Yes, I think this is a strong possibility and there are others, too. However, that does not solve the major risk that exists: if Storey gets injured, we have the sum total of nil strikers to choose from, especially now that Foran, Ferguson and Fisher are all FFFing crocked and Sutherland is out on loan. Risky!

Likewise, should we need a goal in the dying minutes of a cup tie and want to go 2 up front, what do we do? I'm sure a few of the guys can do a job up there, but that isn't the same as being able to bring a recognised striker on alongside Storey. Compare our situation to that at County - they now have 5 strikers to choose from: Boyce, Curran, Schalke, Graham and Goodwillie. Galling!

Didn't do them much good last night

Fair point....except, if he knew that why didn't he just say "it's against the rules" instead of "he's not the kind of player we need"?

Probably because, like so many armchair managers, he wasn't aware of the situation simply because Higdon is not the type of player he wants.

Has Storey been officially credited with our first goal then? As far as I can see he was merely in the vicinity of the player who did put the ball into the net, and Storey didn't even celebrate as if to pretend that he'd got a touch.

He'll be glad of it though, as his 1 goal in 10 games is a pretty grim stat for any striker.

BBC credit Storey. Nothing on SFA site

  4. CJT is the Supporters Trust. Since inception there seems to have been quite a turnover of board members. I know some on current board and they are good hard working people, as are the people I know who have been on it in the past. It does, however, seem that there is a lack of 'togetherness' at the top of the trust. CJT's own website is very infrequently updated so I'm not sure that anyone would take responsibility for a forum on this one.

  5. Not done predictions in some time so here goes for this weekend.

    Rangers v Kilmarnock............Kilmarnock
    Annan Athletic v Greenock Morton.........Annan
    Dumbarton v Dundee.............Dundee
    Dundee United v Partick Thistle..........Partick
    Motherwell v Inverness Caledonian Thistle............Inverness
    Ross County v Linlithgow Rose...........County
    Heart of Midlothian v Hibernian..........Hearts
    East Kilbride v Celtic ............Celtic

Would love tosee Lithgy and EK go on but cant see it. On form there's only going to be one non prem team in QF's though its not inconcievable that Dumbarton and Hibs could progress.

  6. Sneckboy, your scenario can never come about. Both Tesco and Asda deal in zero hours contracts so your man would never know if he was going to make more with a move.

Why do people have to find worst case scenarios out of stories. As I said before, and no matter what McInnes says, it is more likely the agent who said Tansey was keen on a move. Also there is more to life than money. Tansey has always stated he made a mistake moving before. He and his family are very happy in Inverness and there is probably a lot more for him to think about in making any move to another town or city.

As someone who has been travelling to the majority of away games for the last four seasons, most of which have been using the bus provided by CJT I am completely bamboozled as to why they have taken the decision to prevent me from travelling to Motherwell. I have never had any issues with CJT before and am really quite angered after giving my service to them for so long. It is the young fans who kept the bus going at times as we have already seen when we never went to Celtic or Mitherwell earlier this season they failed to even run a bus due to such low numbers. I am now completely discouraged by travelling on this service in future and it seems to me they have really shot themselves in the foot on this matter. I don't know why they think they have the right to prevent fans from travelling to an away game when our numbers are so low.

If you are one of those who were on bus 3 then you'll also be one of those meeting with CJT tomorrow night. You will also know the reason for the meeting and the banning order on saturday. The meeting will allow you to air your own views and make suggestions.

  8. From the club statement, and the suggestion that Greg has parted company with his agent, it seems to me that things were happening without the players knowledge. McInnes is probably right in that he and Hughes were of the opinion that negotiations were progressing as they should. It also looks like someone at Aberdeen was given a heads up as to the trigger clause. To me it seems that Tansey was called in by chairman to discuss transfer and that he was shocked by dealings going on behind his back.

Caley Thistle are pleased to announce that midfield player Greg Tansey will be available for Saturday’s William Hill Scottish Cup tie at Motherwell and beyond.

Aberdeen FC made their official approach to us on Saturday evening in relation to an offer for Greg Tansey. This was followed by a period of activity, culminating in their final offer on Monday afternoon.

This was an unwelcome and late approach for a very popular and influential player within the club.

However, after meeting with Greg following the final offer we were delighted to be assured by him that he is happy in Inverness and that he had elected to remain at Tulloch Caledonian Stadium and we thank Greg for his integrity, honesty and loyalty to the club.

The club then informed Aberdeen FC that their final offer had not been successful.

In the period after Aberdeen FC making official contact with us, we were of course determined to act in the best interest of Greg Tansey and our Club and we are confident that the outcome will be warmly received by our fans.

John Hughes is happy the transfer window has now closed, that he still has the services of Greg Tansey and has added a further two players to his squad.

  10. Comments on another thread got me thinking. If we could take certain qualities from all our past managers and mix them all together to mould a master what qualities would you take from each of Pele, Robertson, Brewster, Christie, Butcher, Hughes.

Have left out Baltacha because some folk may confuse his attributes with ICT and with Caledonian.

  11. Methinks Shauns 'very reliable source' is ICT Loyal Army facebook page. Someone is very much winding you up Shaun. Lets look at the facts.

Higdon....as far as I know he's still contracted to Sheffield United

Robson...will be almost 38 by end of season and more likely to retire than move club.

Zapata...Came on trial with Liam Hughes. I'd have thought that if he impressed when on trial he'd have been signed before now.

  12. Without meaning to defend the ICT board I'm of the opinion that it would not be wise at this time to make any public statement. This situation could still become the subject of an SPFL enquiry.
