That’s a helluva strong statement from the club, clearly very peed off about misrepresentation of the facts and by the willingness of fans and other media to latch on to it and assume it to be all true just because a bitter ex-player tweeted it.

An unsightly war of words that doesn’t look good on anyone involved, but perhaps the only way the club could have prevented it would have been to keep paying Shane to sit in the treatment room for another year?

Fans might be a bit more sympathetic to the club if it had done anything but erode trust between the two groups over the last few years.

Not a good sign. Where have you seen this if you don’t mind me asking.

Good on Shane for outing the club like this though, even if it has made me feel second hand embarrassment.

Scott Burns in the record. However, to correct what I've said it's reduced terms his been offered. So wages could be fine but contract length might be an issue.

Cheers, thought this was just your wish list at first 😎
Dumbarton and Bonnyrigg away please, so I can walk to one of them.

@RiG usually knows how this works... is it Dundee and Bonnyrigg at home?

To be honest I don't know but there did seem to be a pattern where the second seed played the first seed away in the last match of the round of fixtures but that didn't happen last season IIRC although we did play Livi away it wasn't the last match of the group.

I wouldn't be surprised to see Dundee being one of the away games and knowing our luck it will probably be Airdrie away as well...

  4. Paton at QotS has been banging the goals in but there may be a stumbling block over a development fee given we are unlikely to be shelling out any cash for players. Also rumoured to be heading to Livi or England so we won't be able to complete there if those rumours are true.

I know it won't please everybody but we've got to be realistic. Dodds is happy to stay and he's no really that bad. Better the devil you know!

Getting somebody new in is risky and probably costly. As mentioned before, Dodds knows the squad, knows what's needed to improve it and I think is a safe bet.

There seems to be an expectancy among some supporters that we should be a Premiership team because we once were. We are in fact a Championship team - that is our level - and the occasional foray into the Premiership is not out of the question, although to stay in the top league we would really need a generous benefactor.

Get behind Dodds and who knows what'll happen!

First point - does he though? We've gone through two or three seasons now with no "proper" right back. Carson has filled in admirably but many would argue that we still lack a dedicated RB. Equally, our lack of striking options for a good chunk of this season arguably falls at Dodds' door as well. Offloading Oakley and not bringing someone in to help Mckay was a bizarre move. It left us very light at a crucial time in the season.

Second point - we've spent just as long in the top tier as we have done in the second. The SPL/Premiership has, until recently, been our level. If teams like Livingston and Saint Johnstone can remain in the top flight there is nothing to suggest that we couldn't do that and we should be aspiring to that level. Of course, there are plenty of other teams who will think like that but I completely disagree with the notion that the Championship is our level. It might be for a while but historically it has not been.

I do agree however that to stay in the top flight we would really need a generous backer. It's becoming clear that trying to maintain full time football in Scotland outwith the top flight is becoming notoriously difficult. The losses sustained by Falkirk and others show that. Even MacGregor at Ross County seems to be talking about winding in the spending but I suspect they will keep writing blank cheques to offset their losses. And yes I am aware that we also have been bleeding cash

  6. There's a few online sites saying Shaw is contracted until 2024. Can't see anything from the in confirming the length of the deal when his signing was announced. I thought he was on a 2 year deal as well but looks like that could be wrong.

    Probably should have been

Why? They didn't look nervous until the final 10 / 15 minutes when County seemed to realise they were in deep trouble.

    Some bottle job in fairness.

Deasy’s away so Allardice is the big one now, and there’s Billy…

Allardice will be away as well. Obviously the likes of Henderson and MacKay will return to their parent clubs as well. Think we could see a few players move on this summer.

  9. There was a recent Twitter storm about boo boys which I'm sure plenty of you are aware of. These tongue in cheek stickers are the result of that. The Buzz Lightyear should give folk a clue as well.

  10. The latest episode of The Wyness Shuffle has a load of chat, interviews and other stuff as the guys look ahead to the game on Saturday.

How do you like the sound of:

    • Looking back at previous wins over Celtic with interviews with Stuart Golabek, Dennis Wyness, Ross Tokely and James Vincent?
    • Captain Sean Welsh updating us on how preparations for the big day are coming along?
    • A chat with Natasha Meikle from the Celtic State of Mind podcast?
    • All you need to know about the Highland Fling on the Ferry?
    • The reveal of another Cup Final song?

Did we not only take 1 point from 6 in our last 2 critical games.

Yes. I'd say Queens Parks collapse and end of season form is, obviously, much worse as we weren't seven points clear at the top of the table with only a handful of games left.
