  1. your argument would have been a whole lot better if you said "Strikers score goals, Barrowman doesn't" :thumb04: Imrie has scored more than Barrowman and he is meant to be running down the wing. Not really as I was replying to a post which was talking about Imrie playing up front not Barrowman. Usually when I reply to a point someones made I have to include the point in hand.
  2. I would say after Black leaves we only have one actual quality midfielder and that is Vigurs, as for the rest they are not quality they are just grafters so we definitely need more quality in midfield. Strikers score goals...Imrie doesn't, so I wouldn't consider him an option for striker next season. We need a striker who is proven. If we stay up which I think we'll just do we need to stop settling for poor players and stop convincing ourselves that they are good enough, technical wise individually we probably have the worst team in the league so we need to up the standard of players we bring in, if we want to be an SPL club then we need SPL players, at the moment we have possibly 5 players that meet that level, that just isn't good enough.
  3. thats the team i'd go for. I would love to see butcher re-introduce vigurs as I think his vision could unleash Morais, we've lacked that final ball without vigurs. somehow i think vigurs is completely out of favour at the moment though, I think that was made clear on saturday with butcher putting a under 19's player in and not him...it's a shame as i think personally that vigurs is our best midfielder bar blackie.
  4. Cant see Terry starting Vigurs or Wood. Not till next season anyway or when were save from the drop Who says vigurs and wood will be at ICT next season? I hear they haven't signed any new offers. Hopefully they are. Well they should sign both of them up they still have alot to offer the club Yeah I agree, both have talent. I think Vigurs should be re-introduced now however, need someone with that killer pass, noone is providing that at the moment.

  6. One of the first things that Duncan did was pass the ball out for an Aberdeen throw in breaking down his own teams attacking move! Kerr has picked up a few votes in the PotM poll so others seem to think he had a decent enough outing. Can't say I'm overly bothered if you disagree with me of course. Each to their own and all that. Fair enough, that's what forums are all about, exhange of opinions etc, all good fun. It is funny though how one person can see and have a completely different opininion from one another when watching the same player.
  7. RiG you can not be serious about kerr toady...he had an awful game, he is the most static lazy player I have ever seen in an ICT strip. This was also the opinion of several people I was talking to that were also at the game. I don't see what people see in this guy at the moment, he does no work whatsoever, poor balckie was flying all over the place doing a job of two. Kerr doesn't close down, he doesn't track back, he doesn't support the strikers and he is the slowest player ever, when he does get to the ball he has no time to do anything with it. Now it's a shame as I've seen in the past that he is a good passer of the ball but he is just way of the pace at the moment and it looks down to pure laziness. I made a point of counting how many passes he made today after feeling the same about him last week...4 of his passes that he meant went to and ict player...that is shocking for a centre midfielder. So CaleyP are you a manager??? No doubt it. Terry and MM have seen Kerr play more times than you have and i think they no more what kind of player he is. Kerr may have played bad the day but i dont see you saying anything else about the other 10 players we had on No not a manager, I did play at professional level though and have a good understanding of the game, his work rate just isn't good enough. I thought the whole team were bad but everyone else at least put in the work rate. I don't care how many time butcher has seen kerr play that doesn't change the fact he was horrible on sat. read the posts im not the only one that thinks that.
  8. I am deadly serious about Kerr. Towards the end he seemed to be the only midfielder trying to link defence with the forwards. from reading the posts on this it seems people felt kerr had a horrid game as well. Does the four passes and low work rate not worry you? I'd have Duncan, Mcbain and especially vigurs all ahead of kerr at the moment, all have a much higher work rate and get involved in the game far more.
  9. none of them they were all ******* awful.

Well maybe I just didn't see the good side of Foran on saturday, let's hope he plays the way you say he can tomorrow. I will admit though I have my doubts about him as a top flight player, it's no coincidence that butcher has saved his career three times from going down the pan. Your correct though, time will tell about Vigurs, but i think he has massive potential and I know plenty of very respected managers both in scotland and down south who have a high opinion of Vigurs which I know by word of mouth. Lets hope we keep Vigurs and give him and us the chance next season to shine.

So let me get this right, your saying that Foran is a technically sound player? have you watched him pass a ball or even look up when he goes to pass, on saturday all he did was pass without looking up and most of the time it went straight to the opposition. These sort of players don't last, hence, every club he's played for has ditched him. Does that not tell you something no? ICT aren't going to stay up for long if they keep signing poor players. Kerr on the other hand is technically a good player, however, he didn't do enough for me on saturday...poor blackie was knackered at the end of the game because he was doing all the running and looking for the ball all the time...Kerr wasn't doing this. Granted his pass to Morais was good but we were lucky we were playing st mirren and not a better team on saturday. If he is the one to replace blackie then I hope he raises his work rate double fold otherwise we are going to be left wanting in midfield next season especially if we stay up. As for vigurs he was our best player along with black before butcher came in, he's a brilliant young talent. If he was played every week he would undoubtedly be our best midfielder. If you can't see that then you clearly aren't very good at picking out a good player.... We can't rely on duds from other clubs to do a job for us, if they (Foran) can't do it for those clubs they ain't going to do ot anywhere else. Wishful thinking my friend. People are so quick to give praise when things are going their way, however, actually taking the time to analyse a player is different from just watching a team winning/losing/drawing a game. I think it is you who needs to come back to our planet soon.

