  1. What would the score be if Hearts or Motherwell or ourselves for that matter were to play a team like that? At least we can stop kidding ourselves that Scottish league football can hold its head up in Europe again. Celtic have not just embarrassed themselves. Didn't watch this pointless game. Did the fans at least behave themselves? Did any of them stay to the end?

  2. I don't really understand how anyone can watch a game without having a preferred team. For English games I have a kind of Scottish factor points system amongst other reasons for supporting one team over another. Favouring teams in other SPL games usually hinges on benefit to ICT but I must admit the recent County Hibs game was a challenge-wasn't sure who I liked best.

On the matter of changing teams I would hope that anyone relocating to the Highlands would want to bring their kids along to TCS rather than encourage them to support old firm etc. If you're raising your kids to support the local team its hard not to do so yourself. I guess the same applies elsewhere.

  3. The only way to stop this nonsense is to penalise the clubs where it hurts- by docking points. An 8 point 'fine' for Celtic for the disgraceful behaviour at Fir Park would get the message across to the perpetrators or at least encourage their fellow supporters to put pressure on the ned element.

  4. It reached a new low on Saturday. Richard Gordon is bearable but they should take the secateurs to the rest of them starting with Willie Miller and Chick Young. When that's been thinned out they should get into Sportscene and get variety of guests who can talk some sense about Scottish football and never make us suffer Pat Nevin's nasal nonsense again.

  5. Look at the poll for an answer to that surely. He said all the right things more or less and his cunning plan of leaving well alone is the right start. Ritchie handled his interview really well and gave me personally the first glimpse of optimism since this whole sorry business began. To be fair he was right to bring up the fact that Hughes has a couple of achievements on his CV which we still aspire to. I think I'll be able to swallow my disappointment and get on with the business of urging the team on to fulfil their best ever season.

  6. I also saw clearly what he did to Graham Shinnie and I couldn't understand why the appeal on that was successful considering the soft reds that we were unable to overturn last season. He should have had a lengthy ban for this one as well though and I quite agree with the referees. Absolutely disgraceful (good entertainment at the time though!)

  7. Of course he'll get a chance. It's the club I support not a here today gone tomorrow manager but for the sake of the team I'll be behind him once the sicky feeling in my stomach goes. A good run over the next few weeks will help.

  8. Well everyone knows the wife left you for a scaffy but time heals and you're getting over it and well what a night eh? with all them gorgeous exotic beauties to choose from and then BANG! you wake up with a splitting headache and some old scrubber from down the pub.

    Disappointed

  9. Well everyone knows you wife ran off with the scaffy but time heals and you're getting over it- even getting quite excited about all the gorgeous exotic beauties you're going to be going out with. BANG you wake up with some old dog and you're stuck with her.

Surely we can do better than this. I would have thought that our current standing would have merited a better shortlist but I was coming round to the idea of Hartley being a decent gamble. This is just depressing.

  10. If you aren't watching, watch it, disgrace to Scottish football no matter how young a team, but hilarious as well

Sorry to bring it up but it's only 3 years since we went down to an almost equally embarrassing defeat in the league cup.Let's not be too smug. Hopefully won't be Hearts' worst cup defeat this season though!

  11. I got the impression earlier on that Levein thought that this job would be a step down for him. Is that and his tendency towards anti-football really what we want? Not too excited about any of the supposed interviewees but Hartley is obviously doing something right as a coach and probably most people's preferred choice.

  12. The shifts the team have put in in the two post Butcher games suggest that they are dedicated to achieving something special at Inverness. I don't think they will be queueing to jump ship in January even if Hibs had the money which seems unlikely given what they've laid out on the various compensation deals recently. Billy can set his sights a wee bit higher than that. I think it is more likely that they will trawl the English divisions to bolster their ropey defence.
