  1. that's why i posted, to say that the rumour you heard was way off. :drinking09:
  2. How did you manage that? what do you mean? He wants to know how you got to play against him i played against him when i played in the sfl. played against him a good few times, not that great, 2nd division player i would say.
  3. It's a nice thought but he doesn't owe us anything really. We are only offering him a 1 year deal. Dundee can offer him more money (Hart and Higgins are rumoured to be on ?1,600 a week) and a longer deal. They also look set to sign one of Particks best players in Hawkins and are tabling bids for Griffiths of Livi. They will be the team to beat next season and I don't see anyone being able to do it. This new chairman of theirs is providing some serious financial backing for Jocky Scott. the 1600 a week is far off what they are getting, even if they get promotion next year they will still be about 600 of that. i heard what they were on from a very reliable source.
  4. well he got money for dougie, money not well spent but yeah got a little i guess. There wasnt really any player standing out at that time was there? Well not what i can remember off anyway to be honest i can't really remember who was available at the time, probably not a lot though.

  7. agree. his form is spread evenly between W/L/D .... extrapulated to a full season that amounts to 13/12/13 and could work out at between 49 and 52 pts depending on where you put the "12". Based on this season that is a 5th or 6th place finish ! the same could have been said for brewster after his first 15 games when he took over from charlie christie who had no wins after 4/5 games. brewster's first 15 games seen him secure 25points, 5 points more than butcher's first 15 games and we didnt finish in the top 6. so i know where your coming from but as you can see it doesn't really work like that.
  8. Don't worry mike wikipedia gets us all mate, fair play though not many people on here admit when they are wrongly informed. i know we have a difference of opinion but all good banter at the end of the day. i did miss the post that apologised for the finger, i've seen it now, easy mistake to make. cheers.
  9. people keep going on about brew and what would have happened if he was still in charge, but we weren't under brew for the last 15 games we were under butcher, stop comparing the two, they were both awful. are you still going to be bringing brew up in 5 seasons to cover the incompetence of our present manager if results aren't going our way. butcher is culpabe and is in charge now, so he is the one who is to be judged, brew is the past so forget about him and stop comparing butcher to him so he looks good because that is the only way to make butcher look slightly good. people are talking about butcher like he is a hero, he has done nothing to justify that, i understand where you are coming from about what i said about barrowman but i just think he needs confidence, as for butcher has no lack of confidence, no excuses for butcher he is meant to be a manager. i just look at the stats and facts and that's what i base my opinion on, the 15 games butcher was in charge he didn't show enough to get the hype that he has received by wishful thinking fans getting ahead of themselves, i prefer to go by facts rather than wishful predictions of how much better he will do next season, there is no proof to suggest he will.
  10. The end of next season.... Do you think it will take as long as that? Probably not in my opinion. What some people on here see in butcher i don't know, there is no proof that butcher knows what he's doing now or in the past, one fluke season with motherwell and a whole load of mess to fill up the rest of his eventful career as a manager. I know someone who played under Butcher at motherwell that season and he even said he was a terrible manager. Here's my proof backing up my opinion for all those Butcher lovers out there. Butcher's career as a manager: Coventry - BUTCHER SACKED Sunderland - BUTCHER SACKED Motherwell - Left on a high, probably before he fecked it up. Sydney FC - BUTCHER SACKED Brentford - BUTCHER TOLD TO FECK OFF BY FANS...SACKED Inverness - Relegated Anyway we'll see this season. Any chance Butcher securing some signatures anytime soon, get the fecking finger out. Why are you so anti Butcher and not willing to give him a chance in the 1st division. He almost saved us from relegation, and probably would have if he had come in a month earlier. I don't understand why you are willing to give Barrowman a chance, quote from you on Barrowman thread "I have slated Barrowman in the past but i feel we must give him a chance, completely agree with a player performing better with confidence, lets give him a chance to prove himself at a lower level and see what he can do" Why do you not want Butcher to be given the same chance?? A bit hypocritical perhaps> Perhaps it is, but we were safe, then butcher started fecking around with formation and team selection, in my eyes that is unforgivable. just look at his stats, they aren't exactly brilliant, in actual fact they are horrible, you can't ignore those stats just because he was a good player in his day. I just have no faith in Butcher as a manager, until he proves otherwise i won't change my opinion, he hasn't even signed a damn player yet.
  11. Dont be stupid. Butcher was the Manager when we got sacked, he wasnt the fault of Inverness Caley Thistle getting Relegated. Infact it was more of the Boards fault for letting Brewster be in charge of the Club until January. If he was sacked after the Aberdeen Game (20th December 2008) then we would have safely been in the SPL just now rather than playing along side Ross County. Not saying it was entirely Butcher's fault we got relegated but he played his part, after all he was the manager for 15 games, that hardly makes him inculpable. How can you say we would of stayed up if Brew had been sacked after the aberdeen game or before he had done, nobody knows for sure, unless you can predict the future, how can you say that, what if's and what could of been's don't change thing's so why bother bringing them up? The fact is we got relegated.
  12. haha i have to agree.

