  1. We were playing well and looked comfortable until Hayes went off the park and we lost our swagger. Would like to see the pen again, although Dargo goes down easily there is definitely a leg thrown out by Proctor so I think the ref had no choice. Proctor was a disaster at left back and his poor positioning left Thompson (?) the space for his goal, some finish though. After that, Butcher made his best decision of the day by swapping Duff & Proctor, Proctor went on to redeem himself and Duff also had a good game on the left. It was a bad day for defences because our 2nd was just badly defended as our first, good pressure by Rooney, Foran then eventually Doran and the ball was squeezed home. Rooney was superb yesterday and his finish for our 3rd was class personified, Foran won his first header of the day and played a terrific ball through, at full stride Rooney cuts the ball across the keeper to the opposite post... magic. Unfortunately though, we looked ropey all day on set pieces and they took advantage from a corner. It was like watching a basketball match at times but a draw was probably a fair result although we could have easily of lost if it wasn't for a wonder save from Esson

Great game but we really need to dig out a win from somewhere soon, just poor timing with all our injuries and suspensions.

  2. Women have to spoil everything.

Massive fan of Andy Gray... he's a muppet but he has an genuine love for the game and probably one of the least offensive commentators on the tv. For me EPL football & Andy Gray goes hand in hand... he's probably has made Sky a fortune over the years with the amount of men (my sexist remark) who have paid the extortionate subscription charges to enjoy the football bonanza every weekend.

They only recently found out about a comment made in December :ponder: my erse!!! They must have been sitting on that so there was no chance of them having to fork out a termination payment for the lucrative contract he was on.

Karen Brady can suck my ****

  3. From the sounds of it Hibs are after a marquee signing and Rooney will be their man. Hopefully our board are playing hard ball, using Conor Sammon's recent offer from Scunthorpe as a bench mark and we get plenty cash for the guy.

Rooney has been excellent, he has that knack of scoring goals (until recently) but he is not irreplaceable. Thankfully, we are about 3 points off safety, which means Sutherland can get his chance without any major pressure on his shoulders. If he doesn't manage to get the goals to suggest he can secure a first team place we can look at targets in the summer, or even sign someone else on a pre-contract.

If we can get anything near the amount Scunthorpe offered for Sammon then we should accept the offer and move on, as we always do.

  4. I'm sure I've seen this boy play before in a pre-season match for Blackburn and thought he looked rapid.. was being hyped up as a hot prospect for the future at the time I'm sure but must not have worked out him. Saying that, Blackburn are a very direct team, who prefer their players to be 6ft+

Anyone else think he looks like Lionel Messi??? :ponder:

  5. Rather sad thread isnt it - and here am poor me with the worst reputation and disciplinary record around. Drunk and Incapable and Drunk and Disorderly(ish), standing up and singing incessantly (including swearing, taunting away supporters - especially when there is a hint of sectarianism), friendly albeit offensive banter withn away supporters are all acceptable terrace behaviours IMHO but - bullying fellow fans (usually younger fans); picking fights within your own group, doing it in the safety of a group behind you; slagging off players or the club are unacceptable ICT behaviours.

And sorry but carrying it on here - there is a PM system - and calling for a club employee to be informed to sort it out - that is Kindergarten.

Judging stories when you didn't see an incident?

This guy was not any younger and there was certainly no bullying. A disagreement between 2 people that got out of hand.. I only got involved to stop it escalating to something else.

This has grown legs when it was dealt with at stadium and should have been left there.

  6. It's obviously bad news for him to be injured but after getting points from 2x Rangers, Celtic & Hearts.. it's well timed.

Butcher has an excuse to give the likes of Blumenstien & Sanchez their oppertunity so we'll get to see if they've got what it takes at this level.

  7. Well it looks as if i have opened a right can of worms witht this one. First of all HC it was not the lads infront that started the exchange of words on saturday, it was your mate the so called "ginger destroyer". Never in my life at a football match have i disliked the person a few seats down from me more. His choice of words were unacceptable and completely distastful and he should have been ejected from the ground IMHO.

