  1. Finally, it was encouraging to see that we didn't miss Ian Black (or Dougie Imrie for that matter) at all today. While Blackie is obviously a talented player, IMHO we often seem to play better when he's absent.

He was in the stands today sporting a black eye to. Didn't celebrate at any of the goals, not that I was expecting him to go mental but he didn't move.

  2. how gathuessi play?

From what I posted in another topic

"Cant really give that much of an opinion on Gathuessi as he came on when we had taken our foot of the gas, but he was quick and had a good eye for a pass, played a great ball across goal at one point to after not giving up at the bye line."

But all in all this was a good performance! So happy to be saying that :rotflmao: Morais was, well everyone else has said it so far, superb and looking like he can really lift the team. Number 18 (as I called him throughout) looked comfortable and has composure that we've been looking for I feel. And the rest... well the rest had a very good game to. Special mentions to Vigurs, McBain, Barrowman (I think he is getting there) and Cowie. Next week is where we should really judge the team and hopefully the confidence is now high!

  4. I've heard Essons out injured for this sat, anyone know anything more?

    Source ?

I'm not going to give a direct name and I know this comes into the 'I have a source' point but someone close to the club

  5. In contrast to the position we are in, here is an extract from Hamilton's chairman to their fans:

''A Message to Accies Fans from Chairman Ronnie MacDonald ---

On behalf of my fellow Directors, Manager, Staff and Players I wish you all a Happy New Year.

We have now reached the halfway point of the SPL season and I am sure you will agree that it has been a significant part of the club history. Given all the improvements to the Stadium and the Club infrastructure, toppng the SPL for a brief period and starting this year with the home leg of a league double over Aberdeen.

Everyone at the Club is applying themselves to the task of moving the Accies forward, but it is the support that you have given which I wish to acknowledge. It has been well documented how dispirited the Club had become when I took over as Chairman. Our journey from the Third Division to the SPL coupled with rescuing the club from liquidation and oblivion, establishing an excellent youth system and community programme have been achievements everyone can be proud of, however I think the greatest achievement has been the way you have all supported your young team and the Manager.

Initially the support were sceptical of our aims after the damaging in-fighting that had characterised the club for many years. Supporting your local club is meant to be fun and a passion. I believe the support given to the team on good and bad days surpasses any other group of fans in the country. There can be nothing more discouraging than having your own so-called fans slaughter your club and I hear it every tme we play away from home. For all your encouragement throughout my tenure I sincerely thank you.

As you are aware, we travel to Dingwall for the Homecoming Scottish Cup 4th Round on Saturday and as an appreciation of your ongoing support, the Club will pay the admission costs for each and every 'Accie' who wishes to go. The details on how to obtain your free ticket will be posted on the website, or contact Terry or Scott at the club.

Whenever possible we will introduce initiatives to help you support the team in what will be a difficult economic period for everyone.''

We MUST NOT, I repeat MUST NOT, underestimate the magnitude of the task we face when we play them shortly. If we do, Malky might just have to admit we have a small problem if not crisis.

:rotflmao: My god, so there is such a thing as a club thanking their fans! Why I'd almost forgotten that we have been a part of Caley from the start the way that the club treat us these days!

  6. :rotflmao: Our defensive frailties are being used as showcases for other players. Surely now that might ring some alarm bells in the boardroom of anyone watching

No... It will merely highlight what talented players we keep coming up against...

    Unfortunately I agree :thumb04:

  7. Twice tonight on BBC News, footage of our 2 most recent matches was used to demonstrate how good Porter and Boyd are and consequently how sh*te our defence is. What an embarrassment. Will it never end? I wish dumb and dumber would just gooooooooo awaaaaaaay! :rotflmao:

  8. Why is there any reason to suppose that the views of those of us who post on this site are any different in broad terms from the team's general fan base ?

Thats what I meant, just because our views are out here on this forum for all to see, they are seemingly disposable as just people talking on the internet amongst themselves. They don't see it as we are only a small minority of a larger group who feel the same but have the means to vnt our frustrations, so like Spectre said about why would they listen to us on CTO, well we are the same as every other fan and thats why

  9. There will always be people blinkered like Spectre and Harry Chibber. They don't see the hole in the bottom of their bucket as all the water drips out and keep trying to fill it up over and over. No point arguing with these guys as they don't listen.

  10. I just don't like Bennet full stop, never have and never will. Arrogant and smug, so anything he's says I disregard anyway.

