  1. Fair play 4ize - my drunken vitriol was fired in the wrong direction.

Myself, I will sorely miss the odd win at home and the ritual around which I organise my weekends, but I would rather sit and watch County than sit by, doing nothing, while seeing the club I love being buggered up by Craig Brewster, Malky Thompson, Graeme Bennett and those supporters who believe that doing nothing is a mark of pride.

An empty seat on match day is a more telling statement than a thousand posts on here.

It looks like we've got a disagreement over tactics here. I'd prefer to take my seat make my feelings known from there. There are plenty of good suggestions on this forum for ways to get our point across without turning away (chants, demos, e-mails etc.). If we try these things and are ignored then i'll be the first to come on here and tell you that you're right.

I'd had a couple meself for the original post - giz a hug :rotflmao:

  2. Johndo, i sincerely hope that we will see you at ICT games soon. Yer passion and commitment over the years has shown you to be a true a fan (as in fanatic not fanny) and we need guys like you in our support.

4ize, you obviously see watching ICT as a consumer choice rather than a big part of your life. Fair enough, the merger was always going to attract people like that - your entrance fee will be missed.

We've had 14 amazing years following this club. It needs us now much more than it did when we were doing well.

I hope that all those who care about this club can get together to change it and support it. Turning away won't help us to stay in the SPL. Showing how much we care just might.

Oooooh! Shake that handbag, sunshine :rotflmao:

I'm one of the the seven or so people in section B, main stand who, for the last decade, have braved the disapproving glares of the toffee-paper faithful to scream the team on. I've held a season ticket through most of those years, and bought owt the club has to offer in terms of merchandise.

I took the time off work to go down to Edinburgh with Exiled ICT and LKMUT to present the Exile's petition when Partick took us to the High Court. And I believe that voting with your feet is the only thing likely to wake this club up. You'll note that another of those folk - Mee - who worked so hard to get that petition organised, printed and delivered, has boycotted games for the last couple of years on principle.

[Edited - Holyrood wasn't commissioned at the time, but I accidentally said '*****' in the Church of Scotland HQ, which was fun]

  3. Johndo, you're spot on. Your only mistake was starting this thread and providing a platform for the cultish faction who reckon that anyone who doesn't blindly and slavishly trot along, to watch the destruction of everything this club has been built on, isn't a supporter; what they mean, I think, is that you're not a fan, as in fanatic (and as opposed to fanny) - and that should be a badge of honour for any. I support my kids, but I'm not so fanatical that I can't see when they do wrong. To those people, I say that voting with your feet is the only supporters' protest which will have any positive effect in the long term.

And yes, I mean you Stan :rotflmao:

  4. Brewster is still learning his trade. He is young, and still needs to work on aspects of his managerial abilities. But he has brought success to the club in the sense that he has kept us up and looks as though he can keep us up again. I know that one year we will go down, the way other clubs around us are improving is scary, and we don't have the resources. But brew signs good and promising players that will become the future of the club. He has given home-grown players their chance, and seems to be a good judge of character. I'll admit that he does need a PR man to tell him how to appeal to the fans (starting by keeping barry somehow) and could try sticking to the same tactics now and again.

I cannot remember many SPL teams who sacked their manager at this stage of the season in our condition and have gone onto better things. If we can keep mcallister for 5 years and wyness for two when they are awful, then surely brew deserves his crack at the whip.

With that degree of faith there's no argument likely to sway you from the Church of Brew. Contradictions to your happy comments are already available on this board, if you choose to see them. Can you say 'Gouranga'?

  5. To be honest, ide rather see him play out the rest of the season and finish at that, but everyone - regardless wether Bazza can play or not - would go against ANYTHING in what Brewster says, it's just what everyones nature is now a days, and it's rather poor. People need to learn to let go, obviously he's a club legend.. but that doesn't mean he has to be tied playing for us untill he gives up.