    Barrowman

Your right, he was a class act up front with Morais against Partick so I must keep that thought in my head, but we will still need another 2 strikers on the books. Thing is it strikes me that if Odhiambo and Foran sign new contracts that I cannot see us bringing in another striker. I would far rather lose Barrowman or Odhiambo and bring in another big striker.. Thoughts?? From what I've seen of Odhiambo I think he'd have a field day in the 1st Division, since Dargo left we have been crying out for pace upfront. I'd be delighted if we could keep a hold of him, still young and there's a good chance we could make some decent coin. I have some sympathy with Barrowman, confidence is as important to a player as any other attribute and he was expected to jump 2 divisions, and in his first season in the SPL, be our main threat up top. I'll be giving him my full support next season and hopefully he'll repay that with a barrow-load of goals (see what I did there) I have slated Barrowman in the past but i feel we must give him a chance, completely agree with a player performing better with confidence, lets give him a chance to prove himself at a lower level and see what he can do.
  14. I just don't want a man who has little success as a manager in charge of the team i support. I added some reasoning to my post above to make thing's a bit clearer to why I have no faith in Butcher.
  15. Don't rate Deuchar at all, I've played against him and watched him play and he is pretty bad technically, however, i think we might resort to the long ball next season as we seem to be losing all our players who can pass a ball and therefore Deuchar might be a good target man but im afraid that's all he would probably be.
  16. The end of next season.... Do you think it will take as long as that? Probably not in my opinion. 17. Ian Vigurs was our most promising youngster and one of a select group of ICT players that can pass the ball. He arrived at Elgin at 15 y/o played about 20 odd games then signed for ICT and in the 4 years since then has played 20 odd games, which part of promising were you thinking of, 6 years and an everage of 8 starts a season? Everyone has jumped on the band wagon of Vigurs but no one seems to have given a second thought to Zander, same age only been on the pro books 3 years played twice as many times for Elgin and over twice as many for ICT has also chipped in with more goals, and while at Elgin got nominated for 3rd Div Player of Year. He didn't get a chance with Butcher due to injury (think he had an Op) and also released, I think this is who we should be moaning about losing rather than Vigurs or Wood but of course Zander doesn't have his mate on here to push through his personal agenda(CaleyP)!! yes i am mates with iain but i am also very good mates with the majority of the team including dougie and very good mates with zander too, so if you are trying to use the bias card then sorry that won't work. mike i must ask though, you do realise zander only started once for the club, good argument there mate considering iain is in double figures on that stat. also iain actually scored more goals as well, zander got 1 i think and iain got three. o well maybe next time your argument will be stronger mike but probably not.
  18. first of all mike i am just informing people on this forum about what iain is doing and what he has been offered and you call that drivel. mike i think your looking for an argument here which is petty. all of what i have said is true about the clubs looking to sign iain, why would i say otherwise, unless your calling me a liar that is? Iain told me personally that his confidence has been shot big time by the lack of faith showed in him by butcher, therefore, he didn't have the confidence to go and sign for a club at higher level just yet. he feels it will benifit his career and confidence if he signs for a club in the 1st division where he knows the area and so on for the time being. so i ask you again where is the drivel, there are no assumptions being made by me, i am passing on information from the horses mouth?? secondly I personally feel iain was the only class player we had bar blackie and mmorais and that is my opinion, and