I would say kerr had a very quiet game on saturday, he didn't look for the ball enough, if your going to be a centre midfielder you have to be looking to get the ball all the time. his passing is probably on par with Duncan so that isn't saying a great deal. Anyway I hope that was just a quiet game for Kerr but as far as Foran is concerned he is technically a very poor player, no wonder he has been ditched by every club he's played for. You say he didn't have much a chance because the ball wasn't been hoofed up the park for him to chase...well if that is all he is good for then it's a player we can do without as when he had the ball to feet he was useless. Not going to get into the debate with you over Vigurs again as that was pointless last time.
  14. I've spoken to a few players and they pronounce his name "Mo-Ray".

I think that we may need a little change for this game on saturday. For me Kerr and foran didn't do enough for me on saturday, I came away from that game with no positive things to say about the two players. They were not influential on that game whatsoever. I think we need Vigurs back in there, with his passing ability he could unleash morais so much more than we do when Vigurs isn't playing. So I would put him back in the team over Kerr/Foran without a doubt. --------------------------------------------------------esson-------------------------------------------------------------------------- -------tokley------------------mihadjuks-------------------------gethsusi---------------------------Hastings--------------------- ---------Proctor---------------------black-------------Vigurs---------------------Imirie--------------------- -----------------------------morais--------------------------------rooney--------------------------------------------------------
  16. it would be nice to see vigurs back, can only be a good thing. still not seen anyone with better vision than him come in the january window. not even on the bench nowadays, surely we want our best players available to play whether it be starting or on the bench.

    Iain Vigurs

Caley want to keep players they need to offer them enough money to live on. I think vigurs was/is wanting to stay with caley but he was offered two horrible offers, why should someone accept pennies when they know they are worth a wage. i feel for the lad, all he wants is a reward for his good performances, he deserves it a lot more than some of our players. was one of our best performers and was offered pocket money for a wage and he now gets shafted, if thats how we treat our players then thats just taking advantage of a young lad, we wouldnt accept that so why should he??????
  18. not suprised to be honest, he was very slow, light weight and very poor in the air for his height...not sure how he will cope in lower more physical leagues to be honest...he's one of those players who needs a hell of lot of good players around him to be effective and he aint going to get time and decent players the lower he goes. not a professional footballer in my opinion. i would butter coat what i said but no point. goodluck to him whatever career he ends up doing though.
  19. i wouldnt go as far as saying he'll become a class player but an essential one to the team yes. i think the club need to hang onto imrie, not been great lately but important to the team none the less.
  20. esson tokely munro duff hasting Cowie Vigurs Duncan Imirie Rooney Wood
  21. esson tokely duff munro hasting cowie black vigurs Wilson imrie rooney/wood we don't win games when vigurs is left out, brew you fool how do you not see this? black and cowie play better when vigurs is playing. we need our best players performing to win games.

    4-4-2

exactly. the defenders still punt the ball up in a 4-4-2. ultimately our problem is the punting up the field.
  23. CaleyP

    4-4-2

Perhaps you should make it clear you are referring to THIS SEASON. As others have said, we have played 4-4-2 for much of our short history and it has served us pretty well. we have certainly won a damn site more games using that formation than any other over the years. I guess the big difference might be who was actually formulating the tactics ..... if the person talking tactics doesnt know how to play 4-4-2 then there is no point using it !!! As for the punt - I agree with you 100%. ICT have ALWAYS been a better team when playing the ball on the deck and that is regardless of 442, 451, 352 or any other combination you might want to mention. yeah, sorry i am only referring this season. My point is brew doesn't know how to get our team working using a 4-4-2 so i can't understand why people want him to use this formation, he clearly doesn't have a clue how to use this formation to good effect. Your completely correct, it's down to the person formulating the tatics, and brew has proved he is pretty clueless in this department unfortunately. All im trying to say is we only seem to play well using the 4-5-1 under brew so we should stick to it. If we get a manager in that has the ability to get us playing effective football using different formations then that's great, but under brew we don't have that luxury.

    4-4-2

haha well possibly not, but i get what you mean.
  25. CaleyP

    4-4-2

:thumb04: :018: Evidence please. we haven't won one game using the 4-4-2 formation. anymore evidence required? all the games we have won have been won when using the 4-5-1 system. as long as our defenders don't resort to punting the ball up the park we are an effective team in this formation.
