All depends on how you define investment. Short term it could be argued that the new players could see us climb off the bottom and the return is increased revenue from league place and avoiding the cost of relegation. However, long term it's very likely that we'll need to make similar levels of investment (if not more) in the summer in order to maintain the position....and all of this assumes that the current investment works. This is why I said previously that I didn't agree with the path we were taking, but having taken the path we have then the club are probably doing what needs to be done to make the best of that. So whilst I wouldn't doubt there's "investment", I really don't see us being any better off as a result come the summer...on top of that, we'll have used a large chunk (if not all, plus some) of available funds now, and where will the required investment come from in the Summer? I already have my suspicions as to the answer to the last part, but that's for another discussion.

Have to admit, I've never been a fan of white shirts, but some of the designs on this thread are winning me round. Would it be fair to say that most people are leaning towards not mixing red n blue with the white as it lends itself to looking like Rangers and that red n black or blue n black would give us a more unique identity?

Think that's the point Scotty is getting at, birdog. If flags and/or banners are offensive then it is covered by law and therefore it should be something the police deal with and club/stewards should not be taking law into their hands by getting involved.

Even with all these guys coming in on short term deals our wage bill looks like it's going to be through the roof for the next few months.

There's two issues here..... 1. The inconsistency between treatment of home and visiting fans. 2. The fact that there's people in positions of authority on match days who think that just because they dislike or disagree with something then it's automatically a breach of rules/guidelines. Furthermore, I believe that the way in which Stewards are being asked to handle these things is nothing short of harassment....a view that was backed up with an informal chat I had with a solicitor following my situation at the Aberdeen match when they tried to have my "Brewster MUST Go" banner removed.

How can they have a waiting list when they say that they'll be "paying for free bus travel for all fans who want to see their SPL game at Hamilton Accies". Surely if people want to go they are now duty bound to put on enough buses to accommodate them?

I've just been through and tidied up the thread, partly to remove the unnecessary quoting of images etc where they are in the post immediately prior to comment and not needed (thread will load smoother/faster as a result) but also to remove comments which are taking discussion away from the topic immediately to hand. I would refer people to the opening post of the thread for the comment from the club about what they are looking to achieve and remind people of Scotty's request/warning...... Comments regarding liking/disliking certain designs are fine, as are comments describing what you might like to see where you don't have the tools to make/post an image (where someone will pick up on it and try to assist). Normally we would allow other related discussion and banter, but as people will be looking through this thread at ideas put forward then we ask that any other discussion you might want to have about allegiances to team colours prior to 1994 be taken to another thread. I know next to feck all about English Football, but I can't help feeling that the offer for KaKa will be considered a "loss leader". If they can secure the services of someone like that then others will be more inclined to follow and although they'll still need to pay silly money, it'll be a few quid more (relatively speaking) they will need to offer instead of multiples of existing salaries to convince players to move.
