  1. Flora MacDonald looks naked without an I.C.T scarf or flag being draped around her fine neck.

    There's an old highland saying....

"The Sneck will win on the national stage

    when Flora adorns a scarf

The colours they must be blue and red

Who is up for a larf?"

  2. His time will come but I think he'll miss Sundays cut for the bench.

Unfortunately I agree with you re... missing the cut but I feel he is ready and could make the difference if the game is a stalemate late on.

  3. Having seen Christie play  a part (20 minutes or so) in a number of games I have to admit to being very impressed. I predict that, barring injuries, this lad can make it right to the top. He offers "something different" and has the ability to open up defences with sheer ability and "sees" passes that very few others can. I realise that there is very stiff competition for a place on the bench for Sunday's game but, this young lad is very, very good and must be seriously considered.

  4.

I know young Stephen Rennie, who is only 15/16 started, probably on the left hand side of midfield

If that's the case, I am expecting the likes of Greenhalgh, Pepper, Polworth, Tremarco playing tonight.

ICTRoughi - Pretty sure you are right with your assumption and these players will be involved v Hibs.

  7. I also know of a coach load of bus drivers who are going to the match because its on the Sunday, if it was a Saturday most of them would be working.

There must be plenty who can now go because they arent tied to looking after the public on the Saturday.

If God created everything then he also created football, just ask the big man up stairs if its ok to go.

Who's the unlucky one having to drive?

  8. Be great to know where I.C.T fans are travelling from to attend the final. Heard of two travelling from Algarve.

Also, what's the latest on how many tickets have been sold? Figures ranging from 2500 to 6500. Any reason for not confirming figures?

  9. Hey ho don't you KNOW

  10. Richard Hastings hangs up his cleats

Defender Richard Hastings, a stalwart of the men's national team for over a decade, has announced his retirement as a player. The announcement isn't overly surprising, as the 33-year-old has been without a club since the end of the 2009-10 season. He had 59 appearances for Canada -- tied with Carlo Corazzin for ninth on the all-time caps list -- the last of which was last spring's friendly against Venezuela.

In more than 10 years representing the national team, he scored just one goal. But it was one of the most memorable, and important, goals in the history of the men's national team.

That extra-time strike sent Les Rouges past Mexico (and their inconsolably glum goalkeeper) into the semi-finals of the 2000 Gold Cup, a tournament that Canada would eventually win.

"Richard has served Canada well over his international career and his leadership will be missed by all involved," national head coach Stephen Hart said in a press release.

"Richard still has some valuable experience to pass on as a professional, especially at the club level, but he has made a decision on what is best for him and his family. On behalf of the Canadian program, I would like to say thank you for his service to the country and wish him every success in the future."

The B.C. native will immediately move into a role as an instructor with The Other Foot Soccer School in Nanaimo, an offshoot of the original Other Foot Soccer School based in Inverness, Scotland (which, wouldn't you know it, is where Hastings played for the majority of his club career). The academy is based on a pretty neat concept -- teaching kids to improve with their weaker foot.

While Hastings' time as a player is done, this move is part of a very encouraging trend of former national team members taking up coaching and leadership roles to help young Canadian players blossom -- besides Hastings, Jason de Vos, Nick Dasovic and Jason Bent immediately come to mind, though I'm sure I'm missing plenty.

Though I'm in no way authorized to do so, I'm going to do it anyway -- On behalf of the Voyageurs, thank you Richard, for your past and ongoing service to Canadian soccer. Here's hoping that some day, one of your trainees will score a massive goal for Canada... perhaps with their "other" foot.

  11. .

Despite the scoreline I thought our back 4 had a decent game, the problems were further up the pitch. Ducan and Cox our two 'defensive' midfielders were absolutly SHOCKING imho, both picked up stupid bookings, and left the backline exposed far too often.

Couldn't agree more DBS. Killie midfield absolutely ****** Cox and Duncan with quality passing, movement and control. This is our weakest area!

How can you expect cox and duncan to outplay an entire midfield when they essentially face them alone..

I don't but I DO expect them to find a player with a pass and move appropriately once they have managed to find a team mate. To my mind they are too similar thus get outplayed when up against anyone who has sharper control and an ounce of creativity. On too many occasions Cox in particular, when he has the chance to pass forward opts to pass it back. Granted neither Cox or Duncan are helped by the lack of creative movement throughout the whole team, or just movement!!!!