Your first post and this, for the most of it, are inaccurate. He is mouthy, always has been, but didn't kick off until he was getting pulled up for a throw away remark about a miss placed pass.

As for your remark about the hearts fan with the flag, did it ever cross your mind that he might be northern irish and proud to be? Would i get the same abuse throw my why if i had a welsh flag at a match?

No a welsh flag is fine. To be honest I wasn't bothered with the flag but I can understand why others would be.

Next time you and your mates go to an inverness game try and support your team. Get behind them and cheer them on, not moan at them and critises.

Again, you are trying to use a one off incident regarding 2 people to reflect another 9 fans who were sitting enjoying the match and encouraging the team.

  8. I don't support my team by slagging them off

I'll say again, 1 guy reacted badly after someone he didn't know decided to make something out of a nothing remark. Some of what was said after was well over the top and he was told that by the rest of us. The only reason I got involved was to prevent the situation getting any worse.

There were 10 of us at the game on Saturday, all ICT supporters and have been since the telford street days. There was nothing but encouragement (and nail biting) from everyone else.

There was just the one lad who had clearly been a tad heavy on the heavy or whatever his tipple was and he let himself, his mates and his team down. I commented on another thread about how good it was to see folk who are new to ICT taking their youngsters to the game and it is precisely this sort of behaviour that will stop people like that coming back.

I understand top six's point that there are more uplifting things to talk about but there are plenty other threads on that. Ironically, it is his very point that makes this thread so valid. On a day when the team completed the quite stunning acheivement of going through 2010 unbeaten away from home in the league, we have someone in our midst who decides to spend his time shouting foul mouthed abuse at Hearts fans and slagging off our highly respected captain, but who doesn't join in the fantastic, almost constant supportive and good humoured chanting that others close by were. I think that is worthy of a thread. If you can't give support to your team on such a historic day then when can you!

Those sitting a little further away would have been excused for thinking it was Neil Lennon sitting there on his day off

10 of us on a stag day... it got messy (ask san miguel & the knowledge).

Abuse at Hearts fans?? they had a red hand of ulster flag on show and deserved all the "abuse" they received.

As for our right to be at the game, or, "these are the supporters we don't need" comments from you and your boy. I'm glad you are taking into context the time's we have followed the team around the country, the season tickets held in our group, when we turned out when it wasn't fashionable to follow ICT in the lower divisions.

I'm all for us encouraging kids going to the game but I fail to see why you think you have any right to decide we aren't the type of the fans the club needs. Especially since it seems you don't have all the facts of the situation and decided to draw your own conclusion from afar.

You've used your 1 game a season quota up early this year son.

    and you are?

3rd game of the season and proud of it. I go to the games I can make it to, unfortunately not as many as I'd like. Probably why you haven't seen me posting on here too often recently, does that make me less of a supporter?

  9. I'd love to know why you weren't this chatty at the game and instead decided to post on the internet 2 days letter when everyone else has forgotten you and your mate existed.

Because I was there to watch a game of football, and support my team... not to get into an argument with a group of idiots who had nothing positive to say about anything. It would have achieved nothing. Thats why I chose to ignore you all.

And I would also like to point out I don't even know the opening poster... so quite funny how someone else noticed your and your mates disgraceful behaviour.

as were we until your mate piped up. If he keeps his mouth shut and minds his own business then we all go on with our day.

"idiots" again? now who's being offensive?? Apart from "the ginger destroyer" making his point there wasn't anything but support given for the team and you're a liar if you say anything different.

  10. First off "the ginger destroyer" is my mate, those who know him will see him in the Innes before every home game. I am the "idiot" who told your mate to "just sit the **** down" because, without sounding childish, if he kept his mouth shut in the first place the flippant remark would have just been that.

Instead he decided to mutter some rant which achieved the argument he was looking for. He then gets "his friends" to post their discontent on a forum about a nothing incident that he started. Yeh "the ginger destroyer" went over the top to make his point about having his own opinion but he didn't take kindly to someone picking out a comment about a bad pass. ffs "donut" is hardly the strongest language you will hear at in a football stand.

