  1. Gee Whizz!!  I find myself agreeing with what Clacher said to Chib... :010: :010: :001:

    all except Ian MacColl.... :007:

I certainly used to think he'd be good for us up until he went to the Arabs - now I'm not so sure....  though he probably wasn't given much of a chance there TBH.

  2. I doubt CC or any other member of the playing staff visit this web-site, however, bad vibes to have a habit of escaping from within...

i think they do Gringo - Charlie has certainly made reference to stuff posted on the boards before and my guess is that many from the management side, playing side and admin side regularly keep an eye on what's being posted on here...

In fact I'd be more than surprised if they didn't.....

  3. Lol!

I'll support any football fan if i think they are being hard done by and criticise when i think it's due too!

As i've posted before when talking about banning orders we are getting far too hung up about stuff at games and taking our eye off the important things...

  4. so half a dozen supposed 'hard men' from Castlemilk are indicitive of how all rangers fans behaved on the night?  Stories tend to grow arms and legs Clacher.  I'm in no way saying that all the supporters were innocent and there is totally unacceptable behaviour in an element of the support of ALL teams.

However, what cannot be condoned is the violence that was witnessed the other night.

Is it acceptable that a man is being continually beaten even when paramedics are pleading with the police to stop so they can treat him?

but the police in spain arent used to having to deal with violent supporters and rangers fans are used to getting away with whatever they like in scotland

this could be taken as you saying that rangers supporters are violent.  there is a small minority in every support that are...  but the majority of football supporters are not.  And I'm sure that Spanish police are well used to dealing with situations like this - the problem is that their response is always the same....

  5. If they are creating some kind of problem or safety issue inside the ground then the police will need to get involved. The Rangers fans then get more aggressive at the police getting involved, incident escalates until batons are drawn.

Seem fair enough? ( Hypothetical scenario by the way).

fair enough if that was the case it just so far the eyewitness accounts seem to suggest it was unprovoked, however if that was the scenario than i suppose the bobbies were just doing their job

Certainly the accounts I've heard and read from folk who were there seem to indicate that it was an unprovoked attack.  there were folk being beaten for trying to help others who were injured and this was even before the game started when fans had been dropped off in a secure area before being escorted to the ground.  Elderly men and women, young girls were amongst those targeted.

According to police and stewards at a DU game not so long ago a certain Mr Macgregor was ejected from Tanny for standing which they say as being a safety issue...  Can you imagine if the police here behaved in a similar way?

we must also remember that this kind of thing doesn't just happen to Rangers supporters travelling abroad but to supporters of other teams too.

One of the most disturbing things i read regarding the whole incident was Jim Traynor writing that they 'probably deserved a good hiding'.  No one deserves the treatment I heard about from folk who were there.  What i have heard and seen regarding it was quite horrific and it is amazing that no one died.  I hope that one day we will be able to experience the excitement of a european trip but hope that we would never have to suffer what the Rangers fans had to on thursday.

  6. but what the **** do you expect to be done about it harry?

Banning order for each of them, season tickets taken off them... maybe a fine of some sort!

Do you not think they should be punished?

the horse is very high today Harry.... :001:

same could be said about your avatar or about the things our fans were shouting at Tony Bullock every time we play against him...

    Canny wait!!

  8. probably for lots of reasons.  folk don't cook anymore and some don't even know how to.  fast food is - relatively - cheap.  i'm also not convinced that there isn't an addictive quality to some of it.  it's well known that some of the foods we eat know are very high in fats, salts, sugars - especially processed foods.

kids in many inner city areas (and outer too) don't know what fruit or veg are.

we don't sit down at the table to eat anymore but sit in front of the telly.

as long as it's quick and the telly says it's good it must be..

also we eat far more carbs now than we used to

also for folk who are 'emotionally inept' food can be a way of expressing love for someone...
