SPL & Mitre - New 4 Year Deal

Teaser Paragraph:
SPL and Mitre Agree New Four Year Deal
The Scottish Premier League and Mitre today announced a four year partnership that will see Mitre continue as official ball supplier until 2015.
Mitre has supplied the SPL with top quality match balls since the start of the league in 1998 and the Mitre TENSILE ball will continue to be used for the 2011/12 season, with each club having a personalised ball printed in club colours and displaying their club badge.
As well as continuing as official ball supplier, Mitre’s partnership with leading sports retailer ACA Sports will enable supporters to purchase each club’s TENSILE ball as Mitre’s Official Online Retail Partners for the SPL.
On the announcement, Neil Doncaster, Chief Executive of the SPL said: “Mitre has been a valued partner of the SPL since 1998 and I am delighted to announce their continued commitment to the SPL for the next four seasons.
“This year the SPL distributed over £17 million to Clydesdale Bank Premier League clubs. We remain focused on supporting SPL clubs financially as much as possible. The partnership with Mitre is an important piece in that jigsaw.
“Over the past 13 seasons of the SPL, 7,651 goals have been scored with Mitre balls and I hope to see many more over the coming seasons.
Gary Hibbert, Managing Director of Mitre, commented on the deal, “The SPL is as passionate and exciting a competition as any and we’re thrilled to extend the deal to be the official ball supplier, continuing our long standing involvement in the Scottish game. We’re looking forward to further successes with the SPL over the next four years and with the additional partnership with ACA Sports - meaning fans can buy replicas of their club’s footballs - this only enhances our offering to fans and clubs.
Mitre’s partnership with leading sports retailer ACA Sports will enable supporters to purchase each club’s tensile ball as well as other ranges of replica balls as Mitre’s Official Online retail partners for the SPL.
ACA Sports Managing Director, Alistair Cameron, said; “We are delighted to be working in partnership with the SPL and Mitre. This landmark deal will allow every fan in the SPL the opportunity to buy their clubs match and replica balls for the first time in the league’s history – something we are all very excited about. “

Just the ticket!

Teaser Paragraph:
Season tickets on target -- but deadline looms for renewing your usual seat.
Caley Jags fans are voting with their feet and the club has sold more season tickets than at this time last year. But the 30th June is the deadline for current season book holders seeking to renew.
Operations director Kenny Cameron said:
"Season ticket sales have been very encouraging, particularly as these are the lifeblood of the club. It's a sign of how pleased supporters are at our good form over the past two seasons. But from Monday, July 4, we will be free to allocate seats previously held by season ticket holders, which obviously includes prime viewing spots.
"Anyone who has intended to renew but has not yet done so for various reasons will need to get their skates on -- or risk losing their usual seat. The club has shown its appreciation of the challenging economic environment by not passing on the VAT increase in the season ticket prices and I know fans have welcomed this."
From July 4, all the unallocated seats will be available on a first-come first-served basis to new season ticket purchasers. Those seeking to renew -- and new purchasers -- can do so at the club shop at the Stadium or by logging on to www.ictfc.co.uk
By doing so, you will guarantee your seat for the opening home game against Hibs on July 30  -- plus the right to buy additional tickets for our first sell-out game of the new season against Rangers.

New recruit Tom Aldred (right) helped model the new away strip which has just been launched
Caley Thistle's new defender Tom Aldred, on loan from Watford for six months, helped model the club's new away strip today. The Englishman could make his debut when Terry Butcher's troops play their first match against neighbours Clach at Grant Street Park on Monday.
The new white away strip, with black sleeves and red and blue trim, has been delivered by Errea after Caley Jags fans Ann and Fraser Mills of Inverness won a competition to fly to the Parma factory to see the first shirts roll off the production line.
"New strip, new era", said manager Terry Butcher, "and we hope they sell well." The strips go on sale from 10 am on Saturday from the club shop and online at www.ictfc.com and Ann Mills said:"From a fan's eye view, I'm sure they're a winner."
Skipper Richie Foran and longest serving player Ross Tokely gave Aldred backup in modelling the shirts.

