Unearth is the wrong word, however they were unwanted at their clubs and Robbo took a chance on them. Coll has been on a bit of a downward spiral for a while now, but has been outstanding for us.

Said it before, but some players just fit better at some clubs than at others...has been a successful route for us before.

Think Coll has made his feelings about Dundee Utd clear!

Quite a radical new design which will take some time getting used to.  I'll give it  ? for the moment.

The launch is on from 9am to 5pm so maybe the school kids can get there after school.

I quite like the home kit - shame we've ditched stripes, but....NO WHITE!!!! WOOHOO!!!!

The away top is superb - best in years, imho!

That goes for the kit too!

That home top looks like it'll be a hit with the Rangers fans in Dinge-wall....even more so than some of our previous efforts!

Robbo didn't 'unearth' Donaldson and Austin, they were both well known players in Scottish football, who played for other clubs in the same league as us last season.

But he persuaded them to sign for ICT....and seems to be getting the best out of them both, compared to their previous clubs.

Counts as a success to me ...

  5. Jim Spence described the Championship next season as a 'Bear Pit', which sums it up perfectly!

Only one part time club (Alloa), I think this season (not sure about Ayr), both will be stronger than Brechin & , possibly, Dumbarton.

I think we'd have been screwed if it had been this season we went down! I could see Partick & County struggling at 1st - how many of their players, financial considerations aside, would actually fancy playing in the Championship? More County I'm thinking of here...can see various teams kicking them about on the park....

There's no doubting his legendary exploits when he can unearth such gems as Matthew Elsdon, Feliticiano Zschusschen and Alex Cooper.

Think last season there was more of a need to put together some sort of a squad quickly....bound to get a few lumps of coal, along with a diamond!

Robbo also unearthed Coll Donaldson & Nathan Austin....also, Eldson, Cooper & Zschusschen are no longer there...not tied up on long contracts (like Scott Boden was!).

That makes a very refreshing change to have the new strips available and on sale before the beginning of June.

    Well done to those concerned.

Will go down and have a look...just hope it isn't a red, white & blue home top again - would be nice to get a home top, for once!

The last thing we need is another injury-prone player.

Players who have something to prove after coming back from injury (particularly those who have been released by their clubs) can be a great asset, as they feel that they have something to prove...Craig Dargo fell into this category, as did Mr Vigurs (this time around)...arguably, you could include Aaron Doran too (I'm sure he would have had a move away by now, if he hadn't been injured).

Give the guy a chance - it's potentially a way of signing players that we may not otherwise be able to afford.

I like the white ... but they do weather much quicker.

I'm probably in minority of 1 here, but I liked the Vanilla away top we had in season 16/17...

Definetly agree that the black away top from 08/09 was superb - the anniversary one with the fans names on it (mine included) is my 'lucky cup top'!

Long term injured (achilles and then dislocated shoulder) and coming back with a point to prove .... provided we are giving ourselves a bit of an out clause so we dont have someone on the long term injury list if he gets crocked then that might be ok.

As others have said .. young and upcoming players or those coming in with a point to prove are, and always have been our forte ...

Reminds me of when we signed Craig Dargo, when Killie let him go after prolonged injury issues.

Dumbarton are part time. They proved stubborn opponents for us. Tom Walsh will be highly motivated to be full time again. Kyle Hutton may or may not sign but after his time at Rangers he took some while to recover from a broken leg. I seem to recall him being a strong player against us this year in the games I saw. He too would be highly motivated to return to full time football.

Sounds like exactly the type of player we need - someone who is young & motivated.

  12. My prediction for next season? That Vigurs will be man of the match at the next derby game in Dinge-Wall...no matter how he plays.

I can only imagine the abuse he will get as well...!

  13. 27 minutes ago, Kingsmills said:

Disappointing news and it's never good to hear players being abused by our own fans.

However, Vigurs did not move to County because of a bit of stick from the stands. At the age of thirty, he moved for more money and an equally long deal without having the upheaval of having to relocate.

I have no issue with him doing that but I sincerely hope that he is playing lower league football for at least a year longer than those who have chosen to remain.

We should focus on welcoming Tom Walsh & Angus Beith - 2 young midfielders - to the club & not get ourselves worked up about Vigurs leaving..

Vigurs is gone - all the best, Iain & hope we're back in the top flight before you are...