Have you ever met grassa ?

I very much doubt you have as arrogant and smug he certainly is not . Hes done well for himself but hasn't forgot his roots , thoroughly decent chap .

Sorry yes I have and have known him for many a year, but that is my opinion and I appreciate your own to

  11. To be fair to Brew I thought he sounded far from defeated on Setanta and I think most* would have trouble arguing with anything he said. I am gutted to be at the bottom of the SPL (trust me, living in Glasgow I get pelters every minute at work) but I think everyone here knows that if he loses one of the next 2 games he is out so instead of bitching about every comment that comes from the club why not at least give him the chance to prove himself over the next 2 games???

*I'm sure someone will... IHE I have no idea how you got your conclusion from that statement? He quite clearly states that he needs to stand up and be counted, which surely is criticism towards his own performance

Judging by the first half against Rangers the players still have belief in him... 2 games to save his job, I'll give him that

Why Harry, do you keep on insisting giving Brewster 'a chance'? He's run out of chances as from when you last said this, he has guided us to the bottom of the league after 6 straight defeats. And we criticise what he has to say after the game as he says the same thing week in/week out. If we lose to Partick do you really think that he will be sacked?! And if we win against Partick and lose against Hamilton do you really think he'll be sacked?! No, because the board will look at it like 'well at least he won one of the games'. The likely hood of us winning both is very low, and that is how far my confidence goes just now with the fate of Caley. With Brewster at the helm, and the constant 'chances' he is getting, then not much is bright for the future.

Oh and just to add... what will your opinion be if his 'chance' to prove himself ends in two straight defeats? When we're to late to do anything about it due to us giving him a 'chance'?

I'll be surprised but I wont be throwing a hissy fit and demanding his resignantion. I don't believe we will be any better off with someone else, even Sir Ferguson would have struggled with the squad, budget and most importantly the fans we have at the moment. Someone has to come bottom of the league and we need to fight with every other team to try and make sure the second half of the season is a resurgence... there isn't an easy solution

besides what decent manager is going to want to come to ICT when they know if things go ugly we are going be outside of the stadium with banners asking for his job... we have too many Football Manager fans that think the job is easy because they can win the Champions league in their 3rd season (I've done it as well) get a grip!

Woah hold on, now fans expressing their opinions with banners etc. is part of every fans right and it happens all over the world if the fans feel unhappy so why be it any different here? We want something to be done and are expressing it the only way we see fit as you must understand by now that any formal talk about what we want is shot down in the press and directly as well by the 'dictators' of the club. And yes I do agree that is isdifficult for us to attract managers up here, but it isn't impossible!

The Partick game and Hamilton game are must win. The Partick for moral going into the Hamilton game and obviously the Hamilton game for league position. I don't see us winning any of them with Brewster in charge and have always thought that though it would be difficult for any new person to take over in these next two games and do any different, this is where i put your 'chance' method into practice and give someone else a 'chance' to actually change things around!

And I think if Sir Ferguson was in charge by some miracle we would be much better as I know I would want to work harder for someone of that stature rather than the joker Brewster :rotflmao:

  13. If you can't work out who the 3 players are then just look to see who's playing well at County, ambition for Caley lies no further than Dingwall. My friends who support other teams constantly laugh at the fact we try to sign County players, who they admit some can come good and do the job but we usually just settle for that rahter than looking further for better.

  14. At half time during the game, they show a clip of the banner, although the banner was up for around twenty minutes just before kick off. That can be seen on BBC online on the football section. The Grampian/STV news have just shown it as have BBC Scotland news, both during their respective sport round up, and it went national during the live broadcast on Sunday on Setanta.

    BBC online clip

On the BBC clip @ 2:14 secs in.

Probably only available to UK viewers.

Anyone know who that was putting up the sign?

  15. i thought i would be more vocal in my anti-brewster views as i was at the aberdeen game

but the truth is sunday was just quite depressing, i was not in the mood for shouting at all, i think many fans are in the same camp as me, yes or no?

Yup, I was cold and only went along as I go back to Edinburgh soon so spent time with my dad. So it was all good in the first and though there wasn't much cheering I think it was due to people in shock at the performance. But as I said to my dad at half time, 'DO you think they will be ok in the first 5 mins of the second half?'. So I think thats why people were quiet. We all knew it was coming as others have said they thought along the same lines as me, we didn't take our chances and knew due to our record that we would be punished. So a combination of cold, disbelief, and expectancy of what may come made us all very quiet
