  1. Glad to see the supporters organisation taking the steps in tandem with the wishes of the majority of fans, members or not. It is action like this that reminds us that we do have a voice inside that cannot be ignored. This, along with other methods of petitioning and protestation, should be in tandem. United we stand, divided we fall.

  2. I think Munro here has been wheeled out to try and take the heat off Brew. No player seeks out the media, he cant. He has to be advised by the club when and where to have an interview. As this is a Setanta one, all the more so.

Munro was as candid as he could, he didnt praise Brew once, just said that the players are not without blame, which i guess is fair, but a very small percentage of the overall picture.

Players have full backing. As always!!

  3. Yes, you may be right. I do think Calderwood might give his pal a helping hand in return for rolling over. Any SPL player will come from the top 5 teams, the others need their players.

I have sneaking suspicion, it could be someone from England. But if its domestic, Mackie or Kirk seem plausible enough.

What kind of player would complement Rooney?

What kind of player would complement Wood?

  4. For: May force the boards hand. Could expediate the inevitable in time to turn it around. Will be firm evidence for everyone that board inaction leads to fan action.

Against: Will do nothing for the players morale/performance, affects the club financially, could be seen as "unloyal" supporters, club will probably say its bad time of year/uninspiring opposition.

For what its worth, Im against a boycott.

(easy for me to say, so far away, i know!)

  5. This is a chapter in ICT history that no-one has ever seen before. Nobody wants this to happen. Im sure it will be done with the heaviest of hearts and a lot of soul searching.

The general consensus seems to be that there must be someone brought in now. The only way to act as a catalyst is to take affirmative action. This, it seems, is it.

I think those who would have normally went to the game should arrange to meet somwhere, get a picture, or let the newspapers know, and show their numbers, else the absence could be put down to the weather/credit crunch/SFL opposition etc.

  6. What is more worrying is that he does not seem to think that there's a problem in defence.

We know we cant score many goals but we are leaking goals at a hellofa rate and points are gained by being solid at the back.

I think there will be a midfielder and a defender brought in as well. Midfielder to replace Black/Cowie and a partner for Munro. They had better be three quality additions, although i suspect they will be very good SFL division 1 players, not SPL quality. If the three brought in are not up to it then I fear for the future.

  7. Barry Wilson:

"I think the manager admitted himself a couple of weeks ago that he tried to go down the youngster route and it has not worked," Wilson told BBC Sport. "So I think he is looking to bring in a few experienced faces in January."

    Craig Brewster:

?I have a list of players which will be passed on to director of football Graeme Bennett and hopefully he can wheel and deal and get some of them to sign...It is not always that simple, but we will be working hard. We are looking at forwards, but goal scorers are not always easy to find.

So, one would assume, we are definitely getting one, experienced striker... but who? Is it another First Division raid? More than likely as I doubt any SPL side will be selling to each other, might be from England, but i think...

Andy Kirk (29) Dunfermline 17 games/9goals, N.Ireland internationalist and SPL experience aplenty

  8. 1. Bruce Rioch.

    2. Bobby Williamson

    3. Derek Adams

    4. Colin Calderwood

Important that they choose their own assistants as they should have an idea of whether they can work together or not.

I have a suspicion he would not move us forward as was poor in his last two jobs. But i like the others

  9. Gave me my greatest thrill at a football game ever on Feb 8th. A club like ICT has just a few legends and Barry will always be in the ICT XI, of that, there is no doubt. Best of luck at QoS I shall be rooting for them from now on. Hope ICT and QoS can meet in the cup so we can see you at ICT again!

  10. A new suggestion I heard today was Neale Cooper with Duncan Shearer as assistant? Comments

I would almost prefer Brewster ........ almost !!!

Yeah, i would not see Cooper before Robbo. Confidence wise, Robbo would do it. I would be happy with him. But dont forget Robbo had Parky too. Who would replace Malky, also a very important appointment. Someone with a lot of experience given Robbo is still a young manager, and Shearer, Wilson are inexperienced.

    Robbo and ..........Wilson Sr?

  11. If that's the policy they've adopted then it's suicidal. You might as well play Russian roulette.

    Better the Devil you know.

Grass isnt always greener on the other side.

Im sure these are the thoughts of the board. Hindsight is a wonderful thing. All we know is that there is no evidence that Brewster can turn it around, only evidence to the contrary.