"They weren't supporting the team on Saturday, just shouting ridiculous comments aimed at our own players"

I'll let the idiot remark slip but talking absolute p!sh just to try and make you look like a good guy shows exactly what you are all about. The rest of us were telling our boy to pipe down just as I told your mate... there was no need for it to have happened in the first place. I'd love to know why you weren't this chatty at the game and instead decided to post on the internet 2 days letter when everyone else has forgotten you and your mate existed.

  12. To olivers "om pa pa"

Om pa pa om pa pa its Grant Munro

Om pa pa Om pa pa Everyone knows

he will grab on your baws and step on your toes

WHEN HE HEARS OM PA PA

    Repeat

    :laugh::laugh:

That's horrendous.... poor Grant Munro, he'll go through his professional football career not knowing what it's like to have his own fans chant his name.

  13. Read it on teletext, Odi's agent says that clubs in the Championship and League one are monitoring him and that he is keeping his options open but is happy here, he's had a decent season so far but i wouldn't be terribly concerned if he did leave. Be more worried if it were one of our Irish trio.

 i didn't even know that was still on the go.

  14. With the possible exception of Esson, who is the on-form keeper in the SPL right now and thoroughly deserving of at least a call-up, who else in our squad would you think was worthy of a call-up to the national squad ?

Rooney, Hayes, Foran - all Irish.

    Odhiambo - English / Tanzanian

    Cox, Johnson (GK) - English.

    Tuffey - N.Irish

    Sanchez - Spanish

    Blumenshtein** - Israeli

    Gillet** - French

Munro (30), Tokely (31), Duncan** (30), McBain (36), Golabek (36), Innes** (34) - all probably too old in the eyes of Levein who is bringing in younger players.

Shinnie, Ross, Morrison, Sutherland** - too young for full squad, Ross is in the U21 sqaud ....

    Proctor** - injured

Which leaves ..... McCann & Duff, - are they worthy ?

    PS ** against name = injured !!!

    Absolutely spot on Scotty.

Apart from Esson who has been excellent it's very hard to argue the case for any of our other players.. especially when you see the likes of Murphy & Reynolds from Motherwell being over looked after 2 successful seasons in the SPL.

Last night was the oppertunity to give some youth/fringe players a chance and to be fair I thought there was some excellent performances. The midfield excelled, with Bannan & Adams stealing the show, Wilson at the back was solid and could be a future star.... it may have been only the Faroe Islands but we showed against Leichtenstein even small nations can be well organised.

What interested me today was reading how Bannan was dropped from Celtic as a lad because he was too small, try telling that to Messi, Iniesta and Xavi. I have a work mate who's son is currently at Celtic and has the same problem, his is likely to be dropped, not because of his talent or ability but because of his height... seems ridiculous. I was glad to show the alternative when you consider Morrison, Shinnie & Ross who have obviously been judged on their talent and nothing else and are now ripping up the SPL... hopefully will soon be in consideration for the full squad and not just the U21s.

  15. True, it shows that County's squad are not all that great, great cup run to get to the final but they played well above their station to get there, cant think of any that would enhance our squad.

Where's that to55er smilie gone by the way??

    This one ? :******:

name calling on a internet forum.... surely not?

  16. Whats the point? none of these players are better than we have imo, Gardyne better Jonny? Brittain better than Russell? Vigurs any better than Eric??? leave it out mate. :yellowcard:

As far as I know (which is very little) in all of the comparisons you've mentioned the alternative player plays in a different position.

It was never meant as a direct player for player comparison, more as a skill/skill issue, and we have Nick Ross (now under21 choice) Morrison and Sanchez waiting for games so we really have midfield cover without taking gypo's on.

But thanks for your pedantic reply...

    You're welcome

If you said is Gardyne better than Odi?? Vigurs better than Russell?? or Brittain better than Hayes?? your point would be made but instead you have made yourself look like a fool.

    Pedantic again....<img src='http://community.caleythistleonline.com/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/******.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':******:' />

    but correct
