  1. Cheltenham kicks off today, anyone fancy owt ? I think Captain Cee Bee will take a lot of beating but I'll keep my powder dry and just sit back and watch them on the telly with a dram of Drambuie on hand. Canada Bob. PS... Yngwie, did you get my PM and the email ?
  2. Just got back from an afternoon's fishing {caught a nice garfish, let it go though, not good eating}, anyway while I'm sat on a rock when one of the Wigin Mafia calls me up to say it's 0-0 at HT, I was sure he was winding me, so I just went along with it, until 15 minutes later he phones me to say it's 1-0 for Welling :) Thankfully a few minutes later he called again to say 2 bowt, and then 3 bowt, weighed in the now. I don't know where they get the info from, but I recall a match involving Weymouth a couple of years ago and they got that one right too, maybe they know someone down there, anyway, b*gger it, the money is going back on the debit card, I'll spend that on a few drams for me rather than the Bookie. As I said you won't "get rich quick" backing odds on, but it's nice to pick up well ore a grand from a match that should have, could have been 6 bowt, nowt like knowing more than the Bookie does, or at least knowing before they do. I'll be trying me best just to be an observer for Cheltenham, hard enough picking winners anytime but when the best are taking each other on I'll keep me money in my pockets. Might just have a bet on who rides the most winners though, either McCoy or Ruby, then again, might back 'em both against the field if the odds are good enough. It's the safest bet at Cheltenham, you don't lose race by race, but you can be winning race after race, that'll be my bet next week, Ruby to win with a saver on McCoy. Canada Bob.
  3. Well, that 10p has gone Corals aren't even taking on the game anymore, just went to see if I could get a few more quid on and the game has been delisted !!!

  5. Well it's been a busy day for me today, I heard from the Wigin Mafia that a club was going down the drain and fast, facing Administration and all that. Seems they are skint, lost their Manager this week, and 3 or 4 of their players have walked rather than take paycuts etc. The thing is, they weren't the best of teams before all this, in fact they've lost their last 8 games in which they found the net 4 times and picked it up out of the net 25 times B) nowt like consistency is there :005: It's no a game that you'll win a fortune on, unless you back their opponents up to the hilt, best price {was} 4/9 with Corals, I've just took all they'd lay me tonight, managed to take 4/9 to 900 quid twice and then when I went in for another 900 they let me have half of it, and then offered the me 4/9 to 10p FFS, yea, really... I phoned them up and asked if they were still taking on the game, spoke to Lewis {one of the "Traders"} and asked him if they were still taking on the game, he said yes, so I asked him what the maximum bet was, I was staggered {twice} by his response, he said you can have 50 grand on !!! Feck I thought, how much of that do I have the nerve to take, so I asked him if the odds had changed, he said no, 5/1 the home team, 11/4 the draw and 4/9 the away team. I thought sod it, I'll go in the deep end and I asked him for 9 grand on at 4/9 {tuther Bookies are laying 4/11 or worse}. Lewis said you can have 50 on at that price, I though does he mean 50 grand ? but some chance, I asked him how come you just said I could have 50 grand on the game ! He said you can have 50 grand on the home team at 5/1 or 50 grand on the draw at 11/4 but 50 fecking quid on the away team FFS !!! I guess they'd noticed me keep banging on 900 quids at a time and decided to have a closer look at the game, to find that the whole bleedin' club is in disarray, so that was the end of backing Welling {yea, I know, who the feck are Welling, I've never heard of them}. Turns out welling aren't a bad team, top arf of the Blue Square Southern League, with a couple of games in hand of those above them, which if they win takes them into 3rd spot or so, so the incentive is there. As for Weymouth {thome team} they are the basement team for that league, well they were when they were at full strength, who knows what they'll be like tomorrow with the bloke off the turnstiles in goal, and the groundsman at centre forward, i shouldn't jome should I, the Universe has an bad habit of kicking you in the b*llocks, but I'll take me chance with Welling FC. I managed to get 1,200 quid on with BF too, at an even better price 1.50 so all in all I've about 2,500 quid on Welling, I hope they are 3 bowt up at HT :005: It's game on now, thardest part will be trying to find out how the games going, do they show the Blue Square Southern on the vidi printer ? or Sky Sports Score thing ? shouldn't be a sweat, sould be a cake walk, but when you've a few quid on it gets the nerves janglin' a bit, that's wor it's all about though hey, gerring a bit of a rush, an' gerrin' one ore ont Bookies :003: Canada Bob. 46012286 12/03/2010 23:42 PI Debit Cards deposit 900.00 - 900.00 56818914 12/03/2010 23:44 BET INTERNET - 900.00 0.00 46012398 12/03/2010 23:47 PI Debit Cards deposit 900.00 - 900.00 56818982 12/03/2010 23:50 BET INTERNET - 900.00 0.00 46012529 12/03/2010 23:54 PI Debit Cards deposit 900.00 - 900.00 56819056 12/03/2010 23:56 BET INTERNET - 447.19 452.81