  12. I think it's becoming apparent that the board have decided to keep the faith with Brewster. A huge gamble IMO. If we avoid relegation then maybe we'll all be eating humble pie come the end of the season. However, and this is a big HOWEVER, if we're relegated then the board's position would then become untenable. Where will that leave the club next summer? Managerless and Boardless?

Spot on RednBlack. I think they are preparing for the gamble of staying with the ship and see if it manages to stay afloat. And, as you say, they know if ICT is relegated, the club will have to be purged. Its a gamble most other clubs would not take.

  13. George Fraser: (from Mexico) ...Graeme, we canny act. Ah dinnae wanna gie thon rabble the satisfaction. Right or wrong, Craigy is stayin' put. Got it?

Graeme: Aye, fair enough like, but, things here are nae gettin' any better like, an wi the transfer window an that, like...

George Fraser: [To waiter: Senor, 2 Pina Coladas por favor] Listen, he is no goin anywhere, its oot o my hands. If he keeps doin mince, well, upstairs will hae to do summit, but no the now.

    Graeme: No the now?

George Fraser: No the now, rub ma back will ya?

    Graeme: Eh?

George Fraser: no you, ya daftie, the Missus.

Graeme: Aye, eh, aye, eh...so, yel hae a word wi Mr Sutherland then?

George Fraser: Aye, maybe. Adios Senor Bennett. Click

    Graeme: **** it

  14. Worst league form - (last 10 games) Inverness CT

Least clean sheets - (1) Inverness CT

Goals scored - 6th best, same as 4th placed Hearts (20)

Goals conceded - (34) the second worst defence behind Hamilton

  15. Without a Charles de Gaulle figure to lead the resistance the movement is doomed. Who will be the Tito of Caley Thistle?

I think any protest checklist would have to include, in order,

    Noise from the matchday crowd

    Banners

    Letters to club and newspapers

    Petition (online)

    A walkout

    A boycott

I believe the first three have been done, what about the last three, need a De Gaulle for those!

  16. As a percentage, ICT have won 25%, drawn 10% and lost 65% of their matches this season.

At home we have a 0% record of clean sheets.

Any other statistics from this season? Corners won, goals won from, goals conceded from etc etc.

Can anyone find out other actual statistics to chew on?

  17. 4-5-1

    4-4-2

    5-4-1

A good player can play anywhere...

If you at least act as if you know what youre doing it might be a start. Basically, CB, what have you done for this club that has been anything better than mediocre. Sure a few good scores and runs, but that was with a different team, youve sold all the best ones cos they didnt agree with you. And pray tell who will you be buying to replace Black, Dods, Niculae, Rankin, Wilson, even Cowie?

  18. Kudos to Allyb - thats a long drive and a heck of a lot of money. And a very good post, as have all of them been.

    Board,

    I think that you are

    1) being overly loyal to a manager that has won us nothing, brought in nothing and will do nothing

    2) ripping the club apart through pure inaction and indifference,

    3) alienating yourselves, individually as well as a unit, from the fans

    4) expecting there to be a huge turnaround in form and all will be forgotten

    5) extremely naive and bullish to believe n.o4 as there is no evidence that it can happen and only evidence that it wont.

While your sense of loyalty is admirable, it is misplaced. your duty is the welfare of ICT, not an individual.

  19. I think Blacks statement is very telling

There are people behind the scenes that have looked after me very well."

    and

"I met Csaba last week...He knows what he is doing."

I cannot believe we are losing him, and Cowie too. A Scotland B player and the first Div player of the year for nothing.

The Director of Football/Vice-Chairman, Mr Graeme Bennett, is equally at fault over this and as this whole situation goes on more and more people at the club are being exposed.

  20. As seen on the BBC the Sports minister has backed Labour's Frank McAveety's call for free admission for kids to selected games.

In principle an excellent idea, but I think only if they are accompanied by an adult, a maximum ratio of 3 to 1 perhaps. Because, if the club were to allow hundreds of bored kids in unaccompanied, it would cause problems in policing and stewarding.

  21. An interesting idea,

Dundee have the meanest defence even though they are 9th. Kyle Benedictus won young player of the month award for November, only played 3 games, but just signed a new contract. Darren Williams in central defence is 31, Eddie Malone is the left back, 23, and has started almost all their games. Right back is Michael Paton, again starting most games. Gary MacKenzie, 23 seems to be the highest rated, ex-Rangers, last season Dundee conceded only 30 and he was "at the heart of the defence"