ICT - FFIT Champions 2010/11

Teaser Paragraph:
Caley Thistle have finished top of the SPL, seeing off their rivals to lift the inaugural Football Fans in Training 5-a side trophy.
The 7 man squad of ICT supporters faced opposition from FFIT participants at Celtic, Rangers, Dundee United, Hearts, Kilmarnock, Motherwell, St Johnstone and St Mirren, as well as an all star team including ex-players Derek Ferguson, Billy Dodds, Alan Preston and the BBC’s Richard Gordon, on their way to winning the cup at St Mirren Park.
FFIT is a 12 week healthy eating and physical activity course run by community coaches at all SPL clubs and is funded by the Scottish Government and the Football Pools. The 412 men who completed FFIT programmes across the SPL last season lost a total of 2.3 tonnes in weight, 24 metres from their waists and had a great time “It’s like a night out with the lads without the drink”.
ICT FFIT goalie Stephen Hobain, aged 37, joined the course last September. He’d piled on the weight since stopping smoking 5 years ago and couldn’t shift it. He lost almost 2 stones and dropped a trouser size whilst on the 12 week course “The Caley Thistle coaches gave us fantastic advice about how to improve our eating and becoming more active. I have taken up running, cycling and swimming as well as 5-a-side football and have never felt better.”
Inverness Caley Thistle have been set the challenge to sign up 100 men for FFIT 2011/2012. Fans aged 35-65 with a trouser waist size over 38 inches can register by calling 0800 389 2129, texting FFIT to 88802, emailing [email protected] or visiting www.spl-ffit.co.uk.

Official Travel Club

Teaser Paragraph:
OFFICIAL ICT TRAVEL CLUB TAKES TO THE ROAD
Whilst the fans of Inverness Caledonian Thistle FC have been enjoying their summer break, Inverness Caledonian Thistle and the Supporters Trust have remained busy with preparations for the season ahead.  Part of those preparations has been the formation of the Official ICT Travel Club.
Don Johnstone of the Supporters Trust commented that: “Requests coming in to the Supporters Trust Board for organised travel to away games have been increasing over the past couple of seasons.  We have done some buses to cup games and other one offs and they have always proved popular.  As such we feel the time is now right for us to be offering a regular service for the fans and we are committed to organising buses for all away fixtures during the forthcoming season.  We’ve had a really good couple of seasons with winning Div 1 to come straight back up to the SPL and then finishing in a strong 7th place last season.  We want to give as many fans as possible the opportunity to enjoy the football, both home and away.”
Kenny Cameron of Inverness Caledonian Thistle FC commented that: “Terry [butcher] and the board are delighted with this season and would love to encourage a bigger attendance both at home and away, and what better way to encourage away fans than to launch an Official Travel Club in association with the Supporters Trust.”
Ian West of the ICT Social Club commented:  “It’s not always possible for us to get enough interest to justify our own bus to away games.  However, by pulling resources with the Football Club and Supporters Trust we now have a service that can benefit everyone.”
The ICT Supporters Trust is a member of Supporters Direct, the national umbrella organisation for Supporters Trusts.  One of the main principles of a Supporters Trust is that it exists to serve everyone within the Football Community that it occupies and in keeping with that it is not compulsory for fans to be a member in order to travel.  We will be asking that anyone wishing to use the service registers their details, but that registration will be free.  Anyone who does wish to join the Supporters Trust will be welcomed and their support will be recognised by way of an entitlement to discounted travel.
The Supporters Trust organise many events throughout the year in order to raise funds which allow them to offer financial support and equipment to a variety of football related good causes.  They have been firm supporters of the Inverness Street Leagues for a number of years and have assisted the club at all levels on a number of different projects as well as working closely with them on a variety of fan related matters which include the recent introduction of a new official fans “singing section” in the North Stand.
None of this would be possible without our members, and the more members we have the more we can do.  For more information on the Supporters Trust, together with details on how to join and/or register for the Travel Club visit our website at www.ictst.co.uk, e.mail us at [email protected], write to us at  Inverness Caledonian Thistle Supporters Trust, PO Box 5736, Inverness, IV1 9DD or give us a call on 07769 697899.

Tade signs for Caley Thistle

Teaser Paragraph:
Gregory Tade is taking French leave from Raith Rovers to join Caley Jags for the new campaign.
Raith Rovers hitman Gregory Tade has confirmed that he will be playing for Caley Thistle next season.
Gregory, 24, will become the second French player to play for the team and says he turned down offers from St Johnstone and Dunfermline to come to Inverness.
The big fellow --- he is 6 feet one inch tall -- showed up well against Caley Jags in duels with Raith in the First Division and he has agreed to pen a one-year deal with the option of a second year.
"I believe I'm going to the right club and I'm looking forward to testing myself at SPL level", says Gregory.
From Nantes, he came to Scotland five years ago, starting with Forfar Athletic before scoring 23 goals in 61 appearances for Stranraer. His move to Clyde aborted when that club had to free all its players because of its financial plight, and Raith Rovers moved in to land him.
He has scored 13 goals in 65 appearances for the Kirkcaldy club. He is the cousin of Armand One, now at Stranraer.