  6. Thanks Yngwie, it was a nice break for me, lifting me nose off the grindstone for a while, mind you you don't mind being on the grindstone when every spark brings you a quid, do you. Now that I'm on the run in with the shaving cream and the mosquito repellent I'm already into a new venture, sorting out a way for folks in Third World Countries to have access to sanitized water. I've been working with plastic buckets {and the like} lined with colloidal silver and nano particle titanium dioxide. The TiO2 is a photo catalyst, in that when light shines on it it releases ROS {radical oxygen species}, when they peculate through water in the bucket they kill bacteria, virii and even parasites like cryptosporidium {a killer, related to plasmodium, the malaria parasite}, and this little beggar aint just in the Third World either, you'll find them in public swimming pools, chlorine don't kill 'em either. Interesting things these nano particles, hard to get to grips with how small these little "ball bearings" are, you'd need 40,000 of them to span the width of a human hair, how small is that !!! Anyway, so far if you put 10 liters of well or stream water into me bucket and leave it in the sunshine for 24 hours the water becomes free of ANY pathogens, might still look an odd colour if you don't filter "debris" out of it, but there's nowt that would do you any harm in it... The silver works in much the same way, except that silver don't need light, it just poisons bacteria and other stuff on contact, that's part of the reason that folks used to drink out of silver goblets to cut down on the bacteria. Nowt new in this "invention" the beneficial effects of these two elements are well known, but the way I deploy them is novel, so there could be a Patent in it, mind you at 62 there'd be more life in the Patent than in me, so I might not bother taking a Patent out on it. The beauty of me buckets is, the coating is there for almost ever, you'd have a better chance of losing the bucket than losing the coating. I've already got UNESCO interested in it, if all goes well in further tests {against e-coli et-al}, if I make them UNESCO will buy them... Keeps the mind active though don't it, it's no all about Haydock Park or the Champions League is it... Canada Bob.
  7. Ready when you are then... Canada Bob.
  8. Hey, many a true word, there's only one of me mates that I didn't tell about the horse or the Cows, and the worst thing is of them all he's the one who needs money more than the rest of us, but owt you give him goes down the drain, it's better to leave him out and buy him some ale or shove him a few quid after the event, some folks are just no meant to win, and if you try to drag them out of the mire you finish up up to yer neck in it too :( Just had a look at the race result, now I see how come Thirish Lad got the word on it, it was owned by JP McManus, and Thirish Lad aint a ditch digger his family are well off, they own a Hotel and a Golf Course in Galway, birds of a feather tweet together hey... As for Cowdenbeath, I got a phone call from a bloke I know who's a "Trader" for Bald Fred's, {don't know where they get these fancy names from, Bookies never had "Traders", I suppose it just makes it sound "clever"}, anyway, I digress... He phoned me to tell me that Bald Fred had just turned down a bet from a client wanting 30 grand on at 5/6 on Cowdenbeath, even though Hills had them at evens on their coupon, {but try getting more than a couple of grand on and you'll be told "the price has gone" that's why I had to take 4/6}, anyway. The Trader told me they couldn't shift the bet {and make owt on it} with Betfair ot BetDaq as there wasn't enough money in the pool, so after phoning around they declined the bet but offered him 4/6 to 3 grand, and he took it, that's what raised a few eye brows at Bald Fred's from what I'm told they got rid of that and "took an interest" in the game, whatever that means. Looks like something was afoot hey, the odd thing is I can go months and not get owt from eiher of them, then {like buses} two come within minutes of each other !!! glad they did though, just wish I'd had a grand on the horse though, but like I said, they aren't machines and they can let you down, it aint like soccer, you don't get horses deciding they don't want to win today :( No bet for me for a few weeks the now, and I'm sticking to that this time, I blew me winnings a couple of weeks back so I'm hanging on to the cash this time, {unless Thirish Lad has owt to say that is} :015: Canada Bob.
  9. What a day, I won a grand on Cowdenbeath and I had 400 quid on Wheels Up @ 5/2 :) Thirish Lad were right, it won in a canter, finished up 15/8 but I was on early and got the better odds :005: Up 2 grand on the day, so that's me done for a while, Billy Hill aint gerrin' that back :011: I hope one or two of you were on it ? Canada Bob.
  10. 4-1 the now, a goal a minute almost {since they fell asleep}, the money is as good as in the Bank !!! just a matter of how many go in now... Hey up !!! 2 more goals while I've been typing this up, it's 5-2 now... Must be a hell of a game... Canada Bob.
