The new manager thread
Can we now look forward to Colin Nish signing in January?

It's only a matter of time before someone posts the video of a naked Hughes running behind an unsuspecting female TV reporter at a Falkik training session.

The new manager thread
Or bonfire night when your expecting one last massive boom as you know its coming to the end and then.... is that it? Or when you strike up an online relationship with the girl of your dreams, for weeks you spend every waking moment looking forward to the time when you can actually meet up and fulfil your relationship, then when the time comes it actually turns out to be a fat middle aged man called Nigel with a combover and poor personal hygiene, but you kind of feel obliged to go along with it and make the best of the situation. No wait.....

If County appointed Hughes I'd have a wee chuckle and think that the only place they are heading is down the way.

The new manager thread
4 weeks since Butcher agreed to join Hibs, an attractive vacancy at a team 2nd in the league and still in all cups, 100 applications from all over the world, a serious of impressive interviews and presentations from high calibre candidates, And now it's John Hughes. Really?

Aren't we all. Perhaps the Sun journalists work later into the evening and were more up to date?

The new manager thread
Could you ever imagine players like Meekings, Draper, Mackay etc signing for us and saying "There was interest from clubs down south but I came to ICT because I was really excited about the prospect of working with John Hughes....."

But if the contract offer stipulates he has to live up north full time and he wasn't planning on doing that....

Scottish Cup 5th round draw:Stranraer
The draw has created a frenzy of excitement on the Stranraer forum. Post 1 : "Possibly just about the worst draw we could have had" Post 2 : "Terrible draw." And that's all they have to say so far.

November manager of the month dilemma
Which is the only team with a 100% record for the month? ICT, of course. Played 4, won 4. No other team achieved that. Even if you only consider league games, no other team achieved 100% either. So under normal circumstances we would be the obvious recipient of the award - but as we had 3 different people in the dugout for those games, I guess the award won't be actually be heading north! The organisers could, god forbid, award it to Butcher, on the grounds that ICT won 2 games while he was still claiming a salary from us, and he was then unbeaten with Hibs. To avoid controversy, though, I suspect they'll just give it to McNamara at Utd.

Scottish Cup 5th round draw:Stranraer
Looks fairly likely to be Stranraer given that they are at home in the replay and a league above Clyde. Our record at Stanraer is: played 3, lost 2 (both 97/98 league games) drawn 1 (96/97 Sc. cup - we won the replay on penalties) The last time we played them at all was in the Challenge Cup under Butcher and we needed extra time.

Scottish Cup 5th round draw:Stranraer
Best route is fly Inverness to Belfast, night out there, ferry over in the morning hoping the sea ain't rough. Allows you to pretend it's a European tie!

Scottish Cup 5th round draw:Stranraer
I can confirm that I am happy. Happier still if it is Clyde.

Scottish Cup 5th round draw:Stranraer
Takes place Monday at 2pm. If we can avoid Celtic, Dundee Utd and Aberdeen, I'll be happy.

Yes, played 3, won 3, 3 clean sheets. The downside is that any new manager is destined to take us backwards.

It could be worse. Todays BBC Gossip section reports this from The Sun: "Alloa Athletic manager Paul Hartley is facing competition to be Inverness Caledonian Thistle's new team boss from Michael Appleton, who was sacked by Blackburn Rovers in March, John Hughes, axed by Hartlepool United in the summer, and former Caley Thistle boss Craig Brewster. "
