  1. Looks like Bray now intend to hospitalise any Dundalk player who comes within 20ft of the ball, they just flattened Liam Burns the Captain of Dundalk so bad they had to stop play, but the Ref didn't see it so Bray got away with it I don't like the way this game {and me money} is going...
  2. WTF !!! Phone just rang, and I'm expecting it's Ronan telling me it's half time, well I wasn't wrong there, it is HT but in the 48th minute Jake Kelly drives in his second goal, for Bray FFS !!! Looks like I'll have to sweat this one out
  3. Thank feck for Johnny Breen, he just made it 2-1 for Dundalk in the 41st minute, nice to go in at HT with a goal in hand
  4. Oh FFS !!! Dundalk give a penalty away, Bray send the goalie the wrong way and it's 1-1 the now
  5. Just heard from Ronan, it's 1-0 to Dundalk after 3 minutes
  6. I said I wasn't going to have another bet after the Braintree / Celtic fiasco's, but, never say never hey.. Thirish Lad phoned me up late this afternoon, told me that Dundalk FC were a knocking bet tonight against Bray Wanderers, they'd be a good bet just off the league standings, Dundalk are second in the league, Bray are rock bottom, but it gets worse for Bray as half the team are injured or sick and their coach left for Dundalk with half the team missing, so... I've spent the last 3 hours getting as much as I could on at and around 1/3 with Betfair, BetDaq, Billy Hill, Corals and Totesport. Billy Hill took 4.5 grand @ 1/3 after that they offered 2/7, so I had to shop around to get the rest on. It's all down to Dundalk the now... Canada Bob.
  7. Hello Heilandee... Just had a look at the book on Amazon, have you read it then ? what's the jist of it ??? Bob.
  8. To add to my chagrin I near put 11 grand on Chelsea at 8/11 but decided that somehow or other I must have walked under a black cat today, so I dint bother having a bet, only to sit in the pub watching Chelsea win 3 bowt, just goes to show that when yer luck is out now matter what you do it's the wrong fekkin' thing :( Canada Bob.
  9. Two Pele's hey, news to me, so what was his book all about ? Other than that, I was going to back ICT when they were 6/5 but I didn't want to stiffen them, so I steered away from the bet {to finish up sunk by the Hoops and Braintree FC}. Looks like I'm having one of them days, just back from the local pub, had a curry and a couple of pints to wash it down when a bunch of girls from London {talk about loud} comes in for a few drinks afore heading to the all night bars... Seems they are here for a couple of weeks camping {something women only do/pretend to enjoy/would even consider, when they don't have a bloke to pay for a Hotel room}. One of them {the fattest, 14 stone if an ounce} starts chatting me up, odd how it's always the single/skint/fat/ugly ones hey, but to be honest at 62 you have to consider anything that wears lipstick and still has a pulse. Anyway, I'm doing my best to give her the cold shoulder, as I don't want to know. She then asks where I'm staying, the last thing I want to tell her is I have my own Villa here, in case they fancy a real roof over their heads. She goes on to tell me what a rotten winter they've had, and how glad they are to be here where it's so warm, she goes on to tell me about their camp site, nice tent, showers, swimming pool etc etc, when she {a Susan Boyle look alike if ever there was one}, says.. "It was so warm last night that I had to sleep with my flaps open" !!! Somehow or other the image that came to mind didn't involve a tent, so I supped up and went home... Canada Bob.
  10. Haven't read Pele's book, but was once within 20 ft of him at NY airport, tried to get a photo with him, but couldn't get past the media folks, same thing years ago when I was in Vegas just yards away from Mohammed Ali and Don King, they were at a Sportmans Gala or something, but Ali looked knackered to me, shuffling along like an old old bloke, sad to see him like that, anyway, I digress... As for gambling, the only way to finish up with a small fortune is to start off with a large one, {ask Rooney and a lot of others}, but if you like a bet {and you have a few quid, ie, more money than you might have years left} if you don't go in at the deep end {a few grand} you don't get a buzz from it, that's the problem. Add to that, when you have a few quid no matter what you win it can't change your life, except to take it in the wrong direction, so you have to tread a thin line by not betting more than you can afford to loose, and not betting such a small amount that you can't get excited about the bet. The number of times I've said I should quit, well I can't count them, but it's me only vice, maybe I should invest my time and money in other things, but in the last 6 months I've been doing that, trying to make life a little {if not a lot} easier for a few folks in Africa, so I guess I can let me hair down now and again throwing a few quid at a horse or a soccer match, even though I know it don't make much sense... Canada Bob.
  11. What's got 22 legs and 11 r soles, take yer pick, Celtic or Braintree FC :thumb03: That's ore 10 grand down on the day, how quick the tide can turn hey... I'll have to check me GPS to see where the nearest canal is :clapping04: Canada Bob.
