Zach Elbouzedi (2017/18) scored the winner last night for St Patrick’s in Azerbaijan in a Conference qualifier. Noticed that Jake Mulraney was also in the team.

Wow, you must have done some trawling to find that!

  2. We have the start of a new era off the pitch, but a long tough road ahead, and I’m hoping for the start of a new era on the pitch, where we play to our strengths and play attractive attacking football.

It would be very apt if Billy regains his scoring touch by being played as a proper striker in his 300th game.

I’m hoping there will be a large enthusiastic crowd who inspire the players to our first league win of the season.

  3. It’s great to see the positive reaction to the news confirmed today.

Credit to Alan Savage for stepping in but also to all who attended the alleged meeting on Thursday that CB advised us of: collectively they look to have got this result.

But this is only the start and there’s still a big challenge ahead before the club is financially stable, and an even bigger one to restore our reputation, both locally and in the wider football world.

Ketan was a fantasist and would have strung us along and probably been the final nail in the coffin. I’m not going to dignify Gardiner by saying anything: others have done that very eloquently.

I also think we need to give Ferguson a bit of a chance. I’m not a fan of his tactics and formation, but we can’t afford to part with him. He’s been dealt cards that are very different to the promises he’d have been given by Gardiner and Morrison (don’t forget his part in our demise) but we need to get behind the team fully.

Saturday will hopefully see a large, positive crowd who will help the players get our first league win.

  4. Buying season tickets at the club shop or over the phone will improve the club’s cash flow faster than using the on line facility as that goes through someone like Ticketmaster so payments will be delayed getting to the club.

It’s not a revelation that we haven’t been paying creditors, it’s a matter of public record, and it has been stated that we have accumulated around £300,000 of overdue liabilities and that we’ll be going bust very soon without a substantial cash injection. So I’m surprised people are surprised!

If the sanctions here are the same as in England, we could face a points deduction. This is what the BBC said about Sheffield United after their opening day win:

“An opening-day win moves them into positive points after they started the season on minus two because of defaulting on payments to other clubs during the 2022-23 season.”

I know it’s stupid saying this while dunc is in charge but even a change in formation could do a world of good. Longstaff looks so uncomfortable receiving in middle of the park

I’ve been saying for a while now that we need to go 4 4 2 with proper wide players, one of whom would logically be Longstaff.

Gilmour tends to sit in front of the defence, so our current back 3 / back 5 is almost a 6, so we never have a decent outlet.

Ferguson is wedded to his formation but we can all see it is wrong and not getting the best of the players.

Change to rule - 2024/25 season

Just a note to regular NPL punters, I've made a change to the Crowd Section. The BBC don't seem to record the crowd finger on a regular basis anymore so I'll be using the Official SPFL site instead.

In case it helps, I see the BBC Sport app is now giving the attendance figure in the image with result, scorers etc, rather than where it used to be with the line ups.

  8. I took the grandkids to the Moray Motor Museum yesterday. If you’ve not been, it’s well worth a visit, with some incredible cars on display and a very knowledgeable staff member, who thoroughly enthralled an 11 year old girl who doesn’t like cars and a 12 year old boy who’s fascinated by them.
