It's a fair point, but our armed forces can potentially be away from home for Months at a time being shot at, so I don't begrudge them this day at all. Military personnel have to deal with stuff the rest of us could (fortunately) barely contemplate..

My other half is a nurse, so please don't thing I don't appreciate what they have to deal with either..!

All of which they do through choice. Being away from home for months and being in harms way isn't unique to the military either.

What are we going to have next? Jingoistic tunes and the pre-match blasting of canons followed by 'heroes' abseiling down the North Stand...?

  2. Unless someone finds one that they're willing to part with or one turns up on eBay I think you might've missed the boat on this. We had a few Hibs fans turn up on here looking for programmes but that was just after they won it. I seem to recollect that they managed to get them from the printers but I imagine they've gone now. Considering Hibs won the cup nearly 18 months ago now, you might be out of luck.

  3. I don't think Warren has the skill or mobility to be re-born as a striker.  Funnily enough though, I did think Josh Meekings could've done it - strong, fairly quick, decent passer, quite a hard shot on him, it could've worked but hey ho.

  4. The first half was a bit boring but in the second half we attacked with more pace and power than we have for a long time.  Mulraney had one of the best games he's ever had for us, but I wish he'd stop these dying swan impressions - totally embarrassing.  One thing I would say though, is first of all, why was the change made so late?  Also, it was the wrong change.  Mackay looked good last week but he didn't have the power and presence needed at that time. I'd have kept Mulraney on and swapped Chalmers for Calder.

    Yes.

"Assault is defined in Scots law as a physical attack on another which is intended to cause bodily injury or which puts the victim in a state of fear that he or she may be about to suffer bodily injury."

Did they actually make physical contact though? The pictures are inconclusive.

  6. I've flown Flybe once from Edinburgh to Belfast and thought they were fine.  Perhaps it depends what you're used to though.  I'm a bit of a penny pincher and always go economy, but if you're more used to sitting in first class away from the commoners while you stuff your face with caviar and drinking down champagne perhaps you wouldn't enjoy it so much...

Although the most moronic option of all would be to keep Strachan. Knowing the track record of the SFA, that's exactly what they are likely to do.

I'm just trying to imagine Yogi has Scotland manager.  The big toothy smile across his face at Hampden as he is unveiled and then declaring 'Ah just wanna show the Spainers and Germanians ma fitba fill-os-oh-fee!'

A lot of "think," in there!

He may have been on the radar and as PF points out so are many others. Around that time Warren was out and the priority was a striker so in that respect, there was no positive move towards Vigurs. You can dismiss it in preference to what you think but I'll go with the testimony of the player in question because regardless of any radar, according to Vigurs, thats how it happened for him.

Well some of us do think around here...

We'd offered Vigurs a deal before Warren was injured, but he wanted to wait it out and see what came up.  Maybe a player did see him in a gym but it's not like that's where our initial interest began.  I'll take Vigurs' testimony with a pinch of salt, in the same way I and most who know never bought the 'Latapy left to find a new job' hogwash.

  9. We'd been after him I think just after that season ended and offered him a contract that pre-season along with Partick Thistle and (I think) St Johnstone.  He wanted to keep his options open for a while and then signed the deal with us.  He wanted a return to Ross County first but they turned him down as I recall.