as for imrie i just don't rate him. now if you had read my posts like you indicated you would realise this is my opinion of a player, im not telling other people to agree with me, so why are you getting so worked up? i don't need to back peddle, i have nothing to prove to anybody, especially YOU mike. i get all my information from very reliable sources, where do you get yours?? Just for the record i defended iain when someone insisted he was trying to suck the club dry and get as much money as possible...hmmm i wonder why i questioned that, maybe because i know iain and he wouldn't do that, so yes i will question people when they make petty assumptions about people and players they don't know, PEOPLE ON THIS FORUM TEND TO DO THAT ALOT. Mike you talk about credability and agressive behavior, signing off a post with a icon giving me the finger really shows maturity and credability.
  19. Harry, I thought he was very unfortunate that he didn't get a chance when Butcher came in, I'm sure they would have got an account of all the boys but there must have been a reason for him not to get a look in. I thought he had a lovely left peg and given a consistent run of games I'm sure he would have got up to speed with the SPL but like so many that was a luxury we could or would not afford them. To be honest it was the drivel coming from CaleyP that annoyed me more than anything else and because of that it made me sound like I was against Vigurs but I would like us to give youth a chance and if like most clubs we become a feeder for bigger sides then we should be able to recoup a decent profit from their sale, it's how a lot of teams survive. As you said if plan B is to get straight back up then surely there is a plan C to keep us there. We need at least some stability and a plan in place for the next 3 - 5 years but with the management team only here for another season it looks like a quick fix and if it doesn't work out they walk away and we're left to pick up the pieces. I hope it doesn't turn out that way but by the end of next season we could have the majority of players out of contract and not have a management team and who ever comes in has to start from the very bottom. what drivel would that be mike???????????????????????????????????????????
  20. CaleyP did you not slate Dougie "1st division" Imrie and now your great white hope has signed for a bottom 3 1st Division side? I thought you had him signed for half the SPL and now he's signed for a possible relegation team, maybe not the star you had him down for? well he turned down a move to a team in the UEFA cup next year as he wants to get a good season behind him....he accepted less than quarter of the wage this team were offering him including flights for him and his family every month to sign for county, so maybe he wants to prove something in scotland first. hows that mike, has imrie had an offer like that??? also mike including the team from over sea's he had SPL clubs interested, he just thought he'd have a greater chance of a game next season with a 1st division club so he can get experience behind him. anything else you would like to know mike??
  21. We will be seeing vigurs next season but in a Ross County shirt. He has been offered a very nice deal to join the club and will be putting pen to paper tomorrow morning. i think we're really going to regret not signing him again...im gutted butcher has let this go, nevermind to our biggest rivals.
  22. Vigurs is signing for Ross County tomorrow morning. It's a shame that County can offer him a very nice deal but ICT cant...
  23. The perfect lineup to take us to the second division. your right, nowhere near strong enough, we really need some luck in the transfer market otherwise we're going to struggle next season. the 1st division isn't no push over. teams like partick will run all over us with a team like that, especially with them wanting to sign vigurs. i fear he might come back to haunt us.

    Barrowman

i haven't seen much promise from barrowman to be honest but i think he actually might find his level next season, i think we should just wait and see. he can't get any worse lets put it like that so thing's have to get a little better anyway.
