If it's true fine, if it's more speculative sh*t stirring then the club should take him to task.

  7. Lower leagues it is then. Lets hope Tel can unearth some Gems.

Ryan Wallace at East Fife looks good. Scored over 20 goals this season and Caley do seem to have a knack for getting the best out of lower league strikers.

Heard Robbo raving about this lad on more than one occassion in commentary late in the season. He seems to think the lad can play at a higher level and is a natural goalscorer, certainly worth a look.

  8. Fer fecks sake - it is the last game of the season. What you do is play one of them, preferably a forward or a wide player from the start, put three others on the bench, judge how the game is going and if you can - blood all three, irrespective of fer how long.

SIMPLES - even Donview sussed it !!

Does that mean you and I could do a better job than Terry and Mo?? they did'nt seem keen on the experiment

  9. He's maybe not as quick as he was but he reads the game better than he did. He was immense yesterday, controlling things at the back, distributing the ball well and when the ball needed hoofing he made sure it was properly hoofed. He's still got a couple of SPL seasons in him - which is one more than Grant Munro

Agree, he was superb yesterday and don't be surprised if they are reunited as team mates next season...........over the bridge.

  10. Almost the horses mouth??........... Would that be the horses erse?? ;-)

You will always have more willing workers and individuals who will listen and are keen to learn. Make no mistake, the coaching team will know who is in each category and who deserves a chance.

  11. In fairness to Butcher he has given some of the youngsters a run out in bounce games and he apparently holds some of these boys in high regard. It would be nice to see some of them this weekend against Hibs in a no pressure situation. It's not as if there is anything at stake or higher place money to be earned.
