Full squad now there. New signings showing squad number 0, those from last season showing last season's numbers, so one step forward but not really helpful yet.

    25 listed, including 5 'keepers.

The retained players have the same numbers.  Ridgers is wearing 28, Seedorf 17, Calder 16, Baird 9 and Chalmers 4.

  2. Seedorf played very well.  Seemed technically very good especially for a defender.  Calder I'm less sure about - he's decent enough going forward but got skinned a few times down that side in the first half.  Wonder if he'd be better at left wing as I think the only time we'd get away with him at left back would be if we played a back five.

Oakley was reasonable enough, but I think he looks more like a number 10 than an out and out striker.  Baird was making runs that others weren't finding and I wonder if he'd feed off a target man a lot better.

  3. There are regular CaleyAwayers with journalism and other media degrees (which I don't think any of the media team have, certainly not the original ones) and I remember one person on Twitter (I think it was Top Six Next Year) asking why they weren't involved if they were short of numbers.  "It's my ball..." was quite an apt response.

  4. Considering the League Cup starts so early now, I think the days of us playing weeks of friendlies like we used to are gone.  In saying that, I won't at all be surprised if he get a wee scare on Saturday - Brechin might be part timers, but they'll be no mugs.  I know they, like us, have players missing for Saturday and I won't be at all surprised if it's a very close game indeed.

Fair point....why didn't whoever put the info on ictfc.com not just post it on social media? Or tell whoever does the social media posts...

    Bit amateurish...but easily fixed...

The club have used social media has the primary place for news for years now.  In fact, I went on the website the other week and it hadn't seemed to have been updated in ages - as well as the fact that it's a mess to manoeuvre around at the best of times.

Strange it took them the aforementioned 27 hours after Clach had tweeted that the game was off.  They usually can't get stuff on Twitter fast enough, whether it be horrendous Super Bowl 'commentary' or a tidal wave of tweets advertising hospitality.

  6. Jonh-Christophe Ayina - Left Newport County last year and is now at Italian side Virtus Francavilla in Serie C.

Marlon Jackson - Winger and striker who was on trial with the club around the time we signed Ibra Sekajja.  Later had two spells with Oxford, Tranmere and is now at Newport County.

Ayodele Dare - On trial at the same time as Jackson, some may remember him being pictured in a Stoke top around that time, though there was no evidence he played for them - or where he'd been previously.  It looks like his previous club was Dolphins FC in Nigeria, before he signed after his trial with us for Skonto Riga.  No idea where he is now.

Andrew Blake - New Zealand U20 cap who played for us last week at Brora and Nairn seems to have turned out for Hibs at Berwick the other night.  I wonder, had we opted to sign him, if a transfer fee would've been involved as he seems to be still contracted to New Zealand side Eastern Suburbs FC.  They play in Auckland.

4:30pm the club put out on social media that tonight's match was cancelled. Unbelievable, nothing changes.

Caley Thistle tweeted the game was off 27 hours after Clach did. Absolutely shambolic.

  8. Louis Laing has signed for Hartlepool, while Henri Anier has signed for FC Lahtiga in the Finnish top flight.

Also, Dean Ebbe seems to have turned out as a trialist for Drogheda in a friendly against Ipswich Town.

  9. Would it not just be easier to hand over your season ticket book at the turnstile and they take the voucher out? This is instead of everyone trudging over to the club shop where they in turn take the voucher out and give you yet another ticket.

  10. I don't wish to go over old ground yet again, but I wish people would remember what happened after Munro went.  Our defence was a shambles the following season and we were bad enough to be relegated - only saved by a bankrupt Dunfermline and a dire Hibs side.

  11. Positives -

    • Calder looked decent.  Very attacking from full back and showed a lot of drive when dribbling with the ball.
    • Seedorf seems to have something about him.
    • Elsdon looked very commanding at the back before he was hooked at half time.  Strong in the tackle too.

    Negatives -

    • The trialist Daryl Duffy was absolutely useless.
    • Vigurs and Polworth were poor.
    • Our shape was all over the place.
    • Our midfield was non-existent.  Elgin passed through us like there was no-one there.
    • In these friendlies, performance is really more important than the result and ours was absolutely terrible.  Elgin could and probably should have won by more.  Had they won 4-0 it wouldn't have been undeserved and this is an Elgin side missing their main goalscorer.

  12. Hearing on the grapevine, Robbo wants to bring in two or three more players.  Joe Chalmers looks set to be offered a deal and there's a tall Dutch striker coming in.