That all sounds very reasonable. Unfortunately you don't seem to consider that

    a. It's his testimonial year. You just don't do stuff like this when you've awarded a player a testimonial. Against Liverpool. It makes you look stupid.

    b. Barry was told he could have a six month contract to show what he's got, yet he's had next to no first team football and, when he has come on, it's largely been because we're already screwed. Again, looks stupid.

    c. Brew was a club legend at Dundee United, before doing one to Ionikos. Tripped over his laces to get back there as manager, showed his ineptitude in every department (hatchet-man theorists step back, he was just rubbish) and looked stupid. Eddie Thompson was not. Our board then were, and now look very stupid indeed. From a footballing perspective, anyway.

  6. hmmnnn, maybe Barry is being released from his contract as a player, which will enable him so sign on as the Manager when Brew and ICT part company by mutual consent.

Aye, I saw that flock of pigs, too :rotflmao:

Unless they land on Grassa's head ICT will be without my ?700 + next year. I can watch eleven despondent guys run in vain around a near-silent football pitch and lose at home every other week while some muppet who fancies himself as a bit of a talent shouts at them from the touchline for far less money at a variety of grounds across the Highlands.

The party is well and truly over. Pass the Alka Seltzer...

  7. "Manager Craig Brewster said "It was obviously a difficult decision to come too, Barry wanted to know as early as possible so that he could get sorted out.""

I'd be surprised if Barry isn't completely baffled at being offered a six month contract in which to prove he still has something to offer and then being given beggar all chance on the pitch to show what he has to offer.

  8. Yes.

Great striker, poor coach, suspect man-manager, dire tactician, laughable PR man, dreadful scouting credentials, too delusional to go, must be shown the door.

That just fits on one line if you work on the resolution, but I'd not room for Igor :rotflmao:

  9. just heard about ict offering new contract to the muppet today, 4 home wins all year, one up front at home, team, don't know if they are coming or going especially up front, can't speak in front of media, won't speak in front of supporters, blames referees etc for ALL his losses, was at Dundee Utd game today a new low. I along with other supporters have said if this clown is given a new contract then I/we won't be buying season tickets next season let alone sitting on our seats for the remainder of this season. Surely somebody upstairs at ICT must be seeing how bad it is, the man should be ashamed of himself and RESIGN now. Along with that noddy dog side kick of his. Went on official website tonight to read what he had to say for himself and suprise suprise the CAPTAIN is giving the speel, pass the buck brewster I wouldn't have expected anything else.

    Resign you useless fool

    I love you :rotflmao:

    Pssst, are you Robbo?

  10. I know everyone has opinions as to who should be playing up front and who shouldn't and I know I've voiced my opinions on the subject as much as the next person.....however, the truth of the matter is, if your playing a lone striker and they aren't getting any service or support then they could be the worlds best and it wouldn't make any difference.

Niculae, who most would agree was a cut above, couldn't do it all on his own. He was also guilty of missing sitters, but then he was touted as the great white hope and had a national call-up in his sights so was clearly trying too hard at times. For me the damning fact is still that a striker like Brew - **** his badges, tactics, subs, and the rest - that the guy as a *coach* cannot instruct or inspire the strikers he's brought in, to score goals. He can't even, after four months, get Barrowman to time his jumps so that he connects with the bloody ball.

This idiot, with his able assistant, is going to take the club I love back to the SFL, next season if not this. He has made it feel like a chore rather than a pleasure to take my seat every other Saturday. He practically ran to the club whose team soundly beat ours this afternoon, and Eddie Thompson saw that he was sh!te, and did what was best for the club he loved by getting rid of that same man. Why on earth should we suffer the indignity of being laid low by the same guy, while he blames everyone but himself - including the fans who will be exhilarated or depressed with their side's fortunes years after he's gone - and remains in denial?

And we're in contract negotiations with the man, to extend his stay? There are people running this club who know fine how to run a business. Are they trying to run this one into the ground?

    I really have had enough.

  11. The last sentence of your last post. There is a problem at home i will grant you but some of the moaning is not necessary.

I don't see where you get the 'moaning' business from - I honestly would take bottom place if it shocked the board into bringing in someone who has the future of the club at heart and can take us forward. You only need to look at Dundee United to see what getting the right guy can achieve; also, what getting the wrong guy can do. If that's moaning or crap, then I'm happy to be known as a crap moaner :rotflmao:

  12. It's incredible, and baffling. Only the OF have a better away record. Only Hamilton have a worse home record (but from 1 home game less than us).

