  2. That article is a joke!
"Rangers were expelled from Scottish Premier League" is simply nonsense. In no circumstance were they expelled from the SPL!
They were 'docked' 10 points for entering administration - that was their only punishment.
Subsequently, they failed to exit administration and were eventually liquidised - thus ceasing to exist.
42 clubs became 41. The leagues were re-aligned with an unexpected promotion for Dundee...and so on, down the structure, leaving a 12-10-10-9 set-up with an obvious vacancy to be filled in League 2.
The new Rangers were accepted, unopposed. The likes of Spartans realised an application would be futile - they were appeased by the promise of a Pyramid set-up, to effectively stand-aside. And so, The Rangers were automatically accepted into League 2 - which the deluded still consider being relegated to the 4th tier - as a punishment!
    No such thing ever happened!
The media need to grow some balls and report the truth!

  3. I was the same Alex, little TV payment info 'out there'!
But it's true what RossP mentioned...for league games, it's no longer a massive boost (financially), having SKY covering your games.
You could have all 38 of your fixtures televised live on SKY - or none at all. The money received would be exactly the same. It's now 'pooled' (as RossP stated) and distributed in league placement 'prize money'.
However, having the SKY cameras at a Scottish Cup game does pay to the two individual clubs, so we've 'scored' here - ironically, by not disposing of Stirling at the first attempt! Seemingly the 'fee' is set by the SFA, and is the same, regardless of which company (BBC, SKY, BT Sport etc) broadcasts it.
Another point - the TV money from both semi-finals is divided equally amongst the 4 clubs involved, so Celtic at Hampden is no more financially lucrative than playing Annan.
But, it should be a decent pay-day for us against Stirling, although it will certainly have a negative impact on the crowd size on the night.

  4. Ross County 1-0 Dunfermline Athletic

Last 16 draw update (ties currently on 6th February):

    Annan Athletic v Greenock Morton
    Dumbarton v Dundee or Falkirk
    Dundee United v Partick Thistle
East Kilbride or Lothian Thistle Hutchison Vale v Celtic
    Heart of Midlothian v Hibernian
Motherwell v Inverness Caledonian Thistle or Stirling Albion
    Rangers v Kilmarnock
Ross County v Forfar Athletic or Linlithgow Rose

  5.
Yeah, 4 players missing this weekend. Danny Devine for us, and 3 for them!

DANIEL GERRARD DEVINE (INVERNESS CALEDONIAN TH) 1 SPFL FIRST TEAM MATCH FROM 09/01/16
JOSHUA MAGENNIS (KILMARNOCK F.C.) 1 SPFL FIRST TEAM MATCH FROM 09/01/2016
STEVEN SMITH (KILMARNOCK F.C.) 1 SPFL FIRST TEAM MATCH FROM 09/01/2016
KEVIN MCHATTIE (KILMARNOCK F.C.) 1 SPFL FIRST TEAM MATCH FROM 12/01/2016

  6. Obviously a bit presumptuous to be looking at the draw, as we're not 'officially' in it yet - but I'm confident we'll beat Stirling in the replay!
No-brainer...we surely want the 'certain' non-league team left! (East Kilbride or Lothian Thistle HV)

However, I seem to remember from earlier in the thread, it was mentioned that we've never been to Annan or Dumbarton ever before - and both are still alive!
And of course, we've not been to Linlithgow, East Kilbride or Lothian Thistle either!
Please, anyone but Celtic, yet again!

  7. He just wasn't good enough, IMO. So much for the Aldershot fans saying he was 'too good' for Scottish football!
We should have got rid of him after the spitting incident, and made a real statement. Glad he's gone, as I am with Sho-Silva.

Yes. this thread does appear to getting longer--a case of some folks stoking the fire I suppose?

 Yeah, and it's still got three-weeks to go!
But much of the drama happens in the final day(s)! Not sure of the exact closing date of the 'window', but a quick glance at the net suggests it shuts at 11pm on 1st Feb in England. It's been good so far - extending Storey's loan and getting a new striker in.

Re Craig Beattie - his problem was always injury proneness rather than Riordan-style self-destruction. And he is 35. I thought their starting No 9 put in a terrific shift.

    He's not 35. He's 31 (32 next week!)

The High School anchored at the bottom there. I wonder how those figures would compare to 30-35 years ago?

Talking of which, I was surprised to discover that Inverness High School has significantly fewer pupils on its roll than the other Inverness schools.
Another observation - Fortrose Academy is consistently high in the ratings; and reasons for that are the demographics outlined above by CB.
Although I agree (with the relationship between catchment-area and affluence), there are always exceptions; not everybody that attends Millburn is from a middle-class background.

The dream continued with you signing for me at ICT and we went on another Cup run, then I woke up.

Stokes says, "that was just a dream it all sound bit too far fetched to me"

  16. Here are the latest figures for Highland Region secondary schools. For what they're worth...!
'Roll' is from 2014 (taken from Highland Council's website)
% is from the March 2015 School Tables (widely available online - I used http://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/news/scottish-news/how-well-your-kids-school-5407127 ) and is the
percentage of pupils achieving 3 or 4 Highers in the (I assume) 2014 exams. Not included are smaller schools who presented fewer than 5 pupils - like Farr and Kinlochbervie.

  17. To be fair to the Beeb, every media outlet has Draper on 6 yellows. That also includes the databases of Soccerway, Soccerbase etc and even the official SPFL match report from the Aberdeen game has Draper as being booked. The most trustworthy stats though, should come from this and the official ICTFC site - but, which also have Draper on 6!

Devine listed as being on 5 'everywhere'. Mistaken identity? Probably not, as he was seemingly booked for dissent, while Draper's was for a foul.

It appears that despite all reports from the Dons game that we had 3 players cautioned, it's likely that it was actually 4. There's also the possibility that Willie Collum forgot to include the Draper booking in his report...but, that's just speculation on my part!
    A confusing mess!
