  1. I'm sorry but this talk about being exactly half red and half blue is utter *****. Also striped, at least when Errea do em look like some low league team from the 80s.

I much prefer simple designs, something strong. We are stuck with blue, just look at the stadium. The less clutter on the shirt the better. All we need is who we are, our sponsor and a player wearing it.

    Minimalism is best.

  2. Give the man a chance. We don't exactly have money just to throw at a new manager, on top of paying out John Hughes. Have faith. If we start dropping our heads, as will the players, and that will just make it harder for Hughes.

  3. Partick Thistle should be a win.

Dundee UTD will be a challenge, not as optimistic about that one, but I hope we have learnt our lesson.

    Can beat St Mirren.
Motherwell is a 50/50, just depends what team shows up.

We've shown that we can easily outclass Ross County, just have to get our heads up a bit.

Honestly, I believe our issue right now isn't entirely Hughes' fault. Look at the end of last season, sure it wasn't as bad as it is right now, but it wasn't great. We just don't have a big enough squad to play all these games in hand, a league cup final run, a Scottish cup quarter final AND storm on for Europe. We need to be wise this transfer window and bring in some back ups. Billy needs some competition and a break, as does most of the team to be honest.

  4. I am happy for Danny Devine to retain his place in the squad but I think leaving out Garry Warren was a mistake. In the team suggestion thread I suggested:

    Meekings Warren Devine Shinnie

It would have been a similar set up as the Hibs game last Wednesday.

Dropping Dean Brill would be a bigger mistake IMO.

Aye dropping Brill would do nothing but damage his confidence. Need to shuffle the defence and midfield to supply Billy a bit more.

  5. Absolutely fantastic news! Team is now set. Well done to the board for getting this sorted.

Will be a refreshingly quiet summer I think. Striker and maybe a winger of sorts over the summer and I think we should be fine.

Also if we are to let players go, we could actually get money for them? WHAT IS THIS?!

  6. A bench start I think for him. We'd need a player like Christie to come on in the final minutes of the game and run his little legs off and cause havoc when the Aberdeen defence is getting tired. I don't believe that he'll have the stamina and maturity yet to play a full 90+ game.

  7. We don't get half the total receipts though. The League take a cut, Celtic will get ground fee and there will be other costs including police and stewarding. Think circa 400k will be close to the mark.

I'd still think it's a bit closer to £500,000 when you add in winning rewards. :)

  8. You are also forgetting there are other things to take into account.

BBC are paying for broadcasting rights. That's close to £110,000 to each club after the SFA take their money. Runner up of the cup get about £87,000 (5 year old source, so it may be more or less now) and winner gets just over £100,000. This means we are guaranteed nearing £600,000, we are playing for an additional £13,000. With that said, it's like we've already won.

  9. The Hibs game midweek may be the most important game of the season. Even more important than the final. Today the team was destroyed. I understand why John Hughes decided to play the team he picked today, because you can't judge a new tactic on a thrashing by Celtic, that could of happened anyway. Now this defeat to Dundee United proves it's not the tactic for us. I hope he realises this and tries something new on Wednesday.
