Contracts normally expire at the end of a season so JR's I'd imagine would have already finished and we've extended it. However perhaps not. You'd think the club would announce the contract extension of a senior member of staff and a normal club probably would, however this is ICT so who knows (apart from SG and JR)?

We still don't jave any official word that Tom Walsh has left the club

Are you Mr Outsider because he posted that Dudds is out and Callum Davidson will be appointed 🤔.

I'm not sure how I'd feel about him because he's had success at St Johnstone winning 2 cups but his record last season was abysmal and he rightly got sacked.  Tbh we probably couldn't get any better than his calibre now that Tommy Wright isn't available so I'd probably be happy with this appointment though we'll have to see what happens on Saturday then take it from there.

That Twitter account is a piss take of another "ITK" account called Mr Insider who posted a load of ICT related stuff, most of which was mainly nonsense, before (s)he shut the account down due to folk laughing at his awful rumours. I'd take anything Mr Outsider says with a lethal dose of salt.

  3. Anderson is a tidy wee player with a bit of a combative streak. Just what we need from the sounds of things.

We still need improvements at the back however and perhaps another wide man as well. However, it feels like we've left things too late and we may need to muddle through with what we have.

The one thing that is a bit disappointing is that the club never bothered to contact me or any of the others I know that did not renew.  Its like they just don't care.   In previous years, season ticket holders who did not renew would always at least be contacted to find out why.  I even remember one year players were drafted in to call people before the season started.

Had similar thoughts as well. I haven't renewed this year for the first time in at least 20 years (probably longer) and got nothing from the club. The year Rangers were going to be punted after being liquidated someone from the club phoned to see why I hadn't renewed but nothing this year. In fairness, a call wouldn't have changed my mind. I'm not renewing due to a new addition to the family but it did leave me feeling a little undervalued as a loyal fan for many years.

As someone new to attending away games, I was pleasantly surprised by the number of ICT fans at the match last night.  Imagine it can vary widely but what is the typical travelling support to league matches? I imagine games in and around Glasgow area attract some 'away' fans now living there which can boost numbers.

Obviously depends on the ground, form, transport links etc. but normally there will be anywhere between around 100 fans up to a couple / few hundred. A lot of ICT fans will end up in the central belt after leaving the Highlands for jobs or tertiary education so for a game against the likes of Partick Thistle we might take a pretty good crowd along. I think there's definitely been an increase in our away support over the last few seasons. More of the Young Team head to away games now I think (possibly for the reasons above) which is good to see.

    Their in League 2 ffs

22 months and counting unless there really is a God

They have also won something like 6 games since January. Make no bones about it, League Cup Group Stage / friendly (call it what you will), last nights result was exceptionally poor.

  7. As @Satan says maybe it'll look different in the flesh but for, based on the photos, it's an absolutely atrocious kit. I'll give the club the benefit of the doubt and say that releasing it yesterday was merely a coincidence but I have my doubts.

Was it ever even on?!  No idea. Might he have been plan B if Billy didn’t sign, or could we really have afforded 2 very expensive strikers?

From what I've been told it was on and it wasn't contingent on anything happening with Mckay.

Paul Ritchie and Edward Ofere came to mind.

So one guy (Ofere) from the last decade based on a very small sample size of around 10 games? Not exactly much to write home about. Certainly doesn't give me any confidence that we can pick up a goal scorer late in the day especially with the paltry wages we are likely offering these days.

It would be quite a disruptive move for Billy unless Ayr offer him a superb package. One thing to bear in mind is that he is approaching 35 so after two years would be approaching 37.  We cannot forever rely on him scoring.  At present we are short on goalscorers but we do not know what business is being done behind the scenes. Historically we have picked up some good goalscorers late in the day.

Like who exactly? Billy Mckay is our most prolific goal scorer in recent memory and no one has scored more than he did last season than since, erm, Bill Mckay in 2013/14. Jordan White was close in 2017/18 (IIRC) but apart from that we have lacked an out and out goalscorer for the best part of a decade.

Apologies if I have missed something, but I haven't seen anything about Tom Walsh?

He's not been mentioned at all recently either in terms of players who have been released or players who were offered new deals. Apparently an Ayr fan has said he was serving ice creams at a local fun day down that neck of the woods. Probably a good indicator of where he's at right now.

  12. These guys haven't left Partick Thistle to hang around in the Championship for another season (unless it's to sign for a big player which we certainly aren't).

Turner is more of an 8 than Allardice anyway. Docherty would have been a good replacement but he also left Thistle and has signed for United.

I think it is total mismanagement of our club to let our best players leave, season after season, for nothing. If a player is on a two or three year contract, and you want him to stay, you offer him a new contract before he goes into his final year, and if he doesn't want to sign a new contract then, you put him up for sale, that way we get some financial compensation for him, and have some sought after money the club can I'll afford not to have.

As someone said on hear, we used to be a selling club, but now we are the giving away for free club.

I do agree with a lot of this but sometimes you have players who are more valuable to the team than any final transfer fee we might get for them. Could we realistically have afforded to lose Allardice last season for the sake of a few thousand pounds?

For all the criticism he got from others (including myself) I fully agreed with Yogi's ambitions of trying to at least make sure the club got money when they lost players like Shinnie, Watkins etc. easier said than done of course though.

Jay Henderson’s contract at St Mirren has expired. Here’s hoping they don’t want him and we can get him snapped up.

We're not going to be able to afford the development fee they'll be due for him.
