      Teaser Paragraph:

Craig Brewster held one of his regular press briefings at the Stadium this week and commented on the Rangers game, the 'controversy' surrounding Bajram Fetai's appearance at Ibrox, league position and player contracts.

Commenting on the Rangers game, Craig said ‘It was excellent to get the late goal on Saturday, not many teams go to Ibrox and do that." He added, "Our confidence is high and preparing well for each game is all we can do. I do believe that fitness is everything, if you are fitter you can run the extra yard to two for the full ninety minutes and I do believe you can see a real difference in the fitness levels of the team. Big Eck was down at the end of the game but he knew what was at stake, he definitely sees it as losing two points."

Some newspapers and reports on the match have commented on the selection of Bajram Fetai and theorised that there was a clause in his loan contract that meant he couldnt play at Ibrox. For Brewster, the answer to this was simple ... "I played Bajram Fetai because he was the only guy to put in to cover Barry, ICT are paying his wages and there was no agreement not to play him."

As has been noted by a number of site users, Steven Hislop is well on the road to recovery from his horrendous injury and may yet make a first team appearance this season. He was due to play for the under 21s against Rangers but the game was called off. Instead, a 'bounce game was organised at Murray Park. Craig had this to say about the day ... "Steven Hislop was due to play his first game back today with the Under 21's but the game was called off due to a frozen pitch in Dumbarton. We tried to get the game re-scheduled to Murray Park as the boys were going there for a bounce game anyway but we could not get permission from the SPL. It is a nonsense as we now have to incur the cost of travelling south again when the game is re-scheduled."

We play Hearts this weekend and although Craig is delighted that his predecessor recommended him for the job, he doesnt intend to hand him any points as a present ! "The game coming up against Hearts is a big one, they are very strong at home and we will have to be at our very best to beat them. I didn't really know John Robertson but was delighted when I got the call from Inverness regarding the job he had left vacant. I was a bit surprised that he had recommended me for the job and I think Donald Park may have had a part to play in that."

Craig is also not swayed by any mind games that other managers are playing .... "I hear that Ian McCall keeps saying that we are safe in the SPL but until we are mathematically safe I will not take anything for granted. We would like to catch Kilmarnock and they would like to catch Motherwell but two wins from the bottom teams and we are right back in it."

Finally, he also commented on the contract situation at the club. "The contract negotiations are ongoing with a number of players and we are not going to announce anything until the various deals have been confirmed."
