I am. Looking forward to it

Have a great time. I understand that there will be a sheet on each seat with the words to the Ukrainian national anthem.

I hope that our team and our fans belt it out with the same gusto as Flower of Scotland but then, when the whistle blows, put all sentiment and sympathy aside until the match is over.

  2. An annual loss in the region of quarter of a million is not unexpected trying to maintain a competitive full time team in the Championship.

Next year's figures will be boosted by our share of the add on paid to Celtic in relation to Ryan Christie for Bournemouth's promotion and the income from reaching the play off final.

An ongoing cause for concern but no cause for alarm.

I say.....For the record, you have been closing all your own topics yourself apart from one that was dealt with as there was already a topic dealing with it. Why close your topics which are sometimes relevant once you can see through the smoke screens. That defeats the purpose of having topics to debate and takes away from the purpose of the site.

If we closed all topics that were past their sell by dates then there would be nothing left to read. :rules02:

This poster has made a number of interesting observations well worth discussing.

However, I am pretty sure that they would be met with a much more positive response if they were not phrased in a manner that wasn't remotely amusing in the first place and has now become utterly tedious.

It's a pity because, as I say, the contents of the posts are often interesting and worthy of debate.

Yep OCG there is indeed - I just hanker back to the golden years of the 60s when a few loo rolls bought from the corner shop on the way to the ground were more than sufficient to show your delight when the goals went in. Only problem was you're team had to play in white if you wanted yer loo roll to be the same as the team colours!

Although you had to make sure that they were the luxury paper ones rather than the slippery shiny and completely non absorbent ones beloved of school janitors and the custodians of many other public buildings in the 60s and 70s.

They were just about as useless for throwing as they were for their primary function.

  5. Great to see these youngsters support their local team with such passion and enthusiasm.

Pleased to see the club engaging positively with them.

I realise that money is tight but surely one positive step would be to improve their facilities with the West Stand getting a bit of a tidy up and preferably a roof which would both keep them dry and and channel more of the atmosphere they create onto the pitch rather than disappearing into the sky.

I know that I have been critical of the actions of one or two individuals but the vast majority of our young crew have been a great credit both to the club and themselves.

It would be good also if efforts could be made to make more girls and young women feel more welcome to join the crew.

These are are our future long after us sweetie rustlers have departed the scene.

  6. Pity about the live streaming.

A number of Covid measures originally intended to be temporary have proved such a success that they have become permanent.

With a bit more flexibility and imagination on the part of the football authorities, this could have been another.

And in 2004 we won the League and the Challenge Cup and took the Pars to a replay in the Semi of the Scottish.

Due to family commitments, I couldn't make the semi final but did make the replay at Pittodrie and, when Paul Ritchie gave us an early lead, was, for about 20 minutes, convinced that we were on our way to our first ever major final.

Bit of a trudge back to the car that evening.

I would add a reliable goalscorer - a proper striker.  So basically we need people everywhere except in goal

The trouble is everyone at our level is looking for a reliable goalscorer but those who have proved themselves such tend to be in demand at a higher level and command a salary outwith the reach of Championship clubs.

We will need all of our energy next season for the league.

But also every penny. Getting out of the group stage and maybe landing a tie later on against either of the Old Firm or Aberdeen would be a boost in that regard.

As with most things, there is a balance to be struck.

I don’t fancy our chances in this group, particularly as we tend to use it to get players fit for the league campaign.

Cove and Kelty both won their leagues, so will fancy their chances against us, whilst Livingston will start as clear favourites.

We will need three 90 minute wins and, probably, a draw to qualify which I think is a tall order.

I hope I am wrong but we will see in a few weeks.

I will be more upset than ever if we end up yet again being beaten in the group stage by a Hearts team.

With Andrew and Harry wanting to get in on the act "The boys are back in town" might be appropriate?

In the case of the former at least, Slade's Lock Up Yout Daughters would be more appropriate.

The song of the Jubilee: Sweet Caroline!

Somehow it became the English football anthem last year so that presumably influenced the public vote.

But why was it the music chosen when the full time whistle went at McDiarmid Park on Monday?

It has been a sort of unofficial anthem of English cricket for years.

Strange, given that the Queen seems to have lost weight recently, I assumed that the official song of the Jubilee would be something by Thin Lizzie.

  13. As a lifelong, or at least from when the Queen refused to sogn my autograph book 50 years ago on a visit to Fort George Republican, I will be doing my utmost to ignore this event.

However, I am curious to know whether any others intend to mark the occasion either by purchasing memorabilia or attending events ?

  14. Glad to see Shane being supported and offered a new contract.

Personally and with great regret, I would not be offering Aaron a new contract. We have a very limited budget which, these days, would probably be better spent on recruiting someone younger, fitter and less injury prone.

Six playoff games played in May with 2 won against Partick, 2 draws against Arbroath with a win with penalties and a home draw against St Johnstone and an away loss to loose the playoff final.  A lot of votes this month which is great.

The winner for May is Austin Samuels :clapping:

Thank you for all your votes this year and the result for our Player of the Year will be announced soon.

A well deserved winner and if he continues to improve as he has been a definite candidate for player of the year next season.

I was happy with his contribution while on loan especially sinking Raith Rovers 🤣🤣

I wish him all the best for the future

Yes. Those few minutes at Srarks Park were the start of turning our season round and getting us oh so close.

Very good luck to him for the future.

Jeez peeps, I'm trying to remain upbeat and confident ahead of next season but your ruining that with negativity 😛.

No. Just injecting an element of reality.
