  1. In other news Alex Chisholm, former Police Inspector of the parish and Clach stalwart joins us in the back office, apparently becoming our second Child Protection Officer alongside another Police retiree Willie Maclennan ( talk about a thin blue line) .. Unsure why this is seen as a priority unless we have a big paper bill at Rodgers ... either that or Scot Gardiner has heard he can get him tickets for Ibrox & Stamford Bridge ..
  2. Players at this level should really be two footed or at least willing to trust their weaker side. Macallister had two chances that needed him to stop just standing on his left foot.
  3. Hope we are receiving a fair ticket allocation
  4. Clearly Dens Park is not a designated green belt zone I wonder if Scot Gardiner ever touted a battery farm there
  5. Possibly, but they need to start the process without undue delay as it could take months to identify who might be preparedto break the news to him
  6. My name recognises an unsung contributor to that momentous event .. the Celtic Park roof
  7. When we did get it wide the ball just ended up being recycled backwards and across their defence rather than fizzing the ball early into the near or back post areas. QP were by no means the Land of Giants first XI and we could have looked to exploit that a bit more. One ball swung across their 6 yard box at pace late in game had their defence turned and just needed a touch, but just too predictable overall. This was Ferguson 0 Davidson 1 on the day.
  8. I thought QP closed the space really efficiently in and around the box first half & stifled us probably aware we"d be looking for that final pass too many. This meant we although we were creating "chances" they were mostly half chances on the turn or shots from the edge of the box Gilmour coming closest from distance. Second half I thought we lost our shape almost immediately after the goal although Kerr looked threatening when cutting in on his left foot and there were glimpses of good interchange down that side. Pepples looked pacy but rusty when he came on. We could have done with a long throw exponent at the death to ask their defence a different question. Overall we seemed to lack a bit of leadership on the park a few old sweats needed particularly in midfield as we sometimes have to do the dirty work more enthusiastically and earn the right to play. Sadly QP won most of the individual battles second half & had sussed us out well before the end. Just my recall & thoughts at the game.
  9. Gutsiest call was to stand there in just a jumper for 90 minutes
  10. I also wonder if they've told Gordon Fyffe asI received a reply to an email sent to the SLO mailbox from Gordon Fyffe just 2 days ago when he still considered himself to be SLO from his email signature.
  11. Trying to score the perfect goal first half.
  12. Okay thanks. Well all we need to do now is find out who is this weeks Communication Officer & let him know
  13. Any truth to the rumour SG already refers to him as Wearra Pepple ?
  14. Atmosphere inside grounds wasn't in decline in the decade after the alcohol banning order. Punters may have been thirstier I accept.
  15. 1980 ( terracing) or 2016 (seating) ?
  16. Just a thought but will the Supporters Liason Officer also be liasing with the supporters ?
  17. Not particularly but we are where we are eh ..
  18. As money has made the game elitist in certain parts of the world so society has moved on and the well established working class ritual of attending a football match has been diminished by the removal of terracing to comply with "requirements". Perhaps if proper inspections had been introduced by the Taylor Report for clubs of a certain size safe terracing could then have been introduced incrementally instead of going from one extreme of dilapidation to plastic central on a budget. The legacy is we are left with half empty stadiums everywhere devoid of atmosphere as costs of regular attendance have risen and the attraction has paled. Away fans buck this seating requirement by standing up for 90 minutes and making a day of it. Historically If you wanted to sweetie rustle there was always the main stand. Fans historically were also left to get the atmosphere going.. without pyros as we couldn't crowd fund back in the day or source them they were the preserve of foreign clubs .. (ironically health and safety now doesn't extend in reality beyond plastic seating & bovril being served luke warm ) you also weren't choreographed over the head and reminded it was happening " Right here Right now" or whatever guff at full volume. Fair enough a club tune as teams come out but loud music on a loop pre kick off is just awful. Should we trust clubs to get even more innovative we'll probably get music blaring from an electric organ every time the ball goes out for a shy or a corner, ice hockey esque Rant over
  19. Maybe there is a benefit to playing in orange
  20. He'd possibly just been told the Everton score
  21. Its all about going on a run ( easier said than done but as a group hopefully the team gels) and see where it takes us. There's been little realistic expectation recently of a playoff spot so if safety could be established we can at least play without pressure and hopefully Morton's run hits the buffers as they currently look most likely for 4th spot on current form. That said there are plenty games left and a tight mid table to call with Ayr welcoming a new manager and the Pars with key players out recently. Airdrie could actually be the dark horse given recent results.
  22. A great away result should give us a morale boost going into the next couple of weeks.
  23. Calinaccio .. Duncs bolting the door !
