Partick Thistle -V- Inverness CT - Preview
Douglas Mackenzie replied to tm4tj's topic in Caley Thistle
Hyde was exposed tonight you could see after minutes he was out of his depth.I hope his confidence doesn't take a hit. Defence poor and midfield not in charge. Missing experienced players tonight.- 79 replies

Partick Thistle -V- Inverness CT - Preview
Douglas Mackenzie replied to tm4tj's topic in Caley Thistle
We are struggling tonight especially in defence.Doran not getting in the game so far.Tiffoney and Graham causing us all sorts of problems.Samuel's doing well although probably defending more than he is getting chances to attack.Partick just not letting us play- 79 replies

Good all round performance by the team.Thought Samuel's was good today and Deas fair steadied the defence Allardyce controlled the game and when he plays well the team does .Thankfully not another draw, but didn't expect to win 4-1,so well done ICT

Well that was the first game of the season and after last week it was disappointing. Queens were right at it first half and if they were better at finishing we would-have been toast by half time.Midfield poor first half although slightly better second half.Defence shaky until Devine came on and we have ridgers to thank for still being in the game. Mackay goal was good and he worked hard all day as did MacGregor and Boyd. Carson was pick of the rest. Second half better, but realistically we need to improve and pass better. We need to stop being caught on the ball. Granted key players missing, but we should be able to cope with that.Queens deserve to be in league.Early days and hopefully we will improve.

Inverness CT -V- St Johnstone - Premiership Play-Off
Douglas Mackenzie replied to tm4tj's topic in Caley Thistle
WellI enjoyed my first season contributing to this forum and respect all other views and opinions even if I don't always agree with them. I think we all have a passion for ICT and want to see them in the Premiership. There is no doubt many mistakes were made this year in team selection at times and tactics, but we seemed to get through that period and more or less be on the same page as we came up the home straight. Mid season we all (me included) questioned the will and committment of the team and quire rightly so,but these last dozen or so games they have risen to the challenge and done themselves and the club proud so well done to the team! Finally, I always wondered if we were actually ready for the Premiership this year and going up too early would have meant a season languishing around the relegation zone again,so maybe best we try and keep building and getting stronger and then when we are ready for promotion we can do it in style. See you all next season.- 317 replies

Inverness CT -V- St Johnstone - Premiership Play-Off
Douglas Mackenzie replied to tm4tj's topic in Caley Thistle
Two goals in 10 mins we can do it Allardyce is the man. That crazy 10 mins after break did for us.However I think team did well to get where they did this season and if it wasn't for that 11 game losing streak it could all have been so different. We never do anything the easy way Anyway well done for all your efforts in recent weeks.- 317 replies

Inverness CT -V- St Johnstone - Premiership Play-Off
Douglas Mackenzie replied to tm4tj's topic in Caley Thistle
When I saw the starting 11 I was doubtful without Samuel's and Chalmers. We were rubbish for the first half, no width and long high balls as usual to the two smallest players up front.Second half was totally different.Great subs, delighted to see Allardyce back as he calmed the team and showed experience. Two brilliant goals by McAleer. Well done ICT.Please don't start like that on Monday.- 317 replies

Inverness CT -V- Arbroath - Play Off - Previews
Douglas Mackenzie replied to tm4tj's topic in Caley Thistle
Proud of these boys, yes the game was crap to watch as a spectacle but when we were down to 9 men,8 men and so on,when you think the ref had an absolute howler and backs were to the wall,we dug deep and showed true grit- 190 replies

Arbroath defo strongest playing with wind, but we have to learn to keep ball on ground and pass the ball.High kicks forward met by Arbroath defence every time- 190 replies

Inverness CT -V- Arbroath - Play Off - Previews
Douglas Mackenzie replied to tm4tj's topic in Caley Thistle
What a disappointment that first half was, but the second was slightly better.Long balls never work when you have smaller strikers. We looked disjointed and Arbroath had us man marked well.Broadfoot has experience and served us well over the season, but he needs a rest.I would play Duffy on Friday.Just think we need to practice passing as it is woeful at times. Well it is half time,so lets make Friday better. Special mention for the officials, you too were dire.- 190 replies

Partick Thistle -V- Inverness CT - Play Off 2nd Leg - Preview
Douglas Mackenzie replied to tm4tj's topic in Caley Thistle
I think it has been all said. Not a great watch and grateful for the early goal.Thought Ridgers,Carson,Sutherland and Samuel's were standouts.Passing at times pretty woeful and as long as we have small strikers high balls up front are no use unless it is spot on perfect for a Samuel's run. That said a good shift by all and well done for grinding out a result. Good crowd and what a difference our younger singing supporters make.- 122 replies

Partick Thistle -V- Inverness CT - Play Off 2nd Leg - Preview
Douglas Mackenzie replied to tm4tj's topic in Caley Thistle
Terrific game with Caley playing some nice football and what a goal that second was.The pass from Sutherland was sublime. They were dirty players (Partick) and it looked like they were told to be hacking our players down. What a miss by Alegeria or similar name. Well done ICT support at the game.Lets finish it off Friday- 122 replies

Well that was no classic, but job done and 3 points.Concerned that this level of performance will not be good enough for play offs.We really needed a second goal.At least I can grow my nails soon, as watching ICT when 1-0 up can be nerve wracking as I waited for the self induced mistake and equaliser.Thankfully it never came. We need to really tighten up at the back at times and stop giving away soft free kicks in dangerous areas. Well done for the win

Well we threw that game away and dropped 2 points. We must have just came out 2nd half all complacent, thinking we were good enough to hold onto our lead, when we are not good enough and need to fight for 90 minutes. Surely we have learned that after this season.

Nothing will take away from a good all round performance yesterday and yes maybe saying Yogi was a master at tactics was pushing it,but come back to me when any Inverness Manager can claim similar to 3 cups and first division with Falkirk,Scottish Cup with Inverness,PFA Manager of the year etc. What I meant is Yogi will have done his homework and if he sees any weakness he will capitalise.Thankfully the boys were all good yesterday.

At last a good performance all over.I have been critical of Sutherland a few times this season, but today I thought he was immense. The big difference was the team had desire, grit, determination and fight.Great to see that spirit back. We need to build on today get the confidence fully back and believe we can do it. Maybe we are coming good again at the right time.Well done to all today.
