  1. I see Ian Black claims in an interview with the Scotsman today that 'he could do a job for any team in Britain outside the EPL'.  He's clubless and has had talks with other clubs but felt they were too low for him and wants the team to be commutable from Preston.  Seemingly he's been training with Salford City but doesn't have much intention of signing for them and also feels he's too good to go on trial anywhere else due to his CV...

  2. Turns out New Zealand full back Andrew Blake who turned out for us against Brora and Nairn ended being signed by Hibs after a trial, though without any press release by the looks of things.  He's just joined East Stirlingshire on loan.

We are not playing the sheep; we are playing their reserves. In a competitive match. It's embarrassing and the less we have to do with this competition the better. We should play our youths as well.

Stop embarrassing yourself m8.  You've had an absolute nightmare on here lately.

  4. It's not the first time that D&E have had to bill the travel club for buses (according to some this time though, it was just stickers - pwopa nawty!).  A few months back they sent a bill for nearly £200 for damages for a variety of things, including the actions of some moron who thought it would be a good idea to break the glass case and try to take the emergency hammer...

  5. Thought Polworth had a cracker on Saturday.  Seems to me that he isn't a winger (which we all knew anyway) and he's too lightweight to be in the middle in a 4-4-2.  As part of a midfield trio though, with a man holding, he looked born a-new.

  6. Really?  Fon Williams brought us tens of thousands of pounds from being at the Euros and had had a good season the year before.  Brill had a terrible injury and may never have been the same again.  He's been at two clubs since and both times been unable to get a first team appearance before presumably retiring as a player.  The Brill that we could've kept could well not have been a patch on the one we had before and at the time, retaining Fon Williams over him was an entirely logical thing to do.

If OFW is on a wage of say £2,000 a week and is told that he is free to leave ICT he isn't obligated to accept any old offer from a club that comes in for him. You'd imagine that he'll be after a club that will pay him similar to what he is currently on and might not be so willing to take a huge wage cut. Can't imagine that many teams will be him as great value for money especially after some of the howlers he's had over the last season.

The club was more than happy when it was getting thousands from when Fon Williams was away at the Euros.  Fon Williams has a contract and he's more than within his rights to want it to be honoured.  And why should he look for something new?  He has gotten himself a good deal and made the club plenty of money - he's well within his rights to sit tight, I know I would.

  8. Plus points -

    • A good win and a clean sheet
    • Vigurs is playing well this season.
    • Polworth had a much improved game.
    • Trafford looks a decent signing - fairly energetic and breaks up and distributes play well.
    • Bell looks a good signing.
    • Robbo seems to have found two systems that really work - 3-4-1-2 and yesterday's 4-3-3.

    Negatives -

    • Baird works hard but didn't seem to have enough bite to score goals.
    • Cooper works hard and took his goal well but looks too powderpuff to really challenge teams.  Wonder if he'd be better in central midfield.
    • Elsdon looks dodgy.
