Potentially Luis is a good signing. Let's see if Big Harry is offered a contract today.

Disaster. Our only hope to progress in the League Cup this year is that Dumbarton fielded an ineligible player.....

What is the latest with Harry Lodovica?
The club are giving him an extra week on trial owing to him having a strain. He was a spectator on Saturday. I believe I read that in the Courier which had this headline ..for subscribers
Inverness Caledonian Thistle are delaying decision over trialist

Aaron and Lewis Nicolson were the best yesterday. So far the first three games this season have confirmed the young talent we have within the club. Dumbarton on Tuesday will be tough.

Despite his pedigree, I thought big Harry did well last Saturday. Ross Draper bounced off him in their first challenge. Big Harry certainly looked strong in holding up play and potentially could be a good squad member. We will need to work on his fitness for the Championship and give him lots of heading practice if that is a weakness.

Good luck to Tom. Just shows being a professional footballer is not always glamourous.

Not sure about source of Kyle Lafferty rumour. However, he is a very experienced player who could partner Billy and Austin. Last year was not a good year for him after being set up for the social network. After missing a lot of games it was not unresonable that he suffered injuries if truth be known. If he is on the verge of retirement, one final contract could be real focus for him. Having two Northern Ireland internationals up front for some games could be beneficial. Over the bridge, Malky McKay made mistakes early in his mangerial career but the dust has settled after he served his sentence. The Manager of Livingston is an example of turning life around. As is Paul McGowan at Dundee. However, no one has come up with evidence that Lafferty is indeed on our radar. Saturday's game against Elgin may result in some trialists getting a chance. It will be easy to recognise him if he is one of them.

This is good news!! The squad is still a bit short in numbers so it would be nice if there are some more loan signings in the pipeline and, who knows, other signings. Clarity on a few existing players such as Tom, would be useful before the Elgin game. Training starts today so it is likely the Club will reactivate after the period of relative quiet after the Cup Final.

Like who exactly? Billy Mckay is our most prolific goal scorer in recent memory and no one has scored more than he did last season
thansince, erm, Bill Mckay in 2013/14. Jordan White was close in 2017/18 (IIRC) but apart from that we have lacked an out and out goalscorer for the best part of a decade.Paul Ritchie and Edward Ofere came to mind.

It would be quite a disruptive move for Billy unless Ayr offer him a superb package. One thing to bear in mind is that he is approaching 35 so after two years would be approaching 37. We cannot forever rely on him scoring. At present we are short on goalscorers but we do not know what business is being done behind the scenes. Historically we have picked up some good goalscorers late in the day.

It is interesting to note that certain players have been taken off the Club's web page but Billy and Tom are both there.... https://ictfc.com/team/inverness-caledonian-thistle
The league fixtures are out this Friday and we can probably expect more news about new signings or re-signings before then.

I don't follow how that makes any difference?
We are on the way up, and they will pass us on the way down!!

Another motivator is the fact Ross County look as though they are going to qualify for the play offs. I fully back Partick to beat them next week in the lead up to the Cup Final.

Well we've got our first bit of news courtesy of Mr Fly on the Wall twitter who states Steven Boyd will be released after the cup final.
On the assumption that this is correct, it is fair to say that with the catalogue of injuries we had and the chances he had to impress, it was our younger home grown players who were the better performers.

Interesting. Now ask them how many across Europe have reached their final after being knocked out!
And who came close to being beaten in the first cup game against much lower opposition but who eventually gained the right to play the virtually undefeated Premier League winners......who earlier in the season won 9-0 away from home. As they say in Liechtenstein 'tres tricky!'

Just to put ticket sales into perspective, Celtic have in excess of 50,000 season ticket holders. The demand for tickets from their long range non season ticket holders will be enormous.

Good news....Hampden Park confirm that the kick off time is still to be confirmed....https://www.hampdenpark.co.uk/whats-on/scottish-cup-final-2023.html

Quite interesting to note that the highest score in 149 Cup Finals is 6 by Renton and Celtic. In the 150th final, Celtic are on course to set quite a few records after losing just 1 league game this season.

Was it not in the club statement that they would have ticket info the next day?
Using the AGM as a measuring stick, I'd say we'll get details around mid-July!
We can but hope that behind the scenes discussions are taking place about the timing of the final, ticket price reductions and transport issues.

Having downloaded a ChatGPT app yesterday, I asked it for a poem in the style of William McGonagal about ICT winning the cup final. Within 20 seconds or so, this is what it gave me and I’d say it met the spec pretty well. Enjoy!
Oh, listen well, good people all, and hear my tale today
Of Inverness Caledonian Thistle's most triumphant play
For on the third of June, in Hampden Park so grand
They faced the mighty Celtic, the best team in the landThe air was thick with tension as the two teams took the field
And all across the country, fans were watching, hearts congealed
But Inverness Caledonian Thistle had a secret ace
His name was Billy Mckay, and he would soon take his placeThe game began with Celtic on the front foot, full of fire
But Inverness Caledonian Thistle would not tire
They held their ground, they made their mark, they fought with all their might
And then, at last, the moment came, the moment of delightFor Billy Mckay, that hero brave, had found his chance at last
He scored not once, not twice, but thrice, and all the fans amassed
Did cheer and shout and sing his name, as Celtic hung their heads
For Inverness Caledonian Thistle had won, and Celtic's hopes were deadOh, what a day, what a glorious sight, to see the underdog win
To see the joy on faces, to hear the mighty din
For Inverness Caledonian Thistle had done what none thought they could
They'd beaten Celtic fair and square, and proved their mettle goodSo here's to Billy Mckay, that hero of the hour
And here's to Inverness Caledonian Thistle's awesome power
For on that famous day in June, they showed us all their might
And won the Scottish Cup, a victory oh so bright!
Now do the same for Celtic to see if they are going to win 10-0.

Yogi probably kicked a ball around in training for us............

An absolutely nice guy who always seeks to give his best. The statistics do not show how many taxi rides he has given to Danny Devine.....https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/av/football/65427032
Let us not forget that Aaron created our opening goal in the winning cup final.

For the final Peat and Diesel should be approached to do the pre-match music starting with ....
Teuchters all let us rejoice
For we are young and free
We've golden soil and wealth for toil
Our home is girt by sea
Our land abounds in nature's gifts
Of beauty, rich and rare
In history's page let every stage
Advance Teuchters fairIn joyful strains then let us sing
Advance Teuchters fairShould bring a smile to Celtic's Manager.- 2
v Airdrie - League Cup
in Caley Thistle

These were the days 'In 1990 Caley scored a penalty shoot-out victory against Airdrie in a third round replay at Telford Street and in 1991 they held St Johnstone to a home 2-2 draw. They lost the replay 3-0 but the thousands of fans who went south that night to Perth sent out a strong message – Inverness could support a Scottish League team.'