  11. YEA !!! never doubted 'em, 3-1 the now !!! no sweat, nae fear, weighed in the now !!!
  12. Nae Problem, the lads must have been lookin' at the lassies in the stands when East F*** scored, but we're back in command again, took them just 2 minutes to go ahead again :D Canada Bob.
  13. East Fife hey, the B*stards, just leveled it up 6 minutes into the second half, hope I've no jinxed meself :D What a bunch of dozy bleeders the Cows must be, a goal start and they fall asleep, 3 bleedin' monkeys on 'em too :D they should have had the game wrapped up ! Canada Bob.
  14. YES !!! 1-0 for Cowdenbeath after 30 minutes, I know "it's not over yet" but the first half is, and I'll take a goal and me money into the second half Canada Bob.
  15. Just had a phone call from Thirish Lad, he tells me that... "Wheels Up, is confidently expected to win the 4:55 @ Newbury by a comfortable distance at a reasonable price" He's not often wrong and he don't give me many per year, so I'll be having a bit more than a casual interest in this one, but backing horses is a hard game, they don't always do as expected, after all they're not "machines" they're only human after all, so things can go wrong, but all things being equal this one will put our hands into the bookies satchel... Other than the above, I'm up to me b*llocks on Cowdenbeath this afternoon, 3 monkeys to win 2, had to take 4/6 but if you can get on at Hills coupon odds they are Evens that's a knocking bet, they should hiss it... Canada Bob.
  16. Thanks for the kind comments above, appreciated, it was a weird experience, all I have to do now is cash me chips in, might take 3-4 months to get the ink dried {in the US} but I'm on the run in not with all the hurdles cleared. Hell of a story about the diamond bloke, Canadians aren't usually as bold as he seems to have been, but once you get a few quid under yer belt it does make you a bit more adventurous, wish I'd seen the story, was it on Horizon or something like that ? I used "The Torrent Box" to grab UK TV programs, it's a neat little site, they have links to almost every program that's been broadcast in the UK going back 10 years or more, including soccer matches and horse racing... As for Burnley, only just got ore that disaster, what p*llocks they turned out to be, not to mention Pompey, why they bothered amazes me they are done for anyway no matter what, must have been some perverse pleasure for them to burn the punters money, anyway, I might get some back today, "I've got a horse" that's supposed to win with a comfortable distance, at a reasonable price, just managed to get on it at 5/2, I'll post the details in the forum. All the Best, Canada Bob.
  17. Thanks for the above, appreciated, if I were younger I#d be tempted to invest in a club, but right now the only investment I?ll be making be making is in Burnley to beat Pompey tomorrow... Stugglin? with this blasted German kezboard at the moment the z and the y are reversed and I can"t figure out some of the other kezs either FFS but I managed to get a good few quid on Burnlez via Betfair. As for the weighed in, well Im on me waz back to Lanyarote right now for about 8 weeks there, after that its back to Canada then dazs later to Florida to cash me chips in with a companz over there who want the Patents. Tell zou what, zou wunt want to be drunk using these damned kezboards, whz the heel are thez now all the bleedin same FFS. Canada Bob.
  18. Now I know how it must feel running out for the Cup Final after you've won match after match to get there sometimes against the odds, that's how Wednesday felt for me. I was up and running at 6:30 down for breakfast and then off to the German Division of the EPO {European Patent Office}, HERE IN mUNICH. Now when I say Division {a word that Germans seem to have a liking for}, think Panzer Division, well, I might as well have been facing a Panzer Division. After a 6.5 hour "interview" {they prefer to call it that now rather than interrogation} but given the choice between being interviewed by the Spanish Inquisition the SS or these guys at the EPO I'd be hard pressed {first Freudian slip there} to chose which one to pick, at least the SS gave you coffee and cigarettes, the only thing on offer at the EPO was a "ein glas vasser" . Seeing as how there were 3 on the "Tribunal" {as there generally is :P }, I thought it best not to be outgunned so I went in with my Lead Patent Attorney and his Partner, {these guy cost 1,000 Euro each ! per day} anyway I thought it best to go "in convoy strength" you don't want to be facing Germans when yer a man down. The kick off was at 09:00 we were all say on opposite side of a huge table, say 16ft long and 8ft wide {bit missing in the middle, sort of King Arthur style} each seat with its own microphone and so on {everything said was recorded}, it was just like being at a Senate Inquiry, reminded me of when I was involved in that Fleet thing in Washington >20 years ago. Anyway it started with some vigour to say the least, my lead guy fired the first volley challenging the validity of some of the comments that the Patent Examiner had made and it went down hill right after that, tempers flared :008: voices were raised and fingers wagged :018: it was more like being in a Glasgow Pub :D than what I'd have expected at the EPO. This went on for 2 hours !!! and I'd not even spoken yet :( I was keeping my head down and my powder dry, last thing this situation needed was me to inflame it further, I was sure we wouldn't see the day out as the struggle for dominance went on. It came to the point were we had to adjourn so that "calmer minds might prevail", but as we were leaving the room I asked if I could speak to the "other side" informally, they considered this {can you believe what Germans are like} and then said yes... I told them that I was bemused by the goings on, I didn't know if this was "standard procedure" or if things were simply getting out of hand, {a first for me, looking to pour oil on troubled waters} but I had too much at stake here to let it descend into a brawl. I told them that by going at each other the way they were doing no harm could come to my Patent Lawyer {he'd still be a Patent Lawyer the next day} nor could any harm come to them as they had "jobs for life" at the EPO. I went on to tell them that in this war that was evolving between the two sides that the only blood that would be shed would be mine :017: that comment seemed to change their countenance. Anyway, once we reconvened calmer minds did start to prevail and the process of '"Examination of the Patent" finally started to get underway, for another 2 hours, then a break for lunch, don't ask {sauerkraut and sausage mit rogen brot, minus the LowenBrau} mind you, this lot didn't need any ale to fire them up :P Then into the afternoon, dust settling by now, further progress on the review of the novelty / inventiveness of the shaving cream et-al, and on it went... All of a sudden after near 6.5 hours or so, the Chairman stops the debate to say... They have decided to grant ALL the European Patents, 27 of them !!! Right out of the blue that came, they went on the formally advise us that withing days we will get a letter to confirm their decision, I'll bleedin' frame it when I get it !!! Went back to the Hotel feeling totally drained mentally and emotionally, as I expect everyone else feels after that contest, remind me not to Invent anything else, once in a lifetime is enough at this game with the EPO, but, I guess the bottom line is, they don't throw Patents around like confetti, they know Patents can be worth a fortune, so they put you through hoops before they grant them these days. Right now I know how Superman feels when someone slips Kryptonite into his ale, I'll down meself a few steins of LowenBrau tonight to celebrate :D I had 10 years of work and the best part of $700,000 in Patent costs to date on this "roll of the dice", that's some bet when it near came down to a bar room brawl !!! But, it's weighed in now, so I'm on me way to cash in on the investment, I just wish I was 42 not 62 to give me time to enjoy the money. Canada Bob.
  19. See if your brain is as old as your body ~ or ~ (perish the thought) ~ OLDER !! Read the following instructions since the game is in Japanese: Procedure of Flash Fabrica Game: Here's how the test works... 1. Hit 'start' 2. Wait for 3, 2, 1. 3. Memorize the number's position on the screen, then click the circles in order from the SMALLEST number to the BIGGEST number. 4. At the end of game, the computer will tell you the age of your brain. Is yer Brain Knackered ? The higher the score the worse you did. I ran it 3 times, got 38 40 38 so at 62 I'm happy with that.
  20. Yea, Fulham did me a good turn, won 800 quid off that bet, and was tempted to back Arsenal last night, but why give the bookie a chance to get his money back, so I'll no be having a bet for a while, better me spending it than Billy Hill.
  21. In the hope that I'm on a bit of a run, I've just backed Fulham @ 8/11 to 1100 quid... I know that Fulham struggle to score {don't we all}, but Burnley haven't won away all season, and they've only managed to draw once !!! Add to that they've only scored 8 goals whilst letting in 35 !!! FFS !!! The worst away defence in the Premier League !!! C'mon Fulham, give us a goal, or three {by half time will do}... Canada Bob.
  22. A decent day today, the 'orse won by 3 length, and the Bolton Wunderers did the honours too, sinking further into relegation, picked up a good few quid today, just wish I had a bit more on the 'orse, I finished up with 50 quid EW on it, but that'll pay for the rest of this month... I hope some of you were on it too ? Canada Bob.
  23. Just got a phone call from a lad I know in Ireland, he says have a bet on "City of Doral" in the 3;45 race at Nass, just had a look, it's a 7/1 chance in a Handicap Hurdle, so a few quid EW will be my bet on the horses today, other than that, I'm Laying Bolton {heavy}, it'll cost me ore 2 grand if they win, but I'll chance it...
  24. It's not true, John Terry hasn't lost his England captains arm band, they just found it under Wayne Bridges bed !!!
  25. I hear that Scotland has had the coldest winter since records began ? has it been that bad ? From what me mates in Wigin say it's been bad round there too, and that it's been so cold in Liverpool that the scousers have had to put their hands in their own pockets !
