Andrew Shinnie and Josh Meekings pledge their futures to Caley Jags.
Caley Thistle have agreed two year deals with Andrew Shinnie, 21 year old midfielder released by Rangers, and Josh Meekings, 18 year old centre half released by Ipswich Town.
Manager Terry Butcher said:"Both have been training with us and have made an excellent impression in our pre-season friendlies. I've made offers and both have accepted and the paperwork should be completed in the next few days."
Andrew is the brother of Caley Jags defender Graeme Shinnie who had a superb start to last season before being afflicted by illness. He signed a new contract during the campaign and is now back to full fitness.
Andrew made his SPL debut for Rangers in March 2007 against Aberdeen -- scoring two goals for the Ibrox Under-19s the same day. He helped Rangers beat Celtic 5-0 in the Scottish Youth Cup final that year, scoring the first goal and then accepting a new three year contract. Injury held back his Rangers career and he had two loan spells with Dundee. He won a Scotland Under-21s cap against Albania in March 2009 and won three caps.
Josh Meekings was born in Bury St Edmonds and is a 6 foot tall centre back who was with Ipswich. He was also a fine cricketer with Haverhill CC.
Both looked the part in the opening friendly with Clach at Grant Street Park and their arrivals strengthen the squad as Terry Butcher and Maurice Malpas continue their recruitment and preparation work in time for the opening SPL game at Motherwell on July 23.