  12. 15 minutes to play and it's still 2 fekkin 2 :( Looks like the wheels and the engine just dropped off my Beamer :006: Canada Bob.
  13. Oh, FFS... it's 2-2 in the 47th minute now :) Did you ever feel like you must have killed a Priest in another life :008: Canada Bob.
  14. Seeing as I'm 62, there's only one answer to that :) Canada Bob.
  15. Oh, FFS, 2-1 now, after a Penalty to St Albans :) no fekkin' way was that a Penalty, I could see from here {watching it on the text} it were clearly a dive :008: Canada Bob.
  16. 2-0 now to Braintree FC, thanks to a Penalty :P Canada Bob.
  17. Well, as I said, it's a result written into the History books now, all I can say is Ross County deserved it, good luck to 'em, can't blame them for me losing 6,550 quid... It's down to Braintree FC to pull me out of the mire today, and so far so good, they are 1 bowt up after 15 minutes... They are a better team than the Hoops anyway :P Canada Bob.
  18. After 15 minutes it Braintree FC 1-0 :P I hope that's a sign of the tide turning... Canada Bob.
  19. What can I say, I could F and blind for an hour or so, but what did Celtic deserve other than what they got, add to that Ross County played a blinder, so I'm no going to curse them. The writing was on the wall in the first 15 minutes, the Hoops played as though it was a practice match while Ross County played as though their lives depended on it. It took a page {now} in the History books to rob me of 6,550 quid, so I'll take my lumps on it and hope that Braintree FC have a better attitude to their game, if they sink I'll be 10 grand down the drain, might be time to get the rosary beads out :025: Just show how quick the tide can turn, I was up ore 30 grand in the last 3 weeks, time to man the Braintree pumps the now. Well done Ross County, you deserved it, as for Celtic, I'd ship the whole team off to Port Vale, how can you turn out for such a major game and not fight for all yer worth for your supporters. I guess that's what living in big houses and driving Merc's ul do for you, what is it they say, "easy come, easy go" I suffer from the same attitude as the Celtic players. Canada Bob.

  21. You have to know the ins and outs of the teams and their run in games, just because they are odds on don't mean they are a good thing, look at Huddersfield tonight, it took them 15 minutes to put any points on the board, I was beginning to think the team was on draw/home or even Castleford/home the way they were playing, was I glad to see them go over the line then get the conversion, but 6-bowt aint a comfortable lead in Rugby at half time. They ran out fairly comfortable winners, but some of the Wigin Mafia must have been sweating as they gave 22 points to get 10/11, if any of those conversions had gone astray {and they were all from touch line or close to it} the Mafia would have got skint tonight... I'm happy enough to have bagged a Monkey... Canada Bob.
  22. Just heard from the Rugby League fanatics in Wigin that Huddersfield should be a nice little earner tonight, they are playing a depleted Castleford {who have suspended 2 of their best players for disciplinary reasons, having a scrap with the coach so I'm told}, so they are down to fielding some of their youth squad against Huddersfiled Giants who have their best side out tonight. I missed the 1/5 that was on offer, by the time I got told Huddersfield were 1/25 so I had to go for the ht/ft bet to get 1/5 to my money. I was after 10k to win 2k but after getting my first bet on here's what Corals offered me... STAKE REQUESTED REVISED STAKE 1) Huddersfield v Castleford - HT/FT Result - Huddersfield/Huddersfield ?3,550.00 ?100.00 Bet ?3,550.00 ?100.00 TOTALS STAKE REQUESTED REVISED STAKE ?3,550.00 ?100.00 REFUSE ACCEPT 100 rotten quid they were prepared to accept, a liability of just 20 quid FFS, I delined their offer... Mind you, I managed to get this on, so it's an interest in the game. 23. The ODDSCHECKER STEAMERS flagged a decent winner today, Goliath's Boy in the 4:35 at Musselburgh, and obscure horse running at a quiet meeting, it was top of the steamers list early one. I had a good look at it and was tempted, but after getting screwed by Fulham I didn't have the nerve to throw a grand at it, it led most if not all the way and went in at 5/2. I don't know anything better to find winners from, horses or football than the steamers list, but you have to learn how to use it, it's not just a matter of backing the top rated one every day, if it's Denman then there's no mystery as to why it's top of the list, but if it's some unknown horse like Goliath's Boy or Braintree FC it's a nod in the right direction. Canada Bob.
  24. effin' Fulham hey, mind you can't blame them for how bad the Krauts played, ffs... If only I'd known they were playing in the Volkswagon Arena, if I'd been trying to win enough money to buy a VW they bleeders would have won, but when they figured out I would be buying a Beamer with they money they went into reverse Dropper near 3 grand and 4 pints watching that game, I hope they don't show it again on MoTD :) Saul down to Braintree now to put the wheels back on... Canada Bob.
  25. Back to the pub later on, so I've had an interest in the Wolfsburg v Fulham game...