If our record was the other way round, the fans would be very content. As it is, 3,000 see us play badly and lose, while only 100 or so see us do well and win.

Agreed I really cant understand it

We set up with one up front against Falkirk - what more can I say? Even when we start with two centre forwards at home it's still the one-up-front mentality, with a target man to lay it off for the 'real' striker. Why? Because that's all the manager knows. It works away from home - with a healthy rub of the green like missed penalties and blinding saves from Esson - but it doesn't work at home. Still, if he makes last orders at the Heathmount, Brew can toast the victory secure in the knowledge that eighth place delays his P45 at least until January. I'd have taken going bottom today if it meant that we could move on from this lunacy. Heigh ho...

  13. I see nothing wrong with giving players a rocket when they're under-performing. Just look at Jim Mclean and Sir Alex, or how about Fabio Cappello and Otmar Hitzfeld? I'd take a grumpy old b"stard over a nice guy any day. Some of the anti-brewster threads on this forum are becoming rather petty.

Agreed, Brewster has his faults, as both you and I would probably acknowledge, but the constant nit-picking by some on here really is getting tedious (spelling?).

Oh. Well, that's alright then. Cheers.

Can we discuss Barack Obama, Somali pirates and fiscal policy on here, or would those be off-topic? Cos, apart from us languishing in the erse-end of the league, lacking effective strikers in a way we never have since Robbo took charge, seeing dressing-room discord apparently spill out onto the pitch, watching utter pish at home games - and, significantly, trying to identify the cause of it - in football terms there doesn't seem to be a right lot to talk about. We'll just leave it then, eh?

  14. Carlisle's Danny Carlton - on the grounds that we probably could afford him, he's not getting a game and is already out on a short loan spell, and he can jump. 6-month contract to buy out if he wanted to come.

Richie was someone who could change a game for you, and we let him go. Keogh, when fit, could change a game for you (and by the way, what are we doing with players on the training pitch that ends up with the likes of Liam and Markus out for a season?) - good luck to him at Borough Briggs. Dargo and Wyness sounded like they changed the game for St. Mirren on Saturday, and I believe Bayne had a wee bit of an impact for the Pars. I think there's a guy called John Rankin doing fairly well at Hibs, too.

    Who let these people go?

A certain Bryan Prunty got a hat trick at the weekend - in the second division, where Barrowman finally made his reputation, having failed to make an impact in the SPL.

    The future is...

  15. Imrie was superb and clear MoM for me.

Tokely the stand-out in the defence and reserve MoM; Proc and Grant very good; don't know what's up with Hastings, looks out of sorts these days. Ross was the only guy who consistently looked like going toe-to-toe with Nade and coming out on top, though Munro had his moments.

Russell's passing has improved and he put in a shift, McBain started well but faded - as has been said, Vigurs should have been the replacement for Blackie. Esson played well and should be stuck with, as long as he doesn't make a habit of holding a half-hour debate with the defenders about goals conceded (looking forward to seeing the highlights and whether he could have done better with his positioning). Barry's tendency to fall over looking for free kicks is getting more pronounced and, agreed, he should stay in the super-sub category from now on.

Barrowman - apart from the Chelsea Pensioners in front of me, he was the most passive spectator in the stadium. Rooney - needs to learn to time his jumps. Completely toothless attack which couldn't find the back of what was essentially an empty net. Wood worked hard but his touch really let him down several times.

  16. Well the Hib's game had saved him from the wolves at the door last week, as people hoped that it was the start of something new, but only Brewster can make it worse AT HOME by playing the same squad but totally messing it up with his 'tactical' awareness

The man is drinking in last chance saloon - he cant be seen to make mistakes - I am sure that he thought that if he changed it again and fecked it up that he himself woule be fecked.

Lets face it - Esson was the saviour at Hibs - Brew UNFORTUNATELY got lucky.

How long do we have to stand this nonsense.

Or fortunately Rooney has something to prove - or was that managerial brilliance ? :rotflmao: :thumb04:

Look on the bright side, at least we only wasted 45 minutes instead of the usual 88.
