Peterhead -V- Inverness CT - League1 - Preview

Blue Toon on the up

Off to Balmoor Stadium to play Peterhead this Saturday in what will be a tough test of our resolve given the Blue Toon's current surge up the table having won their last three fixtures. We did win the first meeting in the Highlands 2-0 whilst Peterhead were getting to grips with League1 football. A Sole goal and a Spoons strike were enough to take the points that day. Looks like it will be a more difficult proposition this time with Peterhead on a roll.

Beware, storm Benjamin is coming...

Scott Kellacher has been a year in his role as Head Coach now and has already picked up a couple of Manager of the Month awards for August and September. Calum MacLeod will no doubt continue to deputise at right back. Luis Longstaff hobbled off at half time against Kelty and may be a doubt.

Meanwhile, everyone has benefitted from Accies being given a six point deduction for deceit. Cheating the whole League and SPFL by their scurrilous wheeling & dealing. This was no accident but it was fraudulent activity to deceive all. I feel there will be more to come on this despite Accies claiming they have done nothing wrong and will appeal the decision with the SFA. Meanwhile, Accies drop to sixth in the table and we now occupy second place.

Co-Managers Ryan Strachan and Jordon Brown have done a great job since moving up and steadying the ship.

Flynn Duffy is now flourishing at Peterhead since his setback at Inverness and subsequent release as part of the Administration process, now on a one year deal with Peterhead. Former Dundee United loanee, Goalkeeper Jack Newman, was another released from his deal at the start of Admin at the Caledonian Stadium and is also on a one year deal at Balmoor. Former Aberdeen player Niall McGinn is on their books. Max Barry is a former Buckie Thistle forward who can cause problems. A decent squad being assembled at Peterhead who also have Cammy Smith and Peter Pawlett on their books.

Kieran Shanks is the Head's top scorer with five League goals. Max Barry and Jason Brown have three.

Ideal opportunity to bounce back from a couple of poor results. As it stands I'd take a point but I'm confident we can get all three. Mon the Caley Jags.
