Not sunk in with this lot either.... http://www.scotprem.com/content/default.asp?page=home_SPL%20teams http://www.scotprem.com/content/default.asp?page=home_Fixtures I see they did win their first pre-season friendly in a closed game 2-1 v Airdrie United. Now was that the newco playing or the oldco? I know this is a rhetorical question but if they are deemed to be oldco should they not still be in the SPL starting the season with a deduction in points. But if they are newco then they should rightly be starting their new adventure in the 3rd Division. I can't see how they can be one one minute and the other the next as all the recent decisions were all made based on they were a newco. I don't truly understand the whole process but is this type of newco/oldco scenario and being 'a bit of both' common in other areas of commerce when such an event occurs?

Good survey - completed - it will be a long journey to redeem Scottish Football and make the football experience a more enjoyable one but one well worth travelling....

I can't get my head around this whole thing....irrespective of my thoughts on Rangers as a club where were these people when it really matterred. Green may not be the best but he at least did something that others had no real intentions of doing. It may all go sour but I just cannot see what JB and his gang's game plan is.... Not a bad player but no I would not buy a used car off him

CD I understand what you are saying but all this interaction previously about brand ICT and this is the result. If the club were serious about that then they would not be changing it again. Yes I like some others would prefer to see blue and red stripes as part of that identity but that does not appear to be the case. If our strip is going to be predominately blue (top, shorts, socks) going forward then fine but can the club just decide on it so that we can create a recognisable identity that is part of this so called ICT brand. I am sure St.Mirren, Kilmarnock and Celtic (Palace and Barca even) fans would have a similar response if their first team kit was changed to a similar design. I am with KB on this and I just think it was another lost opportunity by our club. God I would love to be at just one of these boardroom meetings to see what is on the agenda and how these issues are discussed. One thing is for sure at present 'one step forward two steps back' is just about right to describe those providing direction for our club. PS - I suppose nobody out there has access to any MoM - I need to be cheered up

Still with Denizilspor in Turkey I believe

Elgin City 1-0 up at HT ;-)

In reality more likely: 1 - Celtic 2 - Dundee Utd 3 - Motherwell 4 - Aberdeen 5 - St Johnstone 6 - Hearts 7 - St Mirren 8 - Kilmarnock 9 - Hibernian 10 - ICT 11 - Ross County 12 - Dundee At the moment I could see the bottom four in any order but Dundee have the shortest time to get new faces in and Hibs don't appear to have strengthened much yet. With all the repercussions of the newco fall out it could quite an interesting and maybe refreshing season.
-
If Carlsberg did SPL tables: 1 - ICT 2 - Ross County 3 - St Johnstone 4 - Dundee United 5 - Hibernian 6 - Dundee 7 - Motherwell 8 - Hearts 9 - Kilmarnock 10 - Aberdeen 11 - St Mirren 12 - Celtic

Hopefully be there - only need another 7,498. ;-)

I can understand both sides of this arguement. Season tickets by the fact that they are paid for before the start of the season gives a club a healthy advance on their future gate receipts and allows them to bank that money and assist with the day to day running of the club at times when the other revenue streams are limited. That said when the season starts and if the attendances are as per last season and the only difference is a greater number have decided to choose their games instead of purchasing a season ticket then more money will actually be taken at the turnstiles on a matchday or in advance ticket sales. Interestingly enough the home friendly v Coventry City and then the first home league game v Kilmarnock will give us pointers to firstly what the general mood is towards ICT this season and secondly whether there is any sign of an attendance surge post-newco fiasco. Having said all that if we come out of the blocks playing attractive free-flowing high scoring football then the attendances will go up irrespective of whatever external factors are in play. Anyhow not really that long to wait now until it is clear which way it will go....
-
It does look like that might in fact be it. As the article states that if a deal can be agreed with Simon King then that will be the last new face in before the season starts.... Warren is still out but Tudor-Jones may make an appearance in one of the next two games....if there is any doubt over his fitness I don't think he should be risked as we do not want a repeat of last season so early http://www.inverness...h-ICT-squad.htm As that other Scotsman once said 'You don't win anything with kids' - well let's just see what happens....and I for one hope he's proved wrong again

So back to the original query what is our average season ticket sales and what % of a drop is 300 season tickets (10%, 20%....)? I saw an aricle from 2005-6 when we moved home from Pittodrie and in that we had surpassed the 1500 mark but I suspect the actual average sales might be 2000+ in which case it is a drop of about 15%. Is there any data available on our average sales and those of the other SPL clubs year on year?

Link to the article from today's courier referenced in gordieict's post above states potential shortfall of 400K for drop in gate receipts and TV money and as he said a drop in sales from 300 season tickets.... http://www.inverness-courier.co.uk/News/ICT-could-lose-400000-17072012.htm

Article on TB when at Coventry City....must admit I didn't know about the board's attempt to renegotiate his contract when he stopped playing.... http://www.coventry.vitalfootball.co.uk/article.asp?a=286790 Butcher's time at Highfield Road began, a scarcely believable, 22 years ago when he was lured south from Glasgow Rangers to become the Sky Blues new player-manager after the sacking of John Sillett. A key part of the England squad that had reached the semi-finals of the World Cup just months before, Butcher was a big name in the game when he arrived at the club and his appointment was designed to take City to the next level after the fizz of the FA Cup triumph had gone rather flat in the league(in relative terms to today of course with City regular finishers in the top-half at that time). Thrown in at the deep end with a first game against Liverpool, Butcher steadily got to grips with his squad and steered them away from relegation waters with some canny signings such as Stewart Robson and Kenny Sansom. Into 1991/92 and what was set to be Butcher's first full season in charge started solidly enough with his decision to throw a talented Zimbabwean teenager called Peter Ndlovu into the fray being rewarded with a stunning winning goal against Aston Villa. That was probably the high point of Butcher's short reign as it became clear he could not carry on as a player and the club tried to renegotiate his contract. A poor run of form around the turn of the year led to his departure and the appointment of assistant manager Don Howe, whose side achieved safety thanks mainly to a series of mind-numbing goalless draws.

It's still not sunk in yet....on the plus side the SFL web-site should get an increase in hits now and possibly charge more for their sponsorship links....at least Irn Bru will be happy.... http://www.scottishf...football/third/