Very disappointed to see Vigurs leave, he has been outstanding this season.

Of course the "fans" who constantly shouted abuse at him in the first half of the season will be happy now and can turn their rancid hatred back to Polworth who will no doubt follow......

Couldn't agree more - those who have spent the last couple of seasons hurling abuse at Vigurs must be feeling proud now...who could blame him for not staying!

Yes, I'm hacked off that he's going over the bridge...but I don't blame him for doing so. He is getting a 3yr deal, on (probably) more cash & he doesn't have to move away - it's a no brainer for him!

Vigurs is the beneficiary of Uncle Roy's endless desire to get one over on us!!

The only one I can think of would be the championship winning shirt from 2003-04 being similar to one of theirs from the season before. All the rest I don't see a resemblance.

When wearing our 1st premier league top in Aberdeen once, I was asked if I was a Rangers fan! Luckily it was a friendly old boy, but could have been nasty.....

In fairness, I was wearing a jacket over the top which obscured the red sleeves...

There is absolutely no scenario where having Ross County in a league above us is a positive for ICTFC.

The ideal situation would have been for us to have made the step up again, but that didn't happen and I found it quite bizarre that Robbo was in the courier yesterday championing County and hoping they remain in the Premiership.

I get where Robbo is coming from, in terms of foootball in the Highlands, but get where you're coming from too...

Well, it will spice things up nicely next season. Will be interesting to see how they manage restructuring, and if they have to rebuild as much as we did. Of course they will have more money, but that didn't help them stay up. I think they were too quick to get rid of McIntyre, who I feel would have been far more likely to keep them up. Coyle was as bad as Foran for them, and as bad a decision. The two novices will have a hard time next season, if they stay there, methinks. I do have some sympathy for people like our old stalwart Draper who have now played for relegated teams twice in a row. A lot of difficult decisions to be made there, glad we have that behind us.

Billy McKay now relegated 4 seasons in a row too...

Maybe he feels, like I do, that it is refreshing to have Highland representation in the top tier of our national game after a century of almost half the land mass of the country being excluded from the national league system.

If, as now seems increasingly likely, County are relegated on Saturday, the Premiership will once more, with the exception of the Dons, become an exclusive Central Belt club.

As a native Highlander, I find that very disappointing.

It's a double edged sword, that one...I totally agree that it's bad for Highland football for us not to have representation in the Premier League...a lot of Central Belt pundits seem to think Inverness & Dingwall is somewhere North of the Artic Circle! It made me laugh when various managers moaned about the 'long trip North'...I understand Robbo wanting County to stay up (even if I don't entirely agree). Good point also about not wanting Inverness kids aspiring to play 'across the bridge' too.

However....it will be good to have the Highland Derbies back & it's karma for the slagging we had to put up withblast season!

Never mind, sure Uncle Roy will open his seemingly limitless cheque book to win promotion...

Ideal scenario next season...we win the league & County make the play offs...!

I really don't think we've had many if any shirts that could be seen to be a rangers top.

We've had several! Stripes do help, though...

Caley and Palace have certainly come up with quite a few variations of the red and blue and stripes over the years...here's Palace's new kit, the white 'sash' kit also appears every so often, and always has our fans dribbling with desire. The yellow trim on the home kit is somewhat controversial, although the history of it goes back to the 60's.

I liked all of Caley's recent home kits.

I quite like the home Palace top - it would be ideal, just swap the yellow for black!

Does anyone know if there will be a new kit for 2018-19 and, if so, when it will be released?

I'm figuring that there will be given the discounts available on the old kit.

If there is a new kit, lets NOT have red, white & blue on the home strip, please!! Too reminiscent of a certain dysfynctional club from Govan for my liking...

The stripes are good though...just have black, instead of white (like our home top from a few seasons ago, looked good with red, blue & black stripes).

By all means, have white on the away top....just not the home one!

By the way, having bought a Macron Scotland Rugby top, their sizing is on a par with Errea.....think Italians must be the skinniest people on Earth!

Could counter than with an impressive Hibs and much improved Killie. A few people on here were praising Roy for wielding the axe early on McIntyre. Comparing it with our situation of sticking with Foran. Impossible to say in hindsight but swinging so early may have cost them dearly. 3/4 managers in one season can't be good for players.

Can't say whether binning McIntyre was right (it was, according to a County fan at work), but they definetly shouldn't have appointed Coyle....